There's way too much going on in this to pinpoint a particular thing about it, but I just love it.

What are we looking for?

Starts at 3:05.

I just got round to watching last week's episode with Victor Ramos. What a laugh riot!
Â
"Wait, you're making it into a show now?!"

If we get a b-b-bonus Halloween special on Thursday and it's half as good as Fang Fang usually is, this will have been a real grandstand week for the podcast.
Â
Also, DeBoer is a strong contender for best character debut of the year.

"Hackers don't die, we just code away".
Â
10/10 episode.

Pavement is grad school rock, so it only shows up on the music-to-GRE-scores chart.
Â
I keep waiting for Malkmus to show up as a MMMMUUUUSICAL GUEST on CBB. Seems like a good fit.

I hate to keep repeating myself, and others, but I really thought we'd get some Heidecker on for the release of Bedtime Stories. He even went on Big Moody Maron's What the Heck podcast with Eric!

Â
non-improv comedians (weird al) on cbb are usually hit or miss.
Â
For me, it's more to do with his persona than his background. I could listen to non-improvisors like Adam Scott, Weird Al or Chelsea Peretti talk to Oxerman all day, but Jack's vibe is just a little cloying for me after about half an hour.
Â
I don't want to overstate it, though, because I bet he's still a great guy and the episode was a winner overall.

Jack Black is great in some of my favourite stuff - Tom Goes to the Mayor, Mr. Show, Beck's Sexx Laws video - but I can really only stomach him and his gastro-superlatives in small doses.
Â
I was really, really glad when Lapkus and Wengert arrived. They were 'delicious'.

I haven't listened to the podcast in question, but if they're anything like the typical PUA jerks every self-respecting adult loathes, it's definitely a little odd promoting them here. I've seen Scott Aukerman commenting on the forums about the mistreatment of female comics, and I can't help but feel that any philosophy which necessarily perpetuates the notion that women are manipulable objects to be tricked into sex is at least somewhat contrary to the Earwolf vibe.

I just found out about this guy who has hundreds of videos in which he just eats carrots silently while listening to podcasts. Might be a big creep, but you can't fault his taste in comedy.

When I saw this, I said 'holy shit' twice, and I meant it.
Â
'Clones & Oliver Stones' is one of my most-listened-to episodes of all time.

I think this might be my favourite podcast episode of all time.

What's Harris's opinion on Neil Finn? Alternatively, what does Harris think about Batdance?

I could really go for a Tim Heidecker appearance.

I listened to the commentary track on the season one finale recently and Scott mentioned that IFX advised him to set a template and save the "high concept shows" for later seasons.
Â
The evolution of the show has really occurred noticeably with each new episode since that season 1 finale. It's crazy to see how far the show has come concept-wise since season 1. A total joy to behold!
Â
That's really interesting. I haven't heard the commentary, but that totally makes sense. It really is great to see it come into its own - especially since we know there's another (bumper) season coming.

Got an update on my previous post: the Lizzy Caplan episode is even better.
Â
I really enjoyed the first two seasons, found them incredibly entertaining, but this year has really brought the funnies to a whole new level. That jingle effect when Scott shakes his hands during the Cheez-It commercial had me in stitches. And speaking of Stiches (call back... Payday), that distinct style of sound effect has generally been used really well this year. It's subtler than Tim & Eric Awesome Show, but still stinks of Abso-Lutely, in the best way possible.
Â
And the whole 'best of' format was just so great. They're really killing it with the episode themes this season. GREAT JOB!
Â
Holy shit! I wrote that comment before I'd even finished watching. That 'dumb-bell' joke almost merited a bonus comment on its lonesome, but then - cue unbridled joy - Scott dropped a reference to my favourite person in the galaxy, ever: Beck!
Â
For me, this episode just shot into the television stratosphere. It's up there orbitting with the finale of MASH and that episode of The News with the waterskiing squirrel.

Oh, and here's a terrifying advert for frozen steak from 1970s Britain.

We will miss you Harris

This is so unbelievably sad. I was absent mindedly browsing Twitter and - amongst the re-tweets - thought I'd seen at least one original from Harris, so I assumed all of the articles and messages were some sort of dark, elaborate joke. Hit me like a tonne of bricks when I realised it was real. Godammit, I've never been hit so hard by the death of someone I'd never met.
Â
Harris, you were an amazing talent and a wonderful guy. Enjoy your journey through the cosmos.
