Flowers In The Dirt is pretty good. I might put it in my top 10 depending on the day. There are some decent outtakes with more Elvis Costello from this period with checking out. Ram is essential in part because it's the only true Paul And Linda McCartney album. If pressed, I might call it my favorite Mccartney album. This is too far. Next you'll say you like Back To The Egg. -

If I had to do a top 5, I'd say Mccartney, Ram, Band On The Run, Tug Of War, Flaming Pie which I think are all pretty safe choices. -

This was my thought as well. Before I thought maybe he didn't pick up on the possible meaning of come onto me but now... He's probably thinking "I did 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road' 50 years ago. I'm cool enough to say this now" As for Driving Rain, this is a little bit better so far. But I liked Driving Rain a lot when it came out then cooled off pretty hard on it. It's probably his weakest album of originals since the 80s. -

The other thing is none of these three songs are good enough to be lead singles. They are okay but almost every Paul album has a couple great songs then a bunch of perfectly fine but just okay songs. These three songs should be middle of the album tracks at best. So, I'm worried about the album as a whole if these are the best of the bunch. This is giving me real Driving Rain vibes where I didn't particularly hate any song but I didn't particularly love any song. -

I think you're really giving him some leeway with "I want to love you" being a possibility. But I could see Paul having some dumb explanation like "You know, 'fuh' could mean anything. Sure, it could mean go to bed with someone, but it could be whatever you want it to be." On one hand, it's worse in my mind that Paul isn't willing to to just sing "I want to fuck you." On the other hand, I think it would be worse if he sang it straight out. I'm torn on how to react except it's just so weird. -

Ha. I almost posted here in the mini thread about this song in case you hadn't heard it. When I saw he called a song this, I figured there's no way but, no, Paul just writing a song clearly about fucking. It was a struggle not to laugh at work and I immediately had to text a friend who is a bigger Paul fan than me. We both like the music okay but...uhhh... those lyrics. I hope the album at least has unedited "fuck you" -
For anyone, like me, who doesn't have Amazon Prime, this is available for free on Hoopla digital. It's a free streaming service that a lot of libraries use. If you have a library card, you might be able to use it without having to go to a library at all (other than initially getting the card).

My cats have essentially their own room too. It's because I put the cat stuff in what should be a guest room until "I get around to organizing it" and that was two years ago when I moved. This has more or less expanded into every room being the cat room when I put up shelves specifically for the cats in the living room. -

And it would be unfair to my other cat to not post a picture of her as well. Here is Kitty Pryde -

I don't know why, but I was crying when he's in that box by himself. And I'm thinking "am I going to spend this entire movie upset?" -

Yep. I heard the song and thought "This sounds like Huey Lewis. I thought this was supposed to be Billy Joel music." You're right. It has some places where the animation isn't great. When it's good, it's really good though. I kind of like the unpolished feel of it though it's not as unpolished as say Aristocats. I'll also confess I watched most of this while making supper. So, there was a fair amount of just listening and not watching the screen intently and might have missed some of the flaws. -

I really miss this kind of animation. Not just 2D hand drawn but the fluidity and style. It looks great. I mentioned this on letterboxd but I'm not entirely sure why people talk so much about Billy Joel in this movie. He's perfectly adequate which isn't a ringing endorsement but the vast majority of popular animated movies use celebrity voices that are equal to Billy Joel's performance here without getting the same level of criticism. I'd certainly complain about Cheech Marin more than Billy Joel. I just don't get it as a common criticism. I wouldn't have even noticed it as a possible point of complaint if I hadn't heard so many "lol Billy Joel" kind of stuff about this movie. -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Back-up_Plan#/media/File:Newbupp.jpg Does anyone else think the poster features an unbelievably thin JLo for a movie about pregnant JLo? Wouldn't it make more sense to at least give her a baby bump? Especially since the the movie has her stomach double in size over the course of an evening party? -

Does your friend like bad Jennifer Lopez movies? -
Jason Statham has 7. They did both Crank movies.

Is The Meg the first movie they've announced before it was released?

Why isn't Sopranos or The Wire on this list from the American Film Institute? I agree that we don't really need to give the hosts crap for not emphasizing the word "American" but an American institute can have an opinion on non-American films. And American could easily include any film from North or South America. It's certainly not the Amy's or Paul's problem.
