I can't wait to hear the second opinions for this movie. After reading some of the reviews on IMDB, which are pretty insane, the ones on Amazon should be next level. This movie honestly is like if a french art film director was tasked with creating a comedy in America starring Robin Williams, and Robin had free reign over what his character could say/do. The visuals are pretty great, but the movie is nuts. And question, since we see that there are regular people in the world who go to the store, as evidence by Robin Williams' test commercial in the beginning, and apparently fight in wars, does that mean the entire world we see in the movie is one giant factory designed by a toy version of Willie Wonka? I mean there's basically only one road in the world that we see and even the surrounding environment is designed to look like a sound stage, which works with how everything else in the setting is intentional.

The only reason to care I guess would be to know that the serial killer gamed the system and that it is the only personality left. Though if that was the case she didn't need to have a farm in Florida to go to since she wasn't real. It would have made more sense for it to remain at the hotel and once Cusack was dead it stops raining gets sunny and gives the fake symbolism that everything is done and alright. Then once they are in the van we see the full ending when the kid comes up behind her and kills her.

HOLY FUCK THEY ARE FINALLY DOING TOYS! Even watching it now over 20 years later this movie is still like an acid trip. Can't wait to see who the guest was who suggested this.

I gotta bump this because I'm amazed this movie hasn't been done on the show yet, or the fact that only two Arnold movies have been done on the show

Spiderman 3 he wasn't such the villain as he was the dick former friend unlike in Spiderman 2 where he was a definite bad guy. Plus it is still rare to see him play a bad guy in films, and one that isn't cartoony (Spring Breakers) or one where it seems at times he's phoning it in (Spiderman sequels).

Really? Do we not remember that Cobra was based on a novel? This looks fantastic as far as action movies go, and with Statham doing his usual and Franco doing the odd turn as the villain, I'll definitely check this one out.

Yeah exactly. My family has a Sankyo machine at our house and they come in all sorts of varieties. You are basically given so many of the little balls which you are meant to launch into the machine. You can win more balls by them landing in special spots on the board. There's no real skill to winning the game since the balls can bounce anywhere in the board off the pegs but it is quite addictive once you start playing. I don't know how they gauge winnings in Japan, but it may have something to do with how many balls you win back. The picture below is sort of what mine looks like, though my centerpiece is a slot machine which is activated by hitting a certain spot.

Yeah it was pretty offensive how the character of Dahl was portrayed. From her name being just a way to call her "Doll" to how she basically is told by Riddick he's going to go "balls deep in her," it was shocking how blatant it all was. This was like how Riddick smell banged Thandie Newton in the last movie by saying he hasn't smelled beautiful in a while. As I wrote originally, this movies is just misogynistic and sets back women as a strong action character. Pitch Black is an excellent horror/action film. There is great character development and tension throughout the movie. The mechanic of remaining in the light to survive is well done because it is so simple. It was when Vin Diesel got the idea to make this huge world for his character that the movies started to slack content wise. Incidentally, the video games for the Riddick character are amazing not just for being a video game adaptation of a movie character, but as a video game in general. So if you are looking for a good experience concerning this character watch Pitch Black or get the games. They released them both together a couple years back on a single disc, and it's well worth the money.

I thought the same thing about World's End, but I have a feeling that I will love it more the more times I watch it like I had with Shaun of the Dead. As far as Ant-Man is concerned, I feel it's like Iron Man; a character that's slightly known by general audiences but wasn't huge even with many hardcore comic fans. Hell, both Thor and Iron man were really B- comic characters at their peak and outside of a few key storylines, were more known for being a part of the Avengers. Now of course since the comics have been huge you have every hipster saying they've always been fans of the characters and knocking the same movies that initially introduced them to the character. I'm really excited to see what Gunn does with Guardians since he has a very unique style when it comes to his movies. I wouldn't be surprised to see a cameo of Nathan Fillion or a cameo for himself. I'm also expecting this to be a darker film than the other Marvel films as he likes to play with preconceived notions of genres and favors more stark themes with comedy thrown in.

The same psycho bitches who come up with the notion that burning a man alive inside a wicker man can give them a better harvest.

Will they also have famous cage faces on the different bottles? It's a cage for every season!

Which is basically what the whole third act is. Except these aliens are just aliens, they aren't hurt by light but they need water/mud in order to attack the main characters. Everything with Dahl was good up until the point where she decides not to be a lesbian any more just so she can get some Diesel dick. I'm not usually one to cry sexism in a movie but holy shit was this sexist. From the Necromonger whores who have about a 10 second full frontal vag shot, to the nameless female prisoner of the uber-bad mercenaries who was heavily implied to be a rape sow for the crew to Dahl who as I previously wrote had the always changing tit size. Now Shannon since you saw it as well, can you back up what I said about Dahl to prove to me that I'm not crazy? Because even when Katee Sackhoff is shown topless for a quick scene, she is much smaller than a scene later where she looks like Jenna Jameson at her bustiest as she fights off the main mercenary who tries to rape her as well. That was actually the most laughable scene afterwards as we find out she punches him again causing his nose to bleed, but the characters who walk into the room see a scene out of the Manson murders where blood is EVERYWHERE, and not just a little but puddles on the floor with drag stains and hand prints everywhere. Yet when they show the guy he just has a little trickle of blood coming from his nose.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995)

It's weird reading the wiki's for the actors and seeing that Skull has a PhD. and is a college professor in literature now. And I would love a Go Bayside-esque podcast on that show, at least for the first few series. -

