On the second listen through I noticed that Jason mentions Three Dog Night whose hit "One" used numbers as metaphores. Scott wins again

Jason was thinking of Ben Alterman who made an appearance on episode 46 trying out a comedy routine he was planning to perform at his grand-daughter's sweet 16 birthday party. Here's his appearance on 9 sweaters!

This is like all the excitement of the superbowl except this time I care! -
Looks like The Box Tops had a bit of a jokester in the band. (about 45 seconds in he starts his antics) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIWY8UyW9bw Reminds me a little of Nirvana's goofy "Smells Like Teen Spirit" lip-sync performance for the BBC, though quite a bit toned down. Also, how awesome was this Alex Chilton fellow? Pioneering the necktie and t-shirt combo, having a #1 hit tune at the age of sixteen, and then later fronting Big Star.

Seeing Josh Homme on the recent IFC show reminded me what a funny guy he can be. I've also noticed that he's been making the podcast rounds recently (Nerdist, WTF, Mohr Stories), and even though Rocktober is over I think he'd be a swell guest on the podcast. Example included:

Episode 58 — Mystical Sex

Checked my youtube account for the first time in a while when I got home, and somebody else also seems to be working on a documentary featuring Bruce Howard. Looks like it's more about early Seattle public access in general. https://www.facebook.com/ChannelingYourself -
Episode 58 — Mystical Sex

I've been deeply intrigued by Bruce Howard since I first saw his cable access show in around 2001ish. Great to hear him on the show! A little update on him. Somebody recently contacted me through YouTube because of a couple videos of him that I uploaded. He claimed to be gathering as much video as he could in effort to make a documentary on The Reverend. I don't really know how serious this person was, and haven't really followed up on it, but It seems like there's an interesting story there and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he was for real. -

This commercial actually happened. I was in junior high when I used to hear it on the radio, so obviously it was one of the most hilarious things to me at the time

This is genuinely awesome!
