    Annie (2014)

I've had the trailers, behind-the-scenes vignettes, etc. playing at my theater for what feels like about 15 years now, and I STILL have no idea when it comes out.

    Upside Down

NOT THE BEES! Someone had to do it...

    Moonwalker

I think I remember the video games being pretty great, particularly the arcade version. The Sega Genesis one was fine, but completely different, as it was back in the day when they couldn't even hope to copy the arcade version at home, so they didn't even try.

I'm holding out for "McDonald Family Origins: GRIMACE", or maybe a Mayor McCheese story, showing his early days as City Counselman McCheese.

    Episode 94 — Glitter: LIVE!

While I understand the shit sandwich analogy, I'm not sure that that's the best example, because it's actually HDTGM's JOB to deliver shit sandwiches to us on a (pretty much) bi-weekly basis. They don't just throw it in our faces and make us eat it alone though. They pull up a seat and split it with us, and maybe put some ketchup on it, some mustard, maybe some sliced tomatoes or something, all to help it go down easier and at least make it FEEL like we didn't just sit down and chow down on a plate of poo.

For real though, guys, the audio during the chicken masturbation scene better be FLAWLESS, or else I'm SO going to go on a rant on LiveJournal, and I'm going to post so much blinky and flashy shit on your MySpace page that you'll go blind and never use it again.

I nominate Fervel for being the Omission of the Week!

    Episode 94 — Glitter: LIVE!

Sure, I expect this kind of outrage in the YouTube comments section under a video of a child and/or kitten doing something adorable and clumsy, but it has no place here, mister! Now, if bad sound quality makes me miss a single MOMENT of conversation about Miley's friend finger-blasting a raw chicken during the "LOL" live ep, shit WILL get real in a hurry.

    Episode 94 — Glitter: LIVE!

To be fair, regardless of what they try to tell us, everyone is in so much of a rush that all of the events of the movie APPEAR to take place over about a week, which is hardly enough time to buy a house, change into a different shirt, or develop into anything more than a one-dimensional character. If you'll excuse me now, I have to go, because I'm on in five...

    Episode 94 — Glitter: LIVE!

For some reason, the English version of the clip that I found had no sound, but you'll get the idea... And he was deemed "not economically viable" 8 years BEFORE making "Glitter"!

    LOL

Smigg, were you one of the writers on the "Saw" franchise? If so, I commend your ability to explain what every character, no matter how big or small, was doing during every second of the day, no matter how little it mattered or how much it unnecessarily overcomplicated what should have been a very simple story, and how you've now honed and turned those talents towards the ULTIMATE in torture porn, "L-O-fucking-L".

    Iron Sky (2012)

It's still a staple of shitty "comedy" though. I mean, sure, while the woman continues to make an ass of herself to this day, she became irrelevant pretty quickly. It's an easy go-to though for the Seltzer/Friedberg set and for movies made elsewhere where she's one of the few notable American political figures that you could recognize right off the top of your head.

    Episode 94 — Glitter: LIVE!

After having to watch "LOL", I think that chicken soup would be the LAST thing he'd need. I'm happy to do a shift on clown patrol though.

    Episode 94 — Glitter: LIVE!

Can the next mini ep be June and Jason discussing "LOL"? I'd hate to think that they watched it for nothing. My God, to have watched this movie in vain...

And that could leave the door open for Kahn to come back and do an episode for "Detention". BAM. Kaaaaahhhhhhhn!!!

    Episode 94 — Glitter: LIVE!

I looked that up right away, because the only version I was aware of was the Robert Palmer one, which I didn't know was a cover, that came along a little later. There was quite a bit of music that was out of place in this film by a couple of years, which goes along with the theory that they retroactively made it it take place earlier than they had intended. Even saying 1985 would have made more sense. For instance, Lionel Richie, who had an amazing decade, totally killed it in 1984, which would support the fact that that he'd clean up at the 1985 Generic Music Awards in the film. The album that most of those songs came off of was released in 1983, but music awards have always been pretty fucked when it comes to what can be nominated and when. Speaking of that, anyone notice after the "It's the 80s, people want to dance!" conversation that we got a lot of hit non-dance music from the period?

    Episode 94 — Glitter: LIVE!

I'm not sure that I buy this Magical Realism nonsense. I mean, this film is so firmly rooted in reality that it's practically a documentary, right?

    Episode 94 — Glitter: LIVE!

I haven't heard the show yet, but I'm curious to see if they talk about the whole "We've just found out that you've been invited to perform at the USA Music Awards, and we better hurry, because you're going on in like TWENTY MINUTES" thing.

    Roller Blade (1986)

Maybe it's an unintentional "Nundercover" prelude (prequel would be wrong, since I'm pretty sure that this came out first), or a "backdoor pilot" for the "Nundercover" franchise, much like how people forget that "Machete" is actually a spin-off of the "Spy Kids" movies!

    The Game (1997)

I haven't seen the film since theaters, so I don't know if it holds up to the "Everything had to work out exactly the way that it did to get to this without someone dying" ending on a repeat viewing, but if the movie DOES fail itself, I'd be up for some discussion, because it's always fun when a movie betrays it's own logic for the sake of a shocking twist ending, such as when a monstrous masked serial killer with superhuman strength is ultimately revealed to be a petite girl with absolutely no fighting ability. "The Game" could be good crazy, and I'd be happy to finally re-visit it if HDTGM or a similar podcast did a show on it.

    Glitter

To be fair, it was a different time. My parents took me to the bar alllllll the time when I was a toddler in the late 70's/very early 80's. Apparently, they used me to win bar bets, beating their drunk friends at Asteroids and Centipede. Still though, I'm sure it wasn't nearly as ridiculous as whatever they do in this film.
  23. PlanBFromOuterSpace

    LOL

With all the awful, awful shit that people are saying and doing in front of each other in this movie, I too wondered why Miley would be SO concerned about anyone seeing her shitty conversation, because we know that she (and everyone else in this movie for that matter) doesn't have a fucking ounce of shame.

Am I the only one that loves the Wes Craven's "Shocker"? It's such a weird flick in that the first half seems to be a completely different type of film from the second half, where it goes from being about a hunt for a pretty brutal serial killer that murders entire families to a supernatural body-jumping flick. Peter Berg has dreams about where the murders will take place because it's a Wes Craven movie, and then that kind of goes away when he starts communicating with his dead girlfriend instead. It has one of my favorite soundtracks from when I was a kid, highlighted by the Megadeth cover of Alice Cooper's "No More Mr. Nice Guy". Anyway, I don't think this movie gets talked about as much as it should, good or bad.
  25. PlanBFromOuterSpace

    LOL

Bonus points to this movie though for shitting all over another country's culture while the characters are visiting said country. It's like in "Rush Hour 3" when Chris Tucker makes fun of Chinese people speaking Chinese in CHINA.
