    Episode 61.5 β€” Minisode 61.5

Not only that, but they Christian up an Usher song, and I swear that was when the movie was trying to sexualize going to church. And in case you were wondering, yes, Dolly Parton has a shotgun within the first 30 minutes of this movie, pointing it Estelle Getty-style at her grandson.

    Episode 61.5 β€” Minisode 61.5

This may be the first movie where I've genuinely gone from "Huh, why would the choose that movie over many others" to "How have I NOT heard about everything in this movie before?!?" They will just be on fire for this episode.

    Episode 61.5 β€” Minisode 61.5

I just now realized that the quality of songs in this movie are the equivalent to old denture paste commercials. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiD7FZ3KsEk

    Episode 61.5 β€” Minisode 61.5

That was the only way I could convince myself that the singers, the band members, AND the light directors for the show knew what to do for the final musical number that they most certainly DID NOT REHEARSE.

    Episode 61.5 β€” Minisode 61.5

Holy Shit, I did not expect this movie to be that certifiably crazy. I just really need to say that this movie's treatment of death is so blazΓ© that I had to stop the movie at the 2nd death to get my thoughts together on what was happening. But really, this movie is why I love the podcast. This movie has no Razzie nods and isn't famously bad, but feels like a gem to me in how horrible it is. I mean, this movie has a child's choir as an antagonist at one point and an Asian who is a redneck. Why do those happen. I am excited for this episode!

    Crash (Paul Haggis)

Okay, let me be the first one to say it *deep breath* I thought that Crash was a wonderful movie. It did keep me engrossed in the plot and I did find some of the emotional plots very pleasing and not that predictable (Totally did not expect Thandie Newton to be in that car wreck) And in my most shameful admission, I did cry when the Middle Eastern guy confronted the Latino guy and his daughter with the gun. I'm ashamed of it, but I loved this movie. With that being said, it is not the greatest movie ever (I could talk forever on the insanity in Sandra Bullock's performance), and I do believe that the Academy Awards did this movie no favors by nominating this movie at all. I genuinely think that the only reason people hate this movie is either because it beat Brokeback Mountain or that it was nominated at all. Crash's legacy should've been a Golden Globe Nominee at best, not the full Best Picture win.

    Episode 61.5 β€” Minisode 61.5

Did anyone else find it deeply unsettling when Paul enthusiastically said "Take it away, Future Paul!" and it goes to a drunk and raspy voiced man who mixes up JBDubs and Stallone? Also, for Joyful Noise, calling it now:

    The Avengers (1998)

Guys, Granny with a Gun? The Invisible Man? The fact that the character of Father tells Mother "It really isn't Mother's Day"?!? Eddie Izzard!?! DO THIS NOW (I'll admit that I'm bumping it because it's currently low on the FYI poll, but it's 87 minutes of literal garbage, ironic considering the Warner Bro. Logo begins celebrating "75 Years of Entertaining") http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1M_NrJFf5g0
  9. This feels like it will be the first movie where we genuinely forced them to watch. I have a strong hunch that Paul isn't telling us why this hasn't been done yet.

    Pearl Harbor

I've actually been interested in seeing this film and do a side by side on this and Titanic, but I come across two problems 1) I never have 3 hours free in my week 2) If I did ever have 3 hours free in my week, would I really want to watch this? So, yeah, natural choice, but might be hard to get everyone on the same page. NOW THERE IS Enemy at the Gates, which uses Pearl Harbor's love triangle set in one of the bloodiest battles in WWII with a running time of 2 hours (along with the casting of Bob Hoskins and Ron Pearlman), but the War scenes were actually good, so do with that what you will.

    Jack and Jill (2011)

Raffi has got to give June her time of day. It doesn't help that he's aided by Bob Ducca and Donna to continue his ways. But now onto this film, I absolutely refuse to believe that June Diane Raphael found this film entertaining in any way. I thought it was overrated in it's badness for beating Battlefield Earth and I Know Who Killed Me's record for Razzie wins, but now I completely understand. This film is not funny, nor is it crazy, nor is it infuriating. It is the literal definition of nothing. There were, like 3 moments where I had a small chuckle, but I couldn't tell you what scenes those were because they were so forgettable, and I refused to rewind this movie to find out. It truly was the first time I wanted to stop watching a film because I knew nothing would come of it, and I would probably gain more watching The Happening again IF I WERE to say one thing I remember about this movie, it was that it gave me an excuse to hate Katie Holmes. Her character was a shrill, unlikable, unreasonable person who is much more of a crazy emotionless monster than Jill ever could be.

Absolutely 100%. Either Woody Allen Jazz or Disney Parent Trap Whimsy.

Episode 61 β€” Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot

If someone could cut the Trailer for 'I Know Who Killed Me' as a Woody Allen movie THAT INCLUDES the 'This is Mr. Garvis' scene, this forum will win the internet.

