In my mind, this movie is a test version of Glitter. The 70's period piece idea could have been great, they just ruin everything. Ryan Phillipe is garbage (And with a Crazy head of hair), his relationship with Salma Hayek and Breckin Meyer is insane, Neve Campbell is third billed and doesn't have a line until the last 30 MINUTES. And of course, my two favorites, Ellen Albertini Dow as Disco Dottie, the 80 year old foul-mouthed drug-using disco queen, and Mike Meyers in his first dramatic role as Steve Rubell, owner of Studio 54 who roles in beds of cash and asks to blow employees The history of this movie is also interesting, as it was originally 2 hours and aimed to be a Summer Hit, but Miramax forced cuts (Which Included a more Central Role for Neve Campbell and Breckin Meyer, and more explicitly saying that Ryan Phillipe's character was Bisexual) after it tested poorly, only to have it bomb. I'd really love to see this on the show.

    The Scarlet Letter (1995)

I'm sorry, let me rephrase that. THIS rape is why this movie is insane. Starts at 7 minutes in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOm5BP0cT7k Feel free to watch the entire scene, it's all still crazy As someone who honestly did not care for the Original Hawthorne Novel, I can say that this movie, even if you have not read the book, is just wrong. Crazy and Wrong. I genuinely will not rest until this movie is discussed.

    Episode 64 — After Earth

YES. When they were describing the introduction to this movie, I was like "Did these fucking people rip off Wall-E?!?" June, you are wonderful, I can't wait for you to explain how Howard the Duck interdimensional transporters work. And Shout Out to the call back for "What is a Street Fighter?" and for the guys realizing June was about to say something amazing.

    Practical Magic (1998)

And don't forget "The Lake House", which is also part of the long line of movies that just go to show that we all really shouldn't have been surprised when Sandra Bullock took on All About Steve.

    Practical Magic (1998)

That's also funny, because I kept confusing this with "Love Potion No. 9", the other Sandra Bullock RomCom with Supernatural Elements.

    Practical Magic (1998)

THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING! I just saw it, and it blew my mind. Sure, everyone's acting is good, but I have serious problems with calling this a Romantic Comedy, because the love interest is totally unlikable and they are romantically connected in about 2 minutes. But Jesus, Nicole Kidman's Boyfriend? The Midnight Margarita Party? The Movie's problems being solved by a Phone Tree?!? The fact that I still don't know what constitutes "Practical Magic"? This needs to be considered.

    Demolition Man

I saw this movie once a few years ago and when I remembered it, I thought it would be eye-rolling awfulness. Rewatching it, this is an Amazing Film. I'd never thought I'd say this, but Stallone and Wesley Snipes have AMAZING chemistry and banter. The only thing I genuinely detest about this movie is the product placement (I Could Handle Taco Bell, but Oldsmobile and the Commercial Radio Network?) This really would be on the Fast Five/Crank 2 side of this show.

    Episode 63.5 — Minisode 63.5

I honestly thought it would be weeks until they acknowledged the movie. The forum came up right after it premiered. The movement on the forum went from 'Christ this is bad' to 'but not fun bad', so i think they might have jumped the gun. Still should be hilarious, but I'm not seeing it.
  10. This is just a suggestion. Not a criticism, not a conspiracy, just a suggestion, but can there be a portion of the next minisode where Paul explains how he is going to use the FYI results, because this is frankly making the members come off as conspirators and the mods, or hell, everyone come off as dicks.

    Episode 63.5 — Minisode 63.5

I genuinely want to know if M. Night is aware that his movies have been progressively getting worse, or if he is genuinely just hoping for another Sixth Sense at one point.
  12. Hey, it could be worse. They could have chosen Lady in the Water.

    The First Wives Club (1996)

Bette Midler's Character is basically a treasure trove of one liners. I would've thought that Goldie Hawn would have been the biggest diva on set, but I genuinely believe she was drunk for most shots
  14. I would think Paul would be aware of it, at least via his Yo Gabba Gabba connections. Also, this movie somehow spent $20 Million on Marketing. I repeat, $20 Million on Marketing And yet I didn't know it existed until maybe 4 months ago. Insanity.

