Dear Lord Pendleton, I seen some of your stand em ups and I notice you sometimes mispronounce stuff or say it weird on purpose. Is that funny? -

You criminals all make me sick. What are you, poor? Where did you people even learn to type? Or are you just laboriously hunting and pecking by the light of a garbage can fire, huddling close around a stolen 1999 IBM ThinkPad? Degenerates. -

"tartan," what is that like Scottish or something, why don't you go paint your face blue and play golfing or whatever Yeah, that's right, this is me hazing you with ethnic stereostypes, ever heard of em? Newer club members like me are always the least welcoming of other cool new guys. Like that expression, Converse makes the best Zeligs, you know? probably something about a Woody Allen shoe endorsement, I don't really understand the details -
Episode 43 — Alex Borstein, Our Close Friend

I noticed the same thing, along with a troubling downward trend beginning sometime around my appearance in ep 40. Coincidence? Before you draw any hasty conclusions, I'd like to direct your attentions to the fact that ep 40 was also the first appearance of a forum pal on the radio program itself. I rest my point. No point intended. -

And now I will just take the baton from freja and put us over the top into triple-digit posting territory. Just in case we don't get there organically. Yeah. That feels good. -

I get it, like an electrician who moonlights delivering Redvines and Mike & Ikes to movie theaters -

Hey that makes me think about something directly relevant. Remember in Babar the elephant guy when the ol' elephant king is chomping some mushrooms but the mushrooms is really poison toadstools? -

greggy's instant self-"likes" actually subconsciously predispose me to like stuff, too. pretty slick. Is that greggy or Jon Draper? You know, like from that show? Of the Mad magazine advertising guys? That show's biggest mistake was not getting Sergio Aragones to do the title sequence. Also, Tim, whadja do, take off the windscreen and ask your camera friend to just blow on the mic? I haven't had that much empty wind in my ear since my last visit to Congress! (sick burn) To clarify, it was a very windy day & I forgot my hat. -

Two bleak, naturalistic vignettes from Val (do people call you Val? or rather, can I call you Val?) and Chanson. Which is, incidentally, exactly what I come here to read. I started driving v late (like around 19-20), in large part due to a degenerative eye condition, for which I've since had two corneal transplants, which means I have the corneas of some generous dead folks. BLEAK ENOUGH FOR YOU, YOU INSATIABLE MONSTERS? But also this sharing of real human experiences, and the accompanying vulnerability, makes me uncomfortable. What I really came to say is that I RT'd Hayes' bullshit standing up competition thing & I came up with a good nickname: Hayes "Is For Horses" Davenport. You can even add "Sofa" at the end, bc that's funny. Wordplay. -

so wait, freja are you like the MVPoster around here or what I don't know where this whole [pretending to be cool friends n stuff] joke thing started, and I think it's in poor taste, but I could read freja's porty-like-a-rockguy recaps all day. in novel form. -

My bad Chanson, it does seem a bit more on the nose than it oughta be. If I wanted to discuss a show in a forum, I'd be over at the Nerd Guy podcast empire, am I right? You know, that comedy referee from the show on comedy central at 12:00 am. Pointing Also, that one with the b & w picture of the two hot chicks in underwear kissing -

Waait a second, I think you're right! Good eye, TKS. Good lookin out. As for you, "Bonny," which I'm guessing isn't your real name, you thought you could just slip into this mutual exchange of positive feelings and soak in some of those tasty, tasty compliments on some BULLSHIT TIP? Well, pal, you've got another thing coming. Clean up your whole entire act, buster. edit: ok, it looks like 3 of those punching guys actually were also guesting on the pro version eps. i'm sorry i blew a casket, it's just that injustice makes me so mad i can't even typing. it's a finely homed sense of social morays -

Perhaps a more precise / equally fun exercise would be to pick out individual moments (to make it relevant, I'll specify that these be moments with guests, but we can abandon that stipulation pretty quickly). Off the domepiece: At the very end of the Helbig ep when Grace is like, "This is how you end?" with genuine disbelief. When Corddry was like, "Speak on that," and it just bussed the boys' whole entire shits right up. (Because that's what the boys say, usually they say "Speak on that.") When Benny Shwaz starts singing "Aaaaaaaahhh BREAKOUT, beep-beep, poot-poots" after Hayes says something nice, and then Hayes says, "You're a good compliment-accepter" SO MUCH of the Pally reactions, but esp when he starts talking shit about Lamorne in response to the boys' baiting. I think he says something like, "Lamorne is like 50 fucking years old" When BJ Novak is like, "You have a strange relationship with plurals" Edit: Please note that I say this activity might be "equally fun," compared to the single-ep lists we've been doing. That's because I'm not convinced that this type of listing is any fun at all. I want to make that clear up front. But I seem to derivesome kinda feeling from it, if only simple recognition, acknowledgement of shared experience, and the resulting personal validation that I do, in fact, exist in a world among others. -

Ok, yes, this is a necessary conversation. I was always a little shocked in my board-lurking days that this listing hasn't already taken place several times. (maybe it has, once? Or in smaller bursts? Whatevsies). I'll just echo the support for Bozos' list. Very strong. Also agata & Scones, for mentioning other faves of mine in Jess/Len & Helbig (Scones) and Corddry (agata). I always have trouble placing the most recent eps among my pantheon of faves. I fall prey to that "hip" (I guess?) or nerdy trap of according status only after time has passed. But needless to say, I've listened to every ep multiple times bc no friends. So I know what's up, just like all y'all nerds. I'll just add that I loved the Shelby Fero ep, for the special simpering, lickspittle dynamic with the boys tryna act young. -

Wait so to be clear, it's not weed drugs, it's a box for heating up small childrens because is burning clean toys? It's especially confusing bc it's an advertisement that DOESN'T imply I'm a fat nerd who can't dress myself. More ads for expensive randomized collectibles, please, okay? thanks -
