  1. OK. I just realized there are actually several options here. Please let me know which one you think is best for me (or if I've forgotten something). 1) Go in cold to the Disney+ movie, having not listened to the soundtrack. 2) Listen to the soundtrack then watch the Disney+ movie. (I don't really see the point of this since I can have subtitles on during the movie. I wouldn't miss lyrics then.) 3) Listen to the soundtrack, don't watch the Disney+ movie, go see it on Broadway instead 4) Go in completely cold to Broadway, having not listened to the soundtrack or seen the Disney+ movie. 5) Watch the Disney+ movie then go see it on Broadway.
  2. If the movie is a good (not just sufficient) way maybe we could have a Kast viewing party!
  3. I have never seen Hamilton. Is watching the film a good introduction or should I wait for Broadway to reopen? I want the same experience you folks had at your first time. On the other hand I saw or read a person saying they wish they would have known the music beforehand and were afraid they missed a lot by going in cold.
  4. It half worked. I am still testing to see why it didn't initially work when Cameron signed on.
  5. Yes you are., In case this works, and if people want to join in the future, here's the link to my room.
  6. OMG!!! I got it working! Let me know when a good time for you is. I will be available after 6 p.m. Eastern tomorrow and all day Sunday.
  7. Never mind. This is the biggest cluster I have seen. I cab sometimes get video and sometimes not. Cannot get audio under any circumstances.
  8. Any chance you could pop on for two minutes to help me debug ? If I get it working I can do another night/day.
  9. I have Kast up and my "party" window open. Connect and send me a friend request then I can invite you in.
  10. My Kast ID is CincoDeNio1.
  11. I THINK I have Kast working but I can't seem to get the sound going. (At least I wasn't hearing sound on my iPad.) I will try Kasting from my work laptop at 9 p.m. Eastern tonight to show The Wiz. I will sign on at 8:30 and would greatly appreciate it if someone could come on early and help me test.
  12. The song is actually taken from Benjamin Britten's opera of Dream. I will keep that in mind for a future pick.
  13. Now for less of a tangent. Baz Luhrmann did a musical version of Oberon's monologue at the end of the play. I've always liked it as hopeful that I could find somebody some day. That's taken a backseat but I still enjoy the song. Here are the words of the monologue. Some lines were cut for the song but the overall drive is there.
  14. It turns out the Shakespeare's Globe theater also released a version a week or so ago. I THINK they leave plays up for two weeks but am not sure.

    GREEEEEENNNNNNLLLLAAAAANNNNDDDD!
  16. Off-topic. The (UK) National Theatre is putting up a filmed performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream, from today at 2 p.m. Eastern to next Thursday just before 2 p.m. The performance itself looks amazing but I love this clip for putting modern touches into a classic play. Even if you're not interested in the play at all please view this clip. "Unlock your calendar I beseech you."
  17. I heard that too. That just burns me up!
  18. Works for me! I watched a little of the live version a couple weeks ago but came in the middle so it was hard to follow/appreciate. I look forward to watching this!
  19. Since you weren't ready when the thread was created you're really saying...
  20. @Cam Bert, we miss you now!

Musical Mondays Week 94 Funny Girl

Two last things from me about Funny Lady. In this video James Caan tells how he "tricked" Barbra Streisand in one scene. (In the movie their characters have a fight in her dressing room. She grabs a container of powder and hits him with it, spreading powder all over his front. He reaches down, picks up the container and holds it in front of her while she makes feeble apologies. He then hits her in the forehead with the powder, getting it all over her face.) In this interview he explains that she didn't want him to hit her at all, claiming the powder would damage her voice. He agreed to not do it but then did it anyway, aiming for her forehead so he could avoid her throat. (His comment starts at 5:10 if the link doesn't take you right there.)
