I actually found it a bit jarring to hear David trying to be so open and genuine here. I'm a huge fan of his work, and I'm so used to him doing either a version of Stella David or the persona he used on the WHAS reunion episode (which was fucking AMAZING, by the way) that it was kind of weird just to hear him be himself. It was an interesting change, even if his more relaxed delivery hurt a few of his jokes ("I do the same thing with a chocolate chip frappuccino." *silence*). . I think I've already stated (and then promptly backed down from) my opinion of live musical guests elsewhere, and while I agree that the performances (and the non-comedian musicians themselves) can hurt the momentum of the comedy, it doesn't bother me all that much. Where I would differentiate guests like Nick Lowe and Grant-Lee Phillips from ones like Reggie Watts and Don't Stop Or We'll Die, however, is that the music of the latter two is at least partially geared toward comedy. I think that fits in better with the rest of the show. That's not necessarily always the case though, as I absolutely loved Matthew Sweet and Suzanna Hoffs' episode (their cover of "Everybody Knows This is Nowhere" in particular). . I hope this isn't interpreted as me shitting on the show, because I still love it as much as I did when I first heard it over a year ago. Still, as someone who's heard at least one episode of the show every single day for months now, I feel invested in the show's success and wanted to throw in my opinion for whatever it's worth.

I feel that Scott's "YER INTERRUPTIN' MAH FLOW!" isn't getting the credit it's due.

Earwolf Presents has really delivered so far! First Analyze Phish, then Gelmania, then this?! It's almost too much awesomeness to handle.

Fantastic episode! I love when any Earwolf show runs long and gives itself room to breathe; they always end up in very interesting territory. Keep it up, gang!

This may be the funniest end to a Foam Corner yet. I don't know if it was planned for the theme song to start IMMEDIATELY after the end of Harris' last joke, but the immediacy made the joke's lameness that much funnier. Great episode all-around; I was glad to see that Heder was so game for everything.

Yeah, I think we need an episode with Brody, Jimmy Pardo, and Paul Gilmartin where no one introduces themselves and we just have to guess who's saying what at any given moment.

I wasn't one of the people complaining earlier about the live musical guests, but there was definitely something a bit off-kilter about this episode. The editing between Mr Lowe's segments and the show proper was a little jarring, and everyone seemed a little uncomfortable throughout the whole thing. It's understandable that Scott having to juggle these disparate pieces for the entire show would maybe create a little awkwardness, but it seemed to even throw Paul F Tompkins off his game a little. . I can't believe I'm actually complaining about an episode with PFT AND Jon Hamm, but unfortunately it seems I have just done so. Still, for what it's worth, this was by no means a bad show or anything; it just wasn't the home run that the guest list would suggest. I think it will be a good thing when CBB returns to its classic, more-relaxed format in the coming weeks. . EDIT: Having just re-listened to the episode, I've decided that 5:00 AM was probably not the best time to be analyzing comedy podcasts. I was definitely too harsh in my judgement; there is a LOT to like about this episode, and the transitions from guests to musician probably wouldn't be jarring at all to someone who wasn't previously aware that the segments were taped separately. In short, you guys are great and I'm a dumb liar.

I've been listening to this episode a lot lately. There's so much fantastic banter between Scott and Paul throughout the whole thing, and Kyle makes a good counterpoint for all the silliness. And of course, the Ray Romano segment is what people in the biz (business) call a stone-cold classic. Also, this episode is a great example of something that I think CBB hasn't done in a long time: a loose storyline that carries through the entire episode. I love the conceit of playing an entire list of 100 songs within an hour-long comedy show, especially once it becomes clear that we're not even going to start the first one; it's hilarious every single time it comes up, and lends some cohesiveness to all of the show's separate segments. I would love to see this structure picked up again at some point.

Jack and Brian from Carl's Lumber (instant classic) 4. Vinny From Poor Washington (though that entire episode is top-notch) 3. Cake Boss using the word "scarab" 2. Bob Ducca's List of Ailments (this may be the one that made me laugh hardest, just because of its sheer length) 1. Ice T's anger-laughter Honorable Mentions: Any edition of Foam Corner, Dame Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber's many appearances, Marissa Wompler meeting Donald Glover

I have mixed feelings about this one. PFT was hilarious as always, and Yo La Tengo was excellent. Still, I honestly did end up kind of feeling bad for Zach. I get that they're all friends and everything, but his feelings genuinely seemed a little hurt by the end of the episode. I don't think it's necessarily Scott or Paul's fault, as Zach mentioned up top that he was in kind of a bad mood, but I just don't like listening to people feeling actual sadness or anger during this kind of show. I actually feel the same way about Ep. 59 (the one with the first appearance of August Lindt): there is a TON of funny stuff in that episode, but the part where Todd Glass becomes so upset that he threatens to leave keeps me from listening to that particular episode too often. . I don't know, am I being too sensitive about this? There is a lot of humor to be had from fake emotional distress, but genuine stuff like that is kind of a buzzkill to me.

I've listened to this episode 3 times since I downloaded it this morning; I think that speaks for itself. Definitely what people in the biz would call a "stone-cold classic." By the way, I'm glad that the response to this episode hasn't been as divisive as I first expected. There are always going to be a few people who simply don't understand this kind of humor (along with the small but vocal group who just don't like it), but listening to Chelsea's "character" showcase devolve into the scene at the disco is CBB at its very best, in my opinion. I'm glad the majority of people on here seem to agree. The show has really been particularly fantastic during the last few weeks; keep doing what you're doing, Scottabot.

Why not just have Reggie Watts come in and provide the catchphrase every week? I mean, he already has to be there to perform the theme song, right?
