I watched a different movie. I watched one about the Japanese village of Anatev-kyo. Then there was the followup in Anatoledo.

All day long I would comment on the movie, if I were a wealthy man.

I will still do a Kast party tomorrow night at 8 p.m. Eastern to show Fiddler. I'll try to be on before that to do a quick troubleshooting test.

What we haven't told you is this counts as 1.5 picks. Next time you'll need to pick something short like 7:35 in the Morning (still an awesome movie IMO) or under an hour.

Would you like to have a Kast party? Due to my disability I am home most of the day.

I signed up for Netflix so that I didn't have to purchase this. I admit I don't watch it often. It was available for a while on Amazon Prime but isn't anymore. (I'm also letting my Prime subscription go.) I would be willing to host a Kast party later this week. Everyone can get together and decide what works for them. Keep in mind the movie is 3 hours long.

The streaming isn't on Movies Anywhere so you are limited to that service if you purchase it. There's also a 40th Anniversary edition DVD or Blu-Ray but there are mixed reviews as to the quality.

Off-topic: Ennio Morricone passed away. Everyone sing The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly theme in his memory. This is my favorite rendition. "What is your part?" "Oh, I stand there and sing 'Wah wah wah'."

Cameron gave it a 10-star review on Letterboxd. Rubbybells nailed it with their comment: "Star for each time you cried."

We might get a Rent situation then, with some of the actors too old to play their characters? Idina Menzel gets a pass though. She HAS to be in the movie!

I watched The Wiz Live! over the weekend. I really enjoyed it up until the wizard told them to kill the Wicked Witch of the West. That seemed unnecessarily dark, and the production lost it's zing. I kind of tuned out a little and had to rewatch from there in. I may be wrong but it seemed to hew more toward the 1939 storyline instead of the movie, like Dorothy not figuring it out, and the Yellow Brick Road starting right in Munchkinland. My memory of The Wiz has it starting where she meets the Scarecrow.

You're saying Wicked has already been filmed, just not released? I agree about the longer legs. You're right that 2021 seemed short. I was surprised a little as well. Was considering trying to get tickets for Baltimore next summer and I kept trying the Broadway lottery.

Why were they originally going to release the movie in October, 2021? Was that the end of the current tours? I assume they moved up the release, and to Disney Plus, because of the pandemic.

They sang West on Down the Road when they were headed to Texarkana to get the Coors.

I need to watch the movie again I think. My Letterboxd review maybe isn’t fair. I have lots of thoughts but no idea how to express them. Would it be OK if I also watched The Wiz Live!? I’m thinking maybe seeing a different take would help clarify things. (I bought Live! for $2.99 on Amazon Prime Video. Vudu wanted $9.99.)
