  1. Anxious to watch now, since maybe I should have watched before I chose it..
  2. I almost thought I found a solution last night-- there is a legit website that has it to watch/stream for free. But in checking if it worked ok, it seemed there's a spot early in the movie where it blacked out for a bit So I was bummed after figuring that out cause I thought it had solved my problem. Still think PD will be interesting to revisit / discuss though. So Im ok with it .
  3. I guess it's more like has seen but don't remember / only remember being scared by it as a kid.. haha
  4. I had a hard time deciding---I have a list of ideas but always had My Fair Lady as my first pick. Since it is one I really enjoy, and think there's a lot to discuss & also seems like many of you haven't seen (per Letterboxd). BUT, it is not available to watch streaming anywhere or even to rent streaming on iTunes or Amazon. And I did not want to make everyone purchase it. So, maybe next pick if it's more accessible... Anyway... I decided to go with another one that I do not think many have seen. And I have not watched since I was pretty young. I don't remember very much about it, but pretty sure I liked it? But curious to see if it holds up, since it seems to have mixed reviews on IMDB and Letterboxd. And has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 50%... so I am sure we will have plenty to talk about. There was a remake of this movie recently (non-musical though). I haven't seen the remake yet since I wanted to rewatch this first.... My pick is :

    Episode 159 - Sleepwalkers

I don't get their shape-shifting abilities...like can they shape-shift into anything they want? Someone pointed out that scene where he first sees Clovis and is "scared" it looks like his face turns into a little boy for a split-second. So can they shape-shift into anything? Cause we generally only see them turn into the were-cat looking demons. And then Charles could change and disguise his car. Does that mean they can change anything into something else---or is it just limited to cars? And if it's just cars--why? It's a strangely specific power to have.

    Episode 159 - Sleepwalkers

Yeah when I was watching it kind of reminded me of Cat's Eye too, not just because of cats, but because in Cat's Eye the troll is stealing the breath from the little girl as she sleeps. Which is how Sleepwalkers steal the life force out of virgins by sucking it out of their mouths.

    Episode 159 - Sleepwalkers

So after Charles attacks Tanya in the cemetery, she tells the officers his name and address-- and then tells them that she took pictures of him and to develop the film. Why do they need a photo of Charles if they already have a description, his name, and address?? Also, about her taking pictures... shouldn't have Tanya seen Charles in his "true" Sleepwalker form when she was taking his picture? I think she should have been able to see him as the cat-like vampire demon in the viewfinder since many cameras operate with a mirror-system. And we know from when Tanya was visiting their house that we saw "the mom" in Sleepwalker form in the mirror. So she should have been able to get a look of him as the vamp-cat demon through her camera's eyepiece/viewfinder, when trying to snap a photo, and dip out earlier? Idk, I know there are mirror-less cameras, and I do not know much about cameras to know what kind she was using. Can anyone confirm? I figured the whole set-up about getting the pictures developed was that the pic would show him as the cat-demon. But I guess Sleepwalkers' faces are just blurry in photos? And after looking up to confirm how cameras work, I figure she'd at least be able to have seen him in that "form" thru the viewfinder on her camera.

I'm not a big drinker-- don't know much about local beers. OR even know much about bikes (fixies?).. so can't contribute much there.

Second this ^ I had the same feelings, but now wonder... & it's cool to see different interpretations. No me too, I was just looking at Idina's wiki to see more about her marriage to Taye Diggs.. and then recognized the name & connected the dots from Cakebug's post

Sorry for late response to this- but it's something I've been curious about lately from listening to old eps of WTF & You Made it Weird, and some of Joe Rogan's podcast (I'm not a huge fan of him-- I know he calls people out & kind of police 's comedians) You do see in in comedy a lot of comedians will have the similar jokes or joke premises. Which I understand. People can independently have similar thoughts or come up with similar premises, and probably even more so when you're in the same "field". But I feel like lately people are quick to jump to the conclusion that certain comedians are "joke-thieves"/ stealing jokes. Like comedians are getting ripped apart now if they have similar joke premises, and I wonder if it's really necessary to be trying to destroy people's careers over stuff like that? I mean maybe if it's like blatantly stealing... seems like it's a hard to define, and then I wonder who should be policing it? I think it's a little much to destroy or try to destroy people's careers if they truly only had the same thought / some similar "jokes" or premises. *I know this does not have to do with Rent anymore ( sorry! ) but it's something I wonder people's opinions about..

I was thinking the same about putting on my list, but was afraid it would not be appreciated. Soo glad to know someone else likes it too!