Yeah I saw that announced on IMDB, but the picture they had was of the guy as one of the dozens of kids in the background in one episode. The same thing happened this year when a woman sent letters with Ricin in them to various organizations and individuals. Every news story credited her as a former actress on The Walking Dead and Vamprie Diaries when in fact she was an extra in both, she didn't even get a credit for her miniscule parts on IMDB. Ever since Shelley Malil from the 40 Year Old Virgin murdered his girlfriend, these stories look for any connection to a show or movie to attach to the headline to make it more attractive. And at least he had a decent speaking part in the movie. -
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995)

I was in kindergarten when the first season premiered (god that makes me feel old) and I remember how much teachers at school hated the show because all of us would play fight during recess, of course all the boys were the red ranger. The thing that always made me chuckle, even as a kid, was that no one could put two and two together and see the five friends who wore the same corresponding colors of clothes were never around when the Rangers were fighting. That and the fact that EVERY episode left millions of dollars in damage and thousands dead after the giant zord/monster fights. It's such a number that it puts Avengers and Man of Steel to shame. This movie wasn't so bad for a first shot at a film adaptation, if anything it's the second movie that needs to be discussed. First. the Blue Ranger losing his job because he landed wrong on his back practicing for a martial arts tournament. This is a guy who has been sliced up, shot, and blown up by fucking aliens but now he can't be a power ranger because he has a herniated disc. Then the most laughable thing is that his replacement is a kid half his size, which is explained in a quick cut where he grows two feet as the costume is put on. -
Yeah where he burned the drug kingpin in gasoline which led to the great shot of Nic Cage running through the exploding diner, ending with him leaping through a window. The humor here being that the explosion was shown before Cage was shown going through a non flame engulfed window/door.
-
Not just a serial killer, but apparently a guy who puts Charles Manson, Ed Gein, and Jack the Ripper, to shame. The fact that everyone in this movie are so blase about him, including Federal Agents who are more worried about Malkovitch is incredibly shocking. I mean even Cage didn't ask Cusack "hey you got Garland Greene in custody again right?"

This really needs to be done together with Face/Off, especially since they came out three weeks apart from each other which is crazy enough for an A-list actor to do at his peak. I unironically love this movie for how crazy it is and the total amount of scene chewing done by LITERALLY every main cast member. And having just rewatched it a couple weeks ago I began to notice things that I missed when I first saw it when I was 9 like in the initial fight that gets cage arrested for manslaughter, the knife he was attacked with removed from the scene by the drunk guys friends making it seem like it wasn't self defense, or the idea that somehow Cage's wife could be 3 months pregnant but have zero bump in her stomach. Plus it's the biggest raw deal I've ever seen on film where Cage is talked into pleading guilty for a short sentence (4 years I think), but the judge screws him over by saying since he's a soldier he should know better so he sentences him for the maximum that he plead guilty to avoid in the first place. Then when a DEA agent is given a gun to sneak onto a plane full of some of the worst criminals in the United States, when he gets killed his friend who gave him the gun in the first place is given almost total jurisdiction in a non DEA incident while John Cusack is pushed out because "he's too close to it" since it's his plane. Also, was Steve Buscemi a pedophile as well as a maniac? I know he talked about butchering people and wearing a girl's head as a hat, but it just seemed out of place that he finds the one lone child in a near deserted plane graveyard/trailer park and we as the audience are forced to look at the kid through his batshit crazy prism.

Well considering it's the same 10-15 of us that cover this forum with posts, it's not surprising. Do we not remember this summer where every week another fight happened when a new poster suggested the big movie of the week?
-
No way this gets done, with a 92% on rotten tomatoes, this one won't get touched. And it's insanity is a parody of the numerous tropes within the horror genre, so it makes sense for it to be crazy.

I think that may change now since Avengers did gangbusters and Whedon has become the talk of the town. Before Whedon was a director/writer who was more of a fanboy director with all of the things he did, but now that he has this huge hit and with Cabin in the Woods doing pretty well and getting good reviews from critics, people are looking at him a lot more now. I mean whenever some pop culture controversy comes up now or something important he's one of the first to be asked his opinion on it. I have a feeling the same will happen if Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy do well, especially Guardians as it seems it is going to be a late summer blockbuster for Marvel. If these two succeed, expect the Whedon effect to happen to Edgar Wright and James Gunn.
-
It's sort of already happened though with Ant-Man as the rumors have run rampant that Pegg will be cast as him due to Wright's involvement. I just want Pegg to wait though so he can be involved in The Boys movie if it ever gets made since the character of Wee Hughie was created in his image.

I did a double feature of this and You're Next and I was a bit surprised at myself for not getting into this one as much as I thought I would. Granted I felt the same way about Shaun of the Dead the first time I saw it, but now I love it. The one thing I expected more of was more references/parodies of sci-fi movies like Shaun and Hot Fuzz had done for zombie and action movies, respectively. I'm sure I'll love this after another viewing or two. And if you haven't already, check out You're Next, a fantastic horror/home invasion movie that does wonders with creating lifelike family drama and suspense.

Wait is Voight actually doing the accent? I thought when I looked through the imdb of this shitshow that they had another actor doing the voice while Voight was just being the on screen body, unless he had them change it at the last moment.

Willis was definitely trying hard and performing in Live Free or Die Hard, the most recent one is hard to say as they for some reason felt the need to shoehorn his son into the movie in a similar fashion like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. There are points in it that seem like its the Willis of old, mainly the action scenes, but outside he just didn't seem interested. And with the recent news story that he was kicked off Expendables 3 because he wanted a million dollars a day, all signs point to him just doing roles to buy more of whatever his new hobby is, which at this point I'm assuming his hunting prostitutes with a crossbow while the Bruno CD plays in the background.
