I think some episodes are enhanced by watching the movie beforehand, but this does not sound like it would be the case. However, it does sound like listening to the episode would enhance watching the movie though (which I think is true for all of the movies they have done)

I did not watch this movie, so I am completely surprised to find out that there is espionage and a gang bangs in this film.

Maybe they'll edit it and rename Guy Peace's character "Shark Pliskin" and he can be Snake's little brother.

Also, two weeks ago when I read the podcast description on the mini and it said they were doing a movie about a man who really really hates a skeleton I thought "That's a rough thing to say about Jamie Lee Curtis."

I have an odd fascination too (and the same goes for Mormons and Scientologists, which I have had the fascination of long before it was fashionable), and I know some who are very nice people. Even though I do not see eye to eye with them on most issues, I feel bad when they are mercilessly mocked just because they see the world differently. I have also seen Fireproof out of morbid curiosity. I will say, I thought that it was not a good movie, but not a terrible movie and at least the non religious stuff was coming from a good place. The worst part about it was probably the attempts at comedy.

I just wanted to bump this to say that The 13th Warrior is a goddamn 100% accurate representation of actual events compared to the piece of dog shit that is Pathfinder.

I watched this last night and I think it rides the border of intentionally absurd an campy. The scene where he is measuring the body parts of the prostitutes is pretty absurd. Honestly I am torn if this would make a good episodes or not, but I think it is worth watching.

FYI Best Worst Movie is on Hulu for free. I think that they would have to put in a lot of work to top that.

I like that they made Sam Bowden a less ethical lawyer in this one, it at least gave Max Cady more of a reason to blame him and stalk him than in the original. I think DeNiro does a great job as a psychopath in this movie, it's peak DeNiro. The only that I think doesn't work is the plot resolution, it's a bit sloppy, and the special effects leave something to be desired, but I think this is far from Scorsese's worst. And does it really feel like an over the top comedy for any reason other than Cape Feare?

When people say things like this, I wonder if they have seen any actually terrible movies.

I hope the guest is Kevin Corrigan (don't know if anyone else caught that) Also, I hope that this is just the first in a run of Friends movies.

Wow, the guy who wrote this is named Steffen Schlachtenhaufen. That is one of the most jokey made up sounding names I have ever heard.

I guess though, I don't know why there has to be this binary set of options that the movie has to be completely faithful to the book or it has to be something completely original. Why can't it be something that is based on ideas from the book, but is still excellent in its own right? The book can be great, and the movie with all of its changes can also be great. Although, I don't think Hardcheese was saying that it was the most faithful adaptation or the best representation of King's material, but the best movie that has come from King's material and many would argue that it is because it deviates so much from the book.

So many belly laughs from this thread. Whenever I am having a bad day I listen to this and it picks me up.

I am actually surprised at how many gifs there are of Travolta gyrating his hips from this movie.

Although now that I think about it John Travolta doing aerobics sounds like a horror movie to me
