When I leave this Taco Bell, I take my emotions with me
onReload posted a topic in New Catchphrase Suggestions
[cough] -
this is a comedy show

One thing I love about Todd and James being on the same show is how Todd likes to be super delicate and hesitant about "the situation," while James can be totally explicit and aggressive about it. Also, I could listen to these guys talk about damn near anything for two hours.

Guests You'd Like to See on the Fogelnest Files
onReload replied to DubipR's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
The guys from 5secondfilms.com. Briefly mentioned on the recent episode, but yeah, they're smart, funny people who do a lot of internet shit and have worked with cool people. -
Episode UCB3 — Bonus: Ask The UCB 3
onReload replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I really respect Besser for speaking honestly about short form. No bullshit diplomacy, just his gut feelings. -

I love Eddie's point on blaring music every time there's a tiny delay in baseball. I hadn't been to a ballgame for years until last month, and was surprised how much it's tailored for the shortest attention span

Episode 217 — Professional Gaming Slur
onReload replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Yo, Is This Racist?
Yeah it's still predominantly Asian (from a worldwide view) and a lot of white people, but there are a ton more black and hispanic players than shooters/strategy games. -
Episode 217 — Professional Gaming Slur
onReload replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Yo, Is This Racist?
Pro gaming usually means videogames. Anyway, I agree with the zero-tolerance thing. I follow the (admittedly very nerdy) pro gaming scene, and while certain games have a more diverse player base, StarCraft and other PC games are really devoid of black people...Shit like that just makes the whole scene look racist and uninviting, as it's already very white (and Asian) and evidently somewhat-tolerant of racial epithets. The fighting-game community (Street Fighter and shit) has way more PoCs, but they have their own issues, like sexism and shit. But this isn't the YITS podcast. -
Proud New Jerseyan here. Haven't listened yet but I already approve.

lol @ people caring about someone's Beatles preference. also, wait a minute...Andrew, you know Herman Li? Were you in DragonForce or something?

I dunno, guys, I'm fine with the promo stuff. I like Scott, and they use guests that are suitable for the CBB audience...so it's still fun. Sometimes, I like the conversations in CBB over the characters

Eh, it basically seems like the hosts and the caller had the majority/minority of racist Black Metal bands flipped. As someone already pointed out, it's really known for anti-christian sentiments...Of course, metal/rock genres are always going to have more racist acts than say...Funk, or polka, I guess. Anyway, I guess I could understand what he was saying if he said, "If you don't want to see anti-christian, don't listen to Black Metal," which would still be narrow-minded, but understandable. So, I like the black metal band Legion a good amount. Even though they aren't anti-christian, I wouldn't bring up "loving black metal," to a group of Christians... Does any of this make sense?

I get that people felt they "missed the point," but it seemed obvious to me that the idea was: "Yeah, we know it's not supposed to be clever, but here's what's really terrible about it." And that's what this podcast does - take shit apart and nitpick. The movie was suggested a lot, so of course they're gonna sit down and over analyze it, that's the whole point.

y'all are some buzzkills "stupid butts" is all i really needed from a podcast today

Yup. I like his Monster Madness reviews, which he does in October as a countdown to Halloween. He's a pretty subdued guy in person, kind of shy, but I'm sure he'd warm up to other movie/comedy fans

Man, that would be great, a good fit...I doubt it would happen, though, since James is on the East Coast

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009)
onReload replied to jamsmad's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
This, or even the original Street Fighter movie - which is pretty terrible but still kinda fun...this, from what I hear, is only fun *because* it's so terrible. While you could go down a huge rabbit hole watching "videogame movies," this one had a big release, big names, and actually looks like fun to watch. -
Episode UCB1 — BONUS EPISODE – Ask the UCB? – The UCB Philosophy
onReload replied to admin's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I just started getting into the UCB. I'm in Improv 101 in NYC, and our graduation show is coming up - I'm really nervous, but it's always empowering to think of all the people that came through the UCB, and to know that the theaters' objective is to foster new talent. I'll probably switch over to writing/sketch, as I think that suits me a bit more, but after listening to/watching/respecting so many improv-vets, I just had to try it. Mr. jw_seattle (and anyone else this applies to), I doubt it's ever too late to take a class. As someone who deals with bad anxiety every day, I can assure you the school's teaching style make it as easy as possible. Great listen! -
I dunno, dude, I don't think you're supposed to spill water on it.
