Monster Trucks is, without question, better than Boss Baby.
-
You don't need to watch Boss Baby at all. It's better than I thought it would be but still not particularly good. Valerian is at least an interesting failure. Visually, its at least interesting enough to warrant seeing and maybe in a theatre.

According to my translation app, imahot mushlamot means "perfect mothers". I wonder how much of the different titles is just for different markets. Even though the titles are English, the rest of the text isn't. A lot of movies have different titles for different markets.

Didn't Paul say in one of the minisodes that he'll have the interns watch some of the suggestions to see if it's worth covering? I'm sure he gets so many suggestions, that unless it's a trusted friend or Jason recommending Gods Of Egypt, that he doesn't have time to watch them, do the podcast and just live his regular life. Especially if it's something like Johnny Mnemonic where he saw it and liked it as a kid, I'm sure he just says to let the intern do it to confirm he's not wasting his time. Poor Naomi Watts. She's such a good actress and she gets so many bad movies. Seeing her name in the cast is typically a sign to avoid a movie anymore.

I always assumed they never read the recommendations. Maybe very early but there are way too many for anyone to realistically keep up with. They do 26 movies a year and there are over 1000 recommendation threads. But, now for the real reason I'm posting: my lifelong research into linking how lizard people created chemtrails had finally come to fruition and I've got conclusive evidence proving it... oh, uhhh, never mind I guess

I happened to see you have it a five star rating on Letterboxd. I'll be very interested to hear your defense if ww all end up hating it.

I've always been curious how much Paul, or the interns, actually even read the recommendations section. I know Paul has asked here for suggestions but there are hundreds of posts in the recommended movies. I know Paul had said things like "people have said for years to do this movie" but does anyone know how much is from the recommendations threads. I'd assume, at this point, Paul gets recommendations every day in person, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

This makes me look really stupid but my white guy face blindness is limited entirely to Captain America: Civil War. For some reason, I could not differentiate between Sebastian Stan and Daniel Bruhl even though they don't look similar, I've seen every Marvel movie and several movies with them. I spent the first two hours thinking Bucky and Zemo were the same person and Bucky was still secretly evil. I was super confused and didn't figure it out until they were on screen together.

People can do what they want to their own bodies. It's unusual to go from apparently no tattoos to a giant back piece in your 40s though.

Not Queen Of The Damned?

I love being surprised and this is the most surprising movie since Bratz. I'm still kind of curious about how HDTGM it is but we'll see. I'll trust Paul. I don't follow HDTGM on any social media except to prepare for the Chicago shows (and I'll probably unfollow them once the shows are over). So, everything is kind of a surprise. But Johnny Mnemonic is way less of a surprise than Adore.

Musical Mondays Week 35 Preview (SlidePocket's 1st Pick)

I remember seeing parts of it several times as a kid and liking it because it felt like a very adult movie. I watched it as an adult and thought it was ok. -

I just assumed we would all include that one naturally because it's objectively great. -

As long as we're including Who's That Girl as a good Madonna movie, I'm fine with this. -
Episode 184 - Johnny Mnemonic: LIVE!

Also, in the story, they used verbal cues instead of pictures of a video to access the stored information. Mnemonic devices are tricks or cues to recall hard to remember information. So, a user is literally using a mnemonic to access information from Johnny. -

I read the short story because I accidentally reserved the book from the library not the DVD. It does explain the dolphin origin. The dolphin was a cyborg trained by the navy. It was addicted to heroin as a way to keep the dolphins loyal and Johnny trades heroin to the dolphin to convince it to help him retrieve the information. I don't know why the dolphin is able to get the information out of Johnny's brain since it uses a device a human could theoretically use. -

Keanu says something like it felt like they uploaded the Library Of Congress. I was curious how big that is. The common answer is 10 TB but one site said it's probably closer to 200+ TB. Even if we looked at the lowball figure, that's 60 times his doubled memory. I'm too lazy to do the math, but imagine the physical size of that hard drive. I mentioned in the minisode topic that, according to the short story, Johnny had "hundreds of megabytes" stored for Ralfi which seems really laughable now. -
I read the short story and Johnny is carrying "hundreds of megabytes".

How depressing do you think it was for Donald O'Connor to be "dancing" to back up Sherman Hemsley singing? -

I think you might have to male an account now. For the last couple, I thought I had to log in. I remember scrambling to find my password. -
I haven't seen this since I was maybe 15. even then it seemed kind of silly (but still kind of awesome).

Let's hold off the praise until we know for certain I can figure out hosting. -

I...I don't know. I thought someone had but I've never hosted before. Now that I think about it, I guess it doesn't make much sense. I can just rent it from Amazon.
