It's not modernized Shakespeare but I've been enjoying the Hollow Crown series of RIchard II, Henry IV (Parts 1 & 2) and Henry V. I really need to buy the DVDs as the copies I have are lousy. They've done more but I haven't seen those. Amazon has Season 1 (the ones I mentioned above) streaming for $9.99. I'll buy that.

Too early for flapjacks?

At first I thought Kenneth Branagh narrating the newsreels was going to take me out of the movie but I stopped noticing. The movie requires so much suspension of disbelief that I was willing to go with it.

IMDB Trivia Correction: Trivia item states: "Two thirds of Shakespeare's dialogue was sacrificed to make way for 10 Cole Porter songs." Yet only one song was by Cole Porter. The rest were mostly Irving Berlin or the Gershwins.

I was thinking similarly except that I was surprised each lady let her man get that familiar and sexual with someone else. I'll have to watch again and see if the king wound up with the orange lady during the masquerade. The real-life actors met and fell in love during this movie.

I just watched this last night and enjoyed it. I'm glad I read the comments before watching as I would have not paid attention to the ending. As it is I missed that it was Jacquenetta getting sent to the camp. I understood the camp but also saw Amado and Moth in line so I thought they were being sent as well. Yet there they were along with everyone else at the grand finale. Will watch it again when I want a frothy love story. I thought Nathan Lane was wasted. He was funny in the letter delivery scene and one piece of banter but other than that he disappeared for me. I thought there was one scene in the trailer that wasn't in the movie but will need to watch the trailer again. I didn't understand why the entire country was subject to the edicts. They made such a big point out of the four friends signing on that I thought the rules only applied to the four. Why did the countryside have to subscribe as well without their consent?

I just found out Skyline got a sequel last year. I liked the original and enjoyed the podcast ep. Would like to see them do a follow-up on the sequel. Beyond Skyline

I bought this on Vudu last night and watched the trailer. I think I definitely want to go in blind and take the movie as is first. I already own all the plays on my Kindle account so I can read that later. [media=''] [/media]

Is it blasphemy to say it's hard for me to see it's Hugh Jackman even when he stands up at the end? He looks more like Jon Hamm than himself. In another video, where he sings From Now On, he looks more like himself. My eyes play weird tricks sometimes.