    Episode 63.5 — Minisode 63.5

And to pick not second, but third place as the inaugural winner really makes me question what it would actually take to get these guys to see a movie.

    Episode 63.5 — Minisode 63.5

BUT HOT DOG MAN NEEDS TO BE DISCUSSED. RIFFTRAX CAN ONLY ENTERTAIN ME FOR SO LONG! Oh, and can you let us know ahead of time whether you are leaning towards It's Pat or The Garbage Pail Kids Movie so I can watch one and make up more conspiracies when you choose the other.

    Episode 63.5 — Minisode 63.5

Oh, fuck no. No no no no no no no no no. No. As for Happening-gate, just be upfront with us, Paul. You aren't doing it because June was on New Girl and Zooey is still friends with M. Night, and that The Smurfs episode was taken down because Jayma Mays was on The League. Multi-Episode guest appearances strike again.

    Oblivion

I has to read your post three times, Shannon. What on earth are you saying. Why is so much set up complicatedly and then forgotten?!? WHAT IS HAPPENING?!? ***enters dark underbelly on society and internet to find movie
  19. inactiveuser501

    Oblivion

I remember my dad wanting to see it and I didn't feel like it. Shannon do not make me regret that decision. Tell me, entering the movie, what did you Think the plot was and how insane did it stray from that. All I know about this movie is that Tom Cruise is walking on a bridge in the posters. Morgan Freeman is in this. I pray to God it's on DVD

    Oblivion

From Rotten Tomatoes, "Tom Cruise stars in Oblivion, an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the visionary director of TRON: Legacy and producers of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man's confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind, 2077." How Grandiose. I am interested. Tell me more.

    Good Burger (1997)

Oh god, that scene where they show all of the insane people dancing is the only reason I searched to see if this was a topic yet! The kid in me says it's just wacky zaniness, while the HDTGM lover in me is saying "Are they teaching children that this is what mentally disturbed people are like?!?" I will admit that this movie was way better than I thought it would be, but I was really looking through the lense of what is going on.

    Good Burger (1997)

I'd also like to take the time to say that Abe Vigoda stars in this movie. Not a cameo, not an appearance. He has a full on role that affects the plot. And is, hands down, one of the greatest things I've ever seen. Watch this just to see Abe Vigoda wandering around Good Burger with no direction.
  23. Oh trust me, it's worth it. I was just laughing at myself when I was trying to find any assemblance of plot or motivation in this film. This is truly one of the few films where it just keeps topping itself over and over again with horribleness. I don't know where to begin. The southern belle mirror, J. Edgar, the balloons, Cloris Leachman's Drunken Grandma, Cary Elwes doing whatever the hell he's doing here. Special notice does need to be taken by the Toni Braxton scene. I genuinely felt that they were trying to sexualize her and to have her sing not a fast paced kids song, but a Ballad on sneezing and coughing was mind-boggling. And I was infuriated at the fact that for no reason at all, Toni Braxton's character, Rosalie Rosebud, who loves roses, also is allergic to them. This has to be a billion times more crazy than The Smurfs, so it needs to be seen!

    Good Burger (1997)

I was semi-exposed to All That as a mid-nineties kid (Lori Beth Denburg's Vital Information Forever!), but this film still is insane. For a children's film, it isn't the worst, and it could very well fall under "Wonderfully Crazy but Needs to Be Discussed" for these guys.

    Iron Man 3

I also would have liked a story line of Pepper and the extremis and her being her own heroine (which, I guess, would go into a Hancock type deal where she is like Charlize Theron, hiding her powers). I guess I really am just questioning why that scene was in there (It didn't help that I was in a theater with audible gasps at that scene). I was just REALLY annoyed that they just announced via narration that pepper was cured with no explanation beyond "we had the money and resour... I am just now realizing Pepper was cured by that formula Stark had in Switzerland. Nevermind, carry on.
