I talked about this film a bit in the "The Identical" thread in regards to the string of faith-based movies that came out earlier this year, so I'm just going to copy-and-past this bit right here... "Also, there's "God's Not Dead", about a kid that's taking a class that he shouldn't be fucking taking in the first place if he's a total holy roller. Kevin Sorbo is the evil philosophy professor or something, and he makes his students sign or write something saying that God is dead or God doesn't exist (which are actually kind of two different things, aren't they?), which accounts for like half of their overall grade. That sounds fucking crazy anyway, like something that wouldn't really happen, and this kid, rather than change his schedule to something more appropriate, sees it as a challenge. I saw a scene where someone DOES basically say "Hey, how about changing classes instead of being an asshole and telling someone else how to do their own job and being the kid in class that everyone wishes would shut the fuck up?" (but in a totally PG manner), and he responds with "I think God WANTS me to defend him, so there's no way I'm quitting". Contrary to what Robert Tepper led us to believe all those years ago, there IS an easy way out, but this little prick stuck around to pick a fight. Sorbo ultimately loses the debate, because the script said that he had to, and to add insult to injury, he's run over by a car and killed. Because Jesus, guys. Because Jesus."

Episode 95.5 — Minisode 95.5

I'd forgotten about that, but I was going to say something too! I know I was thinking "Wait, did he say that she said 'I did it better'?". -

This is a perfect time to change my profile pic... This actually WASN'T taken at the same time or place as the Lloyd pic, but I do believe it was the same month, like three weeks apart. I live in Evans City, ground zero for the Romero-verse, and he came and accepted an award and talked at my school (Slippery Rock University) in April 2006. More on-topic, it turns out that my friend Dave was around when "Monkey Shines" was being filmed, and he recalls seeing an over-sized prop phone. "Why was it over-sized", you might ask? It's so that it looked the right size in the close-ups when a regular-sized man wore a monkey glove in shots where the monkey appeared to be picking up a phone. Movie magic! Edit: I don't know why the hell it won't let me upload it as my profile pic... -
That's what he gets for being a lone wolf!

I don't remember much from it (I saw it in theaters, bought the DVD, and then managed to never watch it again), but I do recall a part where someone's like "He's Satan, guns won't do anything to him!", which is of course followed by another hour and a half of everyone trying to stop Satan with guns. -

I've had the Friday the 13th Blu Ray set for a year and have yet to watch it in high def, so this would be a perfect excuse! The effects weren't great to begin with, it certainly hasn't aged well on top of that, so I imagine that this will further expose it. Hell of a fun flick though! -

And I also wonder if it's going to mean a damn thing after the episode comes out! Seriously, I'm sure everything will be fine, and we can go back to just making fun of everything. -

And the loved ones they had to leave behind, sitting alone in the dark, waiting for their servicemen to come home to help them replace the light bulbs that they somehow can't change by themselves... -
Doesn't she get out on a boat with him too at some point? He totally could have "Dexter"-ed her out there.

Yeah, I was going more for the "She was so unmemorable as a character that I can't bother to remember anything about her other than she was the other friend" thing. I don't even remember what ethnicity she was, because I think I already have her confused with other "other ones" in movies I've watched since re-watching "Glitter" a couple of weeks ago. -

Not really, because we at least knew who everyone else was. you've got Mariah, Da Brat, and...the other one. -
Maybe they should make Cloud 10 cloudier so that they don't need an 11!

I see no similarities at all. In fact, I don't know who in their right mind would run the risk of having themselves associated or confused with that classic...I mean, abomination.

To be fair, I think the phrase "COCAINE PLEASE!" has played into at least 80% of the film's that HDTGM has covered (the jury's still out on "Timothy Green"), but it's usually BEHIND the scenes. -

Oh, and in the Nic Cage "Glitter", why can't Dice still be Dice? I don't want it to become a completely different film. I just want Cage to be the Mariah Carey part and everyone else to be the same. He'd still hang out with the girls, people would still question his ethnicity, skeezy music video directors would still try to get him to wear less. Cage would even play baby Cage at the beginning and would be older than his mother. -

Speaking of Buzzfeed, I fucking hate articles like "20 Things Only Parents Would Understand". What? Kids can be a time-consuming, expensive pain in the ass sometimes? I don't have kids, but I'm pretty sure that I knew that, and I don't need to HAVE kids to know this. It sounds like the parents didn't know that this was going to be a problem... -
HDTGM Special Edition: Gotham pilot
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to rootbeercomics.com's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
I thought it was fine, but I'm not a fan of all the name-dropping of minor or supporting characters that, if they trusted the audience a little more, the audience could probably figure out on their own. If not right away, maybe after a couple of appearances. We get it, it's the world of BATMAN. Not everybody needs to be a somebody in the first episode. -
The original is actually the first movie that I ever remember seeing in a theater, and I know I saw it a million times on TV as a kid, but I don't remember many of the specifics. I want this new one to come out just so that I never have to see the trailer again.

I'd forgotten that "Panic Room" was his. "The Game" was kind of implausible, sure, but I remember "Panic Room" just being fucking stupid. You spend the movie being about 10 steps ahead of the characters ("Oh yeah, we could use the cameras that we've been watching for the last two hours to our advantage!"), and having lived in a place with all hardwood floors, I find it impossible to believe that no one hears anyone else towards the beginning when the crooks are bitching at each other on the first floor while Jodie Foster is still up and about on the third, when no one knows that anyone else is in the building yet.

In a somewhat unrelated note, I don't remember asking for Sean Connery to talk ghetto either, but dammit, I'm thankful for it...
