CBB (and all Earwolf?) VIDEO PODCASTS!! (this is actual news, not a suggestion!)
CrustyDustReceptacle replied to johnnyhaggis's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Very, very excited about this, though work commitments will sadly keep me from seeing the inaugural show on Friday. I can only hope the live shows will be archived somehow so that I can still experience it at a later date. Still, color me internetested. -
There can only be one "World's Most Handsome Grandfather", and he will be chosen tonight on this very special episode.

I feel good about this one. It has that certain... je ne sais quois. -
Episode 194 — Me Gusta Characters!

Alternate title: J'aime les personnages! This is by way of saying that both Chelsea and Nick need to pursue French characters. -

Yeah, he arguably has the best moment on the ASSSSCAT DVD (the only other real contender being Andy Daly's now-standard suicide), which I think is still on Netflix for anyone interested. "...Just more water."

This is one of those episodes that only becomes better and better with repeat listens. The first time, I kept waiting for Shelly's fantastical/horrifying twist that normally sends CBB into the stratosphere (i.e. every PFT and Andrew Daly character), but once I realized that he's just the worst storyteller on Earth I was able to fully embrace it and laugh harder than I've laughed at any podcast in weeks. I think it's also worth noting how much of a pro Horatio proved himself to be here. He never broke character or tried to send the show off in a more meta direction (as CBB is wont to do on occasion, and can obviously be hilarious in its own way); he just fully committed to everything Scott and Ben threw at him. I hope he'll be on the show again!

Episode 82 — Dammit That Was a Hot Jam

I believe it's called "Walking With a Ghost." Be warned, though: Jon Daly doesn't appear on sax anywhere in the original song. -
Listeners, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful Fran-ship. *Drescher laugh*

Episode 23 — Guest Host Paul F. Tompkins
CrustyDustReceptacle replied to admin's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Very serious question: who plays Paul McCartney toward the end of this episode? It's driven me crazy since the first time I heard it, and I still can't figure it out. -
I can't believe there hasn't been more discussion of Abel Wimpelbaum, surely one of the greatest characters in podcasting history. His evolution over the course of this episode was amazing to hear. Kyle never disappoints.

Episode 183 — Return to Suicide House

Now that Scott has met his tragic, untimely end... can we finally get this #ripossible thing going or what?! -
This was literally, seriously, legitimately, a good episode.

I think I nailed it this time. -
Hmmmm... do they have meth in Venice?

Comedy Bang Bang has had some strange, strange episodes over the years, but I feel like this one may go down as the single weirdest episode in history. It was like CBB filtered through Lost (or David Lynch), and then filtered again through mescaline; and believe me, I mean that to be complimentary.

Maybe I'm just still in the afterglow of the Breaking Bad finale, but I think this is the greatest thing I've ever heard.

Saying 'open bracket' and 'close bracket' is optional.

Alliteration!

First of all, I dug the episode. Maybe not an all-time great, but it was certainly a pleasant way to spend an hour. Just one thing... and it's not a huge deal, because I know that they can be fast-forwarded through if someone doesn't enjoy them, and it's great for Earwolf to make money any way it can... but could we PLEASE get a new Pepsi Next ad? PLEEEEEASE? It's been on every single Earwolf show for over a month now, and it's getting a bit hard to take. Surely PepsiCo has recorded more than that one spot for their new product? I'm sure it's no problem for the casual listener, but I tend to listen to at least one episode of an Earwolf show every day, and having to hear the exact same ad over and over is kind of a bummer.

This latest appearance only furthers my view of Adam Pally/Bro as a strange comedy enigma. I don't really enjoy his unwillingness to play along with any of the show's regular stuff (as it's hard to tell how much is genuine versus being bad improv character work), but I totally enjoy Scott and Andy calling him out on it every time it happens. Andy was great as always and I am totally on board with the idea of Scott and him moving to Telluride to live together in a cabin. As long as they podcast their experience constantly while doing so.

That Twitter exchange is one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time. *sigh* I need funnier friends.

Episode 156 — Anniversary Party!

If I didn't have a drunk roommate snoring in his bunk to my right, I probably would have literally cried out in joy upon seeing that guest list. This is just... I... -

I enjoyed this. BUMP. -
Indeed; in four appearances on the show, Marissa has fallen from being a Child Genius on track to graduate early to being in a program that sounds suspiciously similar to Special Ed! Maybe that Andy Richter episode left some mental scarring? Regardless, another great appearance from Ms. Wompler.

Episode 153 — Jing It Or Ding It!

FINALLY! For maybe the first time in CBB history, the Would You Rather? theme song receives the respect it deserves!
