  1. Is someone hosting The Long Dumb Road?

    OK. Thanks.

    HDTGM Classics: TBD

Can you invite me or send me a link? I'm logged on but just see my normal page.
  4. Sounds fine to me! I've started looking for Rabbit alternatives.
  5. Vudu worked for me last night if I shared the tab through the Chrome browser. I can help host either Friday night or Saturday.
  6. It's going well. Many thanks to @taylorannephoto and @Cameron H. for helping me work through my issues. I think I've found a solution to using other services (Vudu, Amazon especially) that works for me. When I bring up the Explore & Watch button I click on Web. Type anything into the box and I can switch to the Chrome tab while Rabbit is bringing up his browser. Sharing worked fine from there and I didn't have to put my login into the Rabbit browser.
  7. Apologies but I am here now Join my group HDTGM MM: https://www.rabb.it/s/w490j4
  8. I would still rather watch this and hold on to Supes.
  9. It's just been brought to your attention that Supes IS available to rent if you have a Vudu account or can use iTunes. https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/details/Superman-3/9468 https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/superman-iii/id543868668
  10. Maybe we can get together some time and you can walk me through how you did it. I know how to create groups. I know how to share video. I just don't know how to add friends and to open a room without using the Explore & Watch button.
  11. OK. We're in agreement then. I just don't know of a spot where I can add friends ahead of time to a group. It's only when they click on the link that they get added. I think they can request entry from the link but I'm not sure. I will do a trial run tonight at 9 p.m. of my alternate MM pick (my pick after the upcoming one). If people would just click the link to be added it would be helpful. You don't have to stay and watch.
  12. Here are screenshots for what I am talking about. If I select Web to view something on Amazon I have to log in to Amazon via Rabb.it's browser. I can't be in on Amazon in a separate tab and then share the tab.
  13. To actually open the room I have to click the "Explore & Watch" button and then pick a video. There's no "Open Room" button.
  14. I've created several groups but haven't found how to put people into it without sending them an invite link. Also it appears I have to start some video somewhere in order to get a private room open so I can then go to the Chrome extension and start sharing the real video. I'm on Rabb.it's Facebook page and people have been hollering there for weeks. It appears Rabb.it rolled out their new update but it's missing lots of things the old system had. They should have waited until all the features were ready.
  15. Agreed. I looked at it and it's only videos available on Facebook.
  16. Before the update I would get messages that they weren't allowing me to share video because there was only one person (me) viewing it. Once another person arrived in the room they would start the broadcast. Now I'm not even sure they'll do that. I know I can open a public room but am not sure about it. One other alternative might be to create a private group on Facebook and host a Watch Party there. I will have to look into what that takes.
  17. I joined Rabbit's Facebook group and am trying to see if anyone has solutions there. I know you can create a group ahead of time but it's not clear how to invite people after that. If's like you have to create the group up front with all of your relevant friends in it. I'll keep you all posted with what I find.
  18. I can try on Friday night if it doesn't work for you. It will probably have to be an open room unless I can get something besides Rabbit's crap about how to use the groups. I even sent them a message two weeks ago and they've never responded.
  19. I think the only criteria is if this has a soundtrack people can buy. If so, game on! (Just kidding. It's fine with me.)

Musical Mondays Week 60 True Stories

Thanks! I'm thinking about two weeks from now on Thursday, so March 14th. Next week will be taken with Quasar's pick and the 15th is probably an HDTGM Classics night. I would probably have to do it as a public room unless someone here is more knowledgeable about using the new groups feature. Has anyone seen Shallow Grave from Danny Boyle?

Musical Mondays Week 60 True Stories

Off-topic: Is it ever permissible to just show favorite movies on Rabbit? I have one obscure one that I love but it's not really HDTGM-worthy (and it's not a musical).

Musical Mondays Week 60 True Stories

Tres interesante! I hadn't thought of that. Reminds me of a description I read about the movie that shall not be named (It rhymes with Bite Schlub): The men of Project Mayhem, in the end, were just doing the same jobs they had done in the corporate world! They were just working for Tyler now instead of The Man. They thought they were escaping but then became the same nameless, faceless drones they were before. Except for Robert Paulsen (Paulson?) did we ever learn any of their names?

Musical Mondays Week 60 True Stories

For that matter, even with it all being pre-fab, wasn't that talent show stage just a little outsized for the small town? Not to mention the lighting not being pre-fab (I mean the ones hanging from the stage, not the built-in blue lighting surrounding the whole structure.) Part of David Byrne's fantasy I'm sure. Just seems an abrupt shift from the low-tech fashion show at the mall to the high-tech talent show.
