Episode 71 — Nicole Byer, Our Close Friend
Scooby Donkers replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
Oh yeah that sounds right. How fucking dumb. And you are right that otherwise the CMOS reasoning here makes perfect sense. I don't know why I like the s+apostrophe, honestly. -

Wait, one other thing while I'm here: Chicago Style has it "Hayes's" (except, I think, in certain situations like Biblical names in which the s+apostrophe construction is standard.) That's also what Strunk and White says. I guess they reserve the s+apostrophe construction for plural possessives. Usually I'd agree, because simplicity and clarity are the main goals, and it's nice to separate overlapping rules. But I like the look of s+apostrophe as a singular possessive for a word ending in s. Especially with proper nouns, where confusion is unlikely. Words are fun. -

Over in another forum [name redacted] I was just cruisin around and some user [redacted] offered to cybersuck my [redacted], so naturally I was like, "Sure, what is that, like 2 maybe 3 likes?" And [redacted] just laughed like, "Damn, boy, couple a likes won't get your [redacted] [redacted]. you want me to rhetorically wrap my [redacted] around your [redacted] and [redacted] till you [redacted], you gotta pony up 50 likes just for starters." And it's not like I'm made of likes, new system or not, so I was just sighed and said, "Just gimme the [redacted}, but will you at least cup my [redacted]?" So long story short I'm out 10 likes and it was NOT worth it -

Guys, when did the "like" quota go away? I'm concerned that this is a monkey's paw situation bc I don't know if the freedom I always dreamed of is all it was chalked up to be. -

Oh! I missed that, but that's what exactly what SS was describing. It's CBB no. 52, and she's like "I know I should delete that from my phone bc it looks so real." Then Scott asks Harris if his sexual weirdness stemmed from the fact that he got his first blowjob at his bar mitzvah, surrounded by a protective wall of his friends. Which is pretty fucked up, I guess, but also pretty baller? (Can anything at a bar mitzvah be baller? In mine, the closest thing would've been the klezmer band clarinetist. Dude could wail.) -

Sarah Silverman describing the Sarah Silverman Program writing room: "Sometimes when we hit a rough patch and we're just kind of sitting around and not laughing and no one's coming up with ideas, Harris would just like stand up, pull down his pants and underwear, and sit back down like a-- like a stubborn baby." -

Hey guys, I just listened to today's CBB. Even though this is my first post about Harris' death, I want you guys to know that the forum was the first place I went for a sense of community grieving. It felt great to read, and it really helped with my feelings of weirdness/crassness at feeling so strongly about this while the people who really knew him are mourning. Listening to CBB today, I went back through your posts again. Comforting. So, at the risk of repeating what you've all said so well already: I've never been so shaken by the death of a stranger. I've been listening to that show since almost the very beginning (bc no friends), which means almost six years now, through some difficult times in my own life. A lot lilke honlads, I associate podcasts, and CDR/CBB in particular, with comfort during a time when I felt kinda lost, a bit like how I treated early Simpsons episodes when I was younger. Like all of us, I've obviously felt that special intimacy that this podcasting medium can foster. I think Scott addressed those feelings sweetly and with poise. But mostly it's been great to have this forum to turn to. Thanks, guys, you're all very nice/cool/funny. Just a random standout Foam moment: after that Tapas the Mornin' to Jah joke I think, when St. Vincent goes "oh," like out of genuine distress, and HW is like, "She held her hands out like, 'Why?' like she was an English village woman and I was pillaging her land." He was pretty great.- 390 replies

1. This whole dream post is very good 2. What if there really were cheese wrappers on all hambrgr how is that not a thing already 3. I think on That 70s Show they WERE supposed to be smoking pot when they were in basement, but they couldn't show it, but I'm realizing now that it's a very clever film trick so you know that's what they were doing I made the mistake of using all my likes before freja's first post, which is actually against a rule of thumb. I always take a deep breath before reading hers out loud in one big rush. I'm reading VERY interesting article and I'm now thinking that maybe I'm NOT suis Charlie Hebdo. I have sophisticated opinion -

what should really be happening is a chatroom thing plus video somehow, although I don't know how that would work and I probably won't take steps to make it happen. -

Hey I just realized Sean & Hayes, S & H, like shipping and handling. Does this count as a joke? I don't think so but look, the standards are v weird around here & half the time I don't even think the boys are trying to make jokes, but more like dramedy. I consider this forum to be a dramedy, a lot like that show Weeds or OITNHotness