    R.I.P.D. (2013)

The thing about Gatsby is that I think it's focus seems to be more on atmosphere, which is why a lot of my friends want to go see it. I feel like it's a vintage (read: Hipster) movie if anything. But seeing as it was supposed to be released last year at Christmans (Which dashed my hopes for a Gatsby-Les Mis faceoff) and is a classic American Period piece told in 3-D, I would believe it if you put it in the category of a movie like Rob Marshall's Nine (Big Ensemble that misses both breaking even and the Academy Awards) After Earth is confounding me with the idea that we are still allowing Jaden Smith to make movies. Say what you will about the Karate Kid remake, but this may be a career-ender (Because realize, with the exception of the Sixth Sense, M. Night does not have a good track record with children) The Lone Ranger makes me furious just because when I heard about it, I thought "Oh, Johnny Depp will be the Lone Ranger" Why would he even TAKE the role of Tonto? This is Johnny Depp playing a Native American Spirit Warrior in a Disney Film. Did they even say that out loud.

    Birdemic 2

The fact that we can't get tippy toes news broadcasting shows how much they've gone from the original. But I am genuinely shocked that I still get a laugh every time from Rod's performance.

    A Talking Cat!?! (2013)

When the two boys ran inside laughing and toweling each other off, I just had to think "Oh, they just bone zoned." I find it impossible to believe that anyone who saw them running into the room would think otherwise. I really hope they do this soon, what with A Talking Pony!?! now in post-production (Yes folks, that is real. And unlike Birdemic 2, it doesn't look self aware yet). If the Director does "A Talking _____!?!" saga, these guys need to go in order. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwmXPE62wwo

Episode 61 β€” Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot

I can't get over the fact that the best part of the podcast for me involved a Jack-O-Lantern and a Stallone Ass in the Air shot I never noticed. Those laughs were fucking amazing. I will say, Thank God for Kate Spencer bringing up the Gun Control Debate, because when I was watching Estelle Getty point a gun in her face, at her son, and buying one off a truck, all I thought was "This could not get made today playing those off as jokes." It's relevant in the most horrific way. But on to the serious matter. June DOES KNOW that Jack and Jill won Worst Picture at the Razzies, correct? I want to hear her defend not only that movie, but other Sandler movies. By which I mean That's My Boy, which they could talk about forever on this show. Also, if anyone wants to see JBDubs at her finest, go see Poltergeist II: The Other Side. That shit is Bonkers. Show was great. I still contend that Estelle Getty makes the movie work (You just made an enemy of the Golden Girls fanbase, June), Mockup Trailer was awesome, and literally the only episode I would consider "Not the Best" would be Spice World, but out of personal preference if anything. These Guys are funny 24/7

    A Talking Cat!?! (2013)

I really don't want to speculate, but the actor who played the son, Justin Cone, played a gay character on "The Hard Times of RJ Burger". He may really be straight, I don't know, it's just when you play a gay character and then your attempt at straight comes off as gay, I just don't even know what the fuck is going on. With that being said, did anyone else feel that when the son from the other family went into the swimming pool, there was going to be a loving stare by the first son? Because that would have made sense in the context of this movie. I guarantee you that "I can't swim" is just a cop out from the director. As for Eric Roberts, holy shit. I can't tell if he is phoning it in or having too much fun with this, or whatever the hell is going on there. This interview is the closest we get to an explanation. http://www.avclub.com/articles/eric-roberts-dark-knight-shelley-winters-john-wate,92668/2/ And when the mom says "Yes, Tina, and No, you can't go to business college.", I fucking lost my mind. How has this not been done? This shit is amazing, Jason will freak.

    Episode 60.5 β€” Minisode 60.5

That's what's weird to me about the pure comedy rule. Because there are amazing comedy episodes (On The Line, Pluto Nash, All About Steve,The Back-Up Plan) I'd love for them to do comedies like Town & Country or Leonard Part 6, but they can't get traction on the forums because no one wants to do a crazy movie that fails at comedy. I think they can do amazing episodes on comedies, even with a simple premise like Back-Up Plan. It just needs craziness, and a great guest host. But I do understand thinking that the movie is boring bad, it's just that it can sometimes make for an amazing episode, aka, our reward for sitting through it.

    Episode 60.5 β€” Minisode 60.5

I actually enjoyed this way more than I thought I did. Maybe it's because I love Golden Girls, maybe it's because in my opinion, Stallone's performance is way better than the Dolly Parton-Trainwreck Rhinestone, but I was genuinely laughing at this movie. My biggest problem with this is the JoBeth Williams subplot (Why ever would he deny that he sent the roses if he's trying to win her back. It makes NO sense) For me, this is a way better movie than North, but I can see a good episode in here (And North came out 2 years after this, so Ebert didn't know what really would hit him as the Worst Movie Ever) But hands down, the best scene is Estelle Getty's "Nobody Hurts My Baby" shooting scene. If you listen to the score, it almost makes it sound like a horror movie and she is reveling in the fact that she shot a man in the chest. Amazing.

    Snakes on a Plane

That's what I always wondered about this movie. Was it marketed as an over the top unintentional comedy or an action movie, and did it succeed at either? I remember passing by a TV and seeing a snake crawl up a Hawaiian man's leg on a plane, and I just assumed it was this movie. The only reason I would consider watching this is because Jullianna Margulies is in it, and I adore her. Why on earth is she in this? But that's a personal preference, not enough for a review.

    Episode 60.5 β€” Minisode 60.5

I'm actually very tempted to jump on the "North was really the worst film Roger Ebert memorably saw", but considering that I got a mention in the podcast AND am a huge fan of the Golden Girls, I'll be excited... Ah, screw it, it should've been North!

    Showgirls (1995)

I wanna know why there is so much casual cocaine snorting in this film. And to reiterate, get Gina Gershon on this show!
