EPISODE 342 β A Silicon Valley P-Cast
misterAndyReid replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Between this and his recent appearance on With Special Guest, Thomas Middleditch has been killing me lately. More Characs, Thomas! More Characs! -
EPISODE 336 β NOT Farts and Procreation 4
misterAndyReid replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I run the booth at an improv theater in Detroit. I played nothing but Don't Stop Or We'll Die songs tonight, because it just felt right. -
EPISODE 336 β NOT Farts and Procreation 4

Is there a word for being heartbroken and excited at the same time? Cause that's what this episode makes me feel. -
Episode BO2014.4 β Best of 2014 Pt 4
misterAndyReid replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
It was a little sad to hear Scotty Aux even entertain the possibility of ending the podcast, during the wrapup convo. Never, Scotty, never! -
I can't believe the most upsetting moment of any HDTGM movie was not discussed during this podcast: the nightmare sequence when a baby with Arnold's face is screaming. Haha

Episode 323 β Pie Quiz with Tears for Fears
misterAndyReid replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Tears For Fears are making a strong case for best musical guests ever. They're so funny and game for the silliness. I'm really enjoying this ep! -
There is a Jellystone Park in Michigan! Yogi Bear visits your campsite. Wheni was a kid, it was amazing Silverlakejellystone.com

Episode 87 β Easy Rider 2: The Ride Back
misterAndyReid replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I love Easy Rider. I was not aware of this movie, until I saw it pop up here, but I have to say, after watching it, this is the most egregious example of an unwarranted or unnecessary sequel, ever. The idea of delving into Captain America's family history undermines everything about the first movie. He was a man with no past and no future, certainly no family -- a blank canvas, eventually covered with the brush strokes of America at the end of the 1960s, through encountering the disparate cultures and counter-cultures that were fighting for their own views, the result of which is one of the most important dissections of American society of that decade. It's really disappointing that this movie was even made, to begin with. -
It was after the cutoff for Best Ofs last year. I'm really hoping people remember it, when the 2014 voting comes around, because it was so amazing.

Yay! I just re-listened to the Tiny/Victor episode (which HAS to be in the Best Of eps). Brendan Small needs to be a charac guest as much as possible

Just bought tickets to the show at skirball center may 11
misterAndyReid replied to DavidBrianDanielBasile's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I went to the show in Detroit this last tour, and you're in for a treat, Daveyman. When I saw CBB Live, the Birthday Boys opened with a show, then Kurt Braunholer came out and did some standup, then Hot Saucerman did some warmup, and the shot started. The live shows are more character-focused than even a regular podcast is, and I feel like all the performers get that extra jolt from getting up in front of an actual crowd. After my experience at a live CBB, I'm going to make sure I'm at any live show they do in my area -- it's an amazing night. You're going to have a blast! -
Episode 195.5 β Sklarbro County 100
misterAndyReid replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
I did it. I got a story on County! This is a big day for me, but really, I'm just glad we're raising awareness about the miscreant known as The Mystery Pooper. -
I think Scott needs to set up the first ever CBB Bro-Off between XJR& and Ducky. Winner controls the slopes and all the fresh powder he can dream of, just like a 1980s Ski Movie.

This is not the CBB epic we deserve, but it's the one we need right now.

I tried to email you, but it wouldn't go through. So I'm just going to post this here and hope you see it: Two years ago, I came across your podcast on the Earwolf network. I had never been exposed to improv comedy, other than Who's Line Is It Anyway, but I gave it a try, and I was hooked from the first episode I listened to. This year, I finally took the plunge and did something I have wanted to since I started listening to your show: I signed up for an Improv class at a theater called Planet Ant in Detroit. I bought your book - The UCB Comedy Improv Manual - and went to class with an open mind. I don't have any theater or performance background, but I've always been a storyteller. I'm a sportswriter by trade, but recently, I've grown weary of that as a creative outlet. Thanks to you, I found improv, and it has been the been thing that has happened to me in a long time. I love it, and I love having an outlet to pretend and play and create. My intro class is about to end, but I am definitely going to continue with the program. I have met some great people, and I have had an incredible time. So, thank you. If you have any tips for an upstart imrpover - especially about starting a team after my classes end - I would be so grateful to hear them. -- My email address is andy.a.reid@gmail.com. I'd be happy to talk about Improv with anyone else on the message board that wants to get into it.

Episode 271 β Tiny Little Boy Parts
misterAndyReid replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
This has to be the greatest day in earwolf history. A Nick Thune ep. of CBB (I'm seeing him in Grand Rapids next month, really excited!), an awesome i4h and the return of Chop Gardner with his very own podcast pilot. Oh... and Never Not Funny, no big deal. This podcast network is, if I may steal a phrase from HDTGM, bonkers. -
I just watched it, after listening to the podcast. Here's what's perplexing: a girl riding a horse through the streets of Miami would get MUCH weirder looks than she and her sister got from the townspeople haha
-
Ditto! The Calvins Twins are ready to burst into the mainstream.

The "Hey Kiddo!" episode was one of my favorites from last year, and this somehow tops it. I'll take as many characs from Taran and Paul as I can get.
