There has been a 3rd one with the return of Xander Cage that has been in limbo for a while.

Just want to point out that Good Deeds is on Netflix instant and it seems like it has a very similar plot.

I felt like this movie was the equivalent of a poorly told campfire tale where the storyteller's reaction was as if the twist is up there with the ending to Oldboy, but the reality is that there are scarier goosebumps stories. It would be a good one for a HDTGM Halloween episode. La Haine was excellent, The Crimson Rivers was a bad ripoff of Se7en with a bit of Boys From Brazil thrown in.

Honestly I didn't think this movie was that terrible or ridiculous, just kinda boring "pulp sci-fi trying to take itself too seriously." I'd much much much rather see them do XXX than this. -
I think it's slightly different, more robust than say American Pie or Frideberg/Seltzer because Perry regularly sells out gigantic venues for his live shows and has multiple shows on TBS. Maybe in a sense it's more akin to Kirk Cameron or Blue Collar Comedy. But it's why I suggested someone like Charlie Murphy (or maybe another African American comedian who would be easier to get, although I think Charlie is a good sport and may be getable). It's easy to judge these movies and poke fun at them, it's difficult to examine the cultural divide in an entertaining manner.

One of my favorite quotes in the whole movie:
-
Tyler Perry is better than Uwe Boll in the sense that Diarrhea is better than Cancer.

I watched CSTC a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it, especially the story of Trent Acid . It's funny though 'cause I haven't watched wrestling in probably 20 years and I enjoy documentaries about it now. There's something that's fascinating about the real side of something so fake. I'm going out on a limb to bet you've seen Bigger, Stronger, Faster*. That's another great documentary tangentially related to wrestling.

I DARE you to not cry when listening to Kenny Loggins' "Meet Me Halfway"

Over the Top will also add Terry Funk for Road House & Over The Top (and if you're a fan of the movie The Wrestler, the documentary Beyond The Mat is worth watching and has a lot of plot elements for The Wrestler)

Doug "I Haven't Worked Since I Married a 16yr Old" Hutchison is Golum in Batman & Robin and Loony Bin Jim in Punisher: War Zone.

Tyler Perry is to Spike Lee, what Uwe Boll is to Tyler Perry.

Spike Lee has been doing that for ages, but without the same success as Perry.

I would love for them to get someone like Charlie Murphy or Kevin Hart to discuss these movies with, maybe it can help us white people understand their popularity.

What else should we expect from a mad rapper?

For whatever reason the TV was on ABC Family (my wife was probably watching a Harry Potter movie) and this movie was on. This is definitely in the bad comedies realm that would work for HDTGM. There's a scene where she gets her hair caught in the intake of a hairdryer so she throws it into the tub, while it's still running and turns the water on. This movie is bizz-onkers.

Oh I got ya, you meant production limbo was the sign of a poor quality product, which is usually right. And with that said, is anyone else a little surprised that they didn't push RIPD back to september instead of releasing it in the middle of the summer, right up against another Ryan Reynolds movie?
-
Ok, I clearly just watched the movie last night and listened to the podcast today because I definitely said things that they covered in the podcast.
-
I don't think it was so surprising. Zombieland did well at the box office a couple of years ago, The Walking Dead is one of the most watched shows on TV, Brad Pitt has a good track record and the book was pretty good.

Did anyone watch this as a sequel to Home Alone? Mr. McCallister is a broken man. Mrs. McCallister left him for a younger man, none of his kids will talk to him except for Kevin, who lives in the guest house. Kevin has been unable to move on with his life, haunted by his demons of being hunted by two creepy burglars and having had to fend for himself, not once, but twice. One day while Mr. McCallister is drinking at his favorite bar, far away from his house a shark hurricane hits, leaving Kevin stranded at home to fend for himself.

That review makes this sound like a HTDGM must. I like this one too: http://www.nypost.com/p/entertainment/movies/dead_on_arrival_CKfuMyyEw7dU6wzfgTlv0J?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=Movies "Every movie coming out this year but “R.I.P.D.” should pause for a big sigh of relief: The possibility of any of them being called the worst cinematic effort of 2013 has, as of today, just about disappeared. As for “R.I.P.D.,” I’ve got some bad news for you..."
