  1. so during chart roulette, right after mather answers the first question (at 59:45 to be exact) there's this 80s song playing in the background. this song has been following me around for the past month, but always at a distance. i've heard it at the grocery store, at an optometrist's office, you get the idea--but i could never hear the words clearly enough to google it. someone please tell me what this song is.

Funny you heard it at the optometrist. It's Billy Idol's "

    ".

  2. I was completely unaware that Jackass played music of any kind, other than that infamous theme music.

It depends on how you watched the show. The original (broadcast) episodes were rife with great music, but the DVDs reportedly had many segments altered or dropped altogether due to music licensing issues.

  3. Would you rather they had all kept their opinions to themselves and essentially render you, the internet message board moderator, useless?

My sole mandate as moderator is to delete spam when Shannon and Julia aren't around, so it wouldn't have made any difference to me. Constructive criticism is welcome in any discussion.

Gotta say, I feel compelled to question the motives of a "huge Jackass/cKy fan from day one" :P

At a time when MTV had abandoned any pretense of playing music, Jackass was introducing kids (myself included) to The Minutemen, The Misfits, The Ramones, X-Ray Spex, et al. And was funny to boot.

  4. What did you think about the episode?

I thought it was a marked departure from the usual Whooch format, with more Real Talkβ„’ and less LA comedy inside baseball, but Howard and Ku seemed to enjoy the ride.

    Β

I get how Steve-O can be grating to some β€” I was a huge Jackass/cKy fan from day one, and he was never my favorite member β€” but he seems like a nice guy and the howls of disapproval in the other thread were overboard. Especially since the handful of people complaining loudest had a total of ~15 forum posts between them. I feel compelled to question the motives of anyone who registers an account just to shit on something.

  5. I wonder how everyone decrying this week's Whooch as the Worst Episode Ever will handle the news that Kulap and Howard enjoyed it so much they created a B-B-B-BONUS-S-S-S Chart on the fly, listing the parallels between Howard and Steve-O.

Compare this with the Tooch following Chris Gore's appearance, where they said literally nothing about him beyond the fact that he appeared on the show.

  6. Watching a Frasier re-run (yeah, I know how to party), and there's Matt Besser himself as a barista! Any stories about working with noted weirdo Kelsey Grammer?

Is anyone else watching the latest season of Justified? The first few episodes include a preacher that sounds just like a Comedy Central-era Besser character. It's uncanny.

    Β

Edit: I've just learned that said character is played by the kid from Jurassic Park. Christ, I feel old…

  7. Loved this episode! Amy Phillips knocks it out of the park every time she appears on the show.

Classic CBB blunder: letting the only genius singer/songwriter of our generation sing one song.

If Jeff Mangum heard you say that, he would rightly smash a guitar over your head, and retire to his cave somewhere in the Adirondacks to brood for another 15 years.

  8. Really? I get the impression from Dan's post that he was just simply asking if we're going to get the post watched jaws episode, to which PFT responded sarcastically.

Whereas I didn't get the impression that Mr. Tompkins was being particularly

    in his response.

  9. And this...http://www.usatoday.com/story/popcandy/2013/01/16/earwolf-podcasts-video/1839169/

Something I haven't seen clarified anywhere: Are the videos going to delivered as the regular weekly audio-only podcasts, or are they a separate entity altogether?

Imagine if poor Andy Daly had to leap out of the first floor Earwolf window 7-10 times in a row for the sake of the viewing audience...
