Musical Mondays Week 32 Hustle & Flow

I don't know mayne... I can't say I was rooting for DJ, mayne. I guess I felt a little bad mayne when Luda tossed his tape in the toilet. But mostly at that point mayne, I was thinking Luda's character was a dick too mayne. I did not care if DJ "made it" in the end or not. .
  2. Or if she sold more than umbrellas in her shop
  3. I didn't really like the mother, but I could see where she was coming from. But the way she'd say some things to Geneveive came off the wrong way. But that could've been the translation... She came off a bit too controlling and critical. But moms in movies, and especially "coming of age" movies, are almost always depicted in a similar way. They mean well and want the best for their child, but their delivery is bad. Or what they want for their child isn't what's best but they are unaware.
  4. Just finished watching. I did enjoy this one, But think the continuous/ coversational singing did wear on me a bit. But it's definitely one of the better ones we've covered that is all singing /no spoken dialogue. The story was predictable but I still couldn't help but root for Guy and Genevieve. Even though I knew it wasn't going to have a happy ending. I knew Genevieve would end up getting with Roland but figured itd be much later. She seemed to give up waiting for Guy pretty quick. It was super quick to accept his proposal and marry him...she was still pregnant. Figured she'd give in later or near the end of his 2 years if she still wasn't hearing much from Guy. (I also think her mom was hiding or getting rid of some of his letters). And didn't really understand why Roland wanted to marry her, they barely had much interaction. Wasn't he out of town a lot? Seemed like he met up with her and her mom like 2 or 3 times and they got married.
  5. Cool! I've been meaning to watch this. Been on my watchlist for awhile now.. Look forward to it!

Musical Mondays Pink Floyd's The Wall

Taylor and I would be right there with you. I love Josie and the Pussycats. I thought about picking it before too.. but I always have a few picks I want to discuss and both times I made a panic pick, lol. And sorry I haven't been in the discussions much lately. I watched most of The Wall but didn't finish.

    Episode 179.5 - Minisode 179.5

I believe he only mentioned itunes (& that it was $15) and youtube/ has faith we can find somewhere streaming on internet. I was a little disoriented after the Second Sight trailer played. Cause once the episode ended, I was like "did he not announce next week's movie?". Then I remembered he did.. lol. I was pretty thrown off so he could've mentioned another option I forgot.

    Top/Bottom films of 2017

Yes, the trailers made it seem like it was a horror movie. But it was more of a suspense/thriller sort of movie. I read nothing about it before seeing and only knew what I saw from trailers which were super misleading. From the beginning I felt it set this mysterious and tense mood and it just kept building throughout. I liked that it also wasn't super predictable so that kept me on the edge of my seat. My sister and I loved it, but I could see why some people wouldn't like it if they were expecting a zombie horror.

    Top/Bottom films of 2017

I'm glad someone mentioned It Comes At Night. That's definitely one of my favorites I saw this year too. I was anxious and on the edge of my seat the whole movie. The trailers for it were misleading, and I wasn't sure I was going to see in theaters. But my sister and I ended up seeing randomly and we're so glad we did. I don't know that I can rank them either, but my favorites for 2017 are: Blade Runner 2049 It Comes at Night Get Out The Big Sick LadyBird The Disaster Artist (I'd say these 6 were probably my top favorites and the ones below rank somewhere lower) Star Wars The Last Jedi Coco Logan Good Time-- I agree with Fister, Pattinson was great Beach Rats- I thought the main actor Harris Dickinson was really great. There's still a few from this year I want to check out and hopefully will be able to soon.. like I wanted to see The Shape of Water, I Tonya, Brigsby Bear and Thoroughbreds And I watched a lot of not so great movies this year but most weren't from this year. Idk I'd say the one from 2017 that I really did not like was, Mother! That one also had a very deceiving trailer. But the other 2 I wasn't totally sure about from the trailers--like Get Out and It Comes At Night-- I ended up loving. But Mother! did not sit well with me at all.

Musical Mondays Week 27 Baby Driver

I saw on IMDB and this article : http://collider.com/...r-ansel-elgort/ that Emma Stone was being considered for Debora. I'm sure she could've brought more to the character than Lily did, BUT she went on to do La-La Land instead per IMDB Though I definitely think she could've been a better Debora.. I think she made the better decision Also--- Michael Douglas was being considered for Doc (Spacey's part) and Ansel beat out Lorgan Lerman and John Boyega for Baby. I like to think about alternate casting and how different a movie could've ended up with a different cast. I can picture Michael Douglas as Doc and think he definitely could've pulled it off well. And now wish it was him instead...

Musical Mondays Week 27 Baby Driver

YES. I wanted more Bernthal. I wasn't a huge fan of Foxx in this so I wished that they kept Bernthal around longer instead of bringing Jamie's character in.
  17. I saw in theaters as well because I like Edgar Wright's movies, and also both Jon Hamm and Jon Bernthal My boyfriend does love both Jons as well (he has a big man crush on Bernthal, lol). But Bernthal wasn't in the movie very long.. I do wish his character stuck around longer (or maybe his character stayed instead of Foxx's character) but I'll get into it more next week

Musical Mondays Week 26 The Muppet Movie

Rainbow Connection always gets me in the feels.

Musical Mondays Week 26 The Muppet Movie

I feel the same way. This would bother me in Hey Arnold with Grandpa--he had a weird point on his head. Think Fozzie and Grandpa's heads bothered me because in cartoons when characters would get hit in the head and get a big pointy bump. And then usually they'd hit the bump again or push it down to go away. I think it bothers me cause I want them to push on their pointy heads to get rid of the bump, lol.
  20. Soo, next week will be The Muppet Movie & 12 Dates of Christmas* discussion?? *I'm also in
  21. I am pretty sure I have seen this one. I know I had this one and The Great Muppet Caper on VHS. But don't remember anything from this one / remember Caper better than this one. But more vividly remember the 90s Muppet movies (Christmas Carol, Treasure Island, Muppets from Space) Gonzo was my favorite
