Yes! This movie is awful in terms off being loud/quiet. You'll have the soundtrack blaring at house shaking levels and then it will switch to Eddie Redmayne angrily whispering nonsense about harvesting. Also, Redmaybe and Bean worked together in Black Death (which I understand a lot of people strongly disliked, but I enjoyed for what it was)

Alternate title for this film could be "Cinderella Carter of Jupiter," however that would inadequately convey just how many movies this film is a hodge podge of. I just finished. So glad that I had a bunch of free time this morning to watch this movie. Wow. I am looking forward to hearing their take on that bureaucracy sequence. Did anyone else get a King Koopa from Super Mario Bros vibe from Redmayne's character? Some of his minions felt sort of like Goombas. And part of me likes to think that this has a space opera Island of Dr. Moreau element to it. My favorite line in the movie: "I have more in common with a dog than with you" "I love dogs, I've always loved dogs" I think I know what June would have to say about that...

Yes. The original had ambiguity working in its favor, there were a lot of questions as to whether the house was haunted or the character was insane and creating the chaos. The remake has ZERO ambiguity, bad CGI and some lame story about an identical stranger.

I started to watch it and got bored. It felt Sharknado-esque and the Shaknados are my least favorite movies that they do on HDTGM.

I had the opposite reaction; I loved it. The "teeny wangers" line was gold, the "dookie?!" line was gold, Hulk was the MAN, Zeus was a scary bad guy, Kurt Fuller's character was totally believable, etc. -
I know, Thomas Jane can read people's fucking minds and the best he can do is becomes a pretty terrible therapist?!?! Maybe Lewis is supposed to have Wolverine healing or something like that since he gets mangled by a car and a few months later he is hanging out like it was NBD.

Can anyone explain the powers? The more I think about it the more confused I become: - Olyphant got the clunky finger swirl power - Jane got the mind reading power that in 20 years he seems to be ignorant that he's getting sensitive info from people's heads - Lewis also seems to have gotten mind reading or some kind of resistance to mind control, or the power to turn guns into telephones - Did Jason Lee not get a power?

Can we talk about how Zeus is a psychotic father? Herc is bored at home so his dad banishes him from Mt. Olympus, sending him to the middle of the ocean! Then when he manically changes his mind and wants Herc to come back, but Herc refuses he seriously considers sending what is essentially an assassin after him to banish him to hell! -

Point taken, it is hard to argue that taking home a big half naked muscly guy is a totally heterosexual move. Although I think in the 80s or 90s it would be more overt and he would be over the top (ala Cleavon Little in Once Bitten) and there definitely would be a gag about someone trying to hit on Herc and he naively not understanding.

Wow. This is easily one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life. I suspect that it's actually a secret ploy by the Ayn Rand institute to discredit people who are against capitalism. And that near rape beach scene made Game of Thrones look like the "Dudley gets molested" special episode of Diff'rent Strokes. Madonna's character is one of the most unlikeable (and I know she's supposed to be unlikeable) characters in the history of cinema, and being mean and nasty comes so so so much more naturally to her than being loving and vulnerable. I imagine that when her friends came back to the boat and she and Pepe were gone they gave up waiting on her pretty quickly. This is billed as a comedy and there are things in there that are delivered like jokes, but are the antithesis of funny.

I feel like if this movie had been made in the 80s or 90s there would have been a wacky gay overtone to Pretzie. Also, is anyone shocked to hear the audible car noise in the background of the Mt. Olympus scenes?
