Yeah its been said before, but the basis of the podcast is them counting down the top 5 songs (maybe pop crap, maybe obscure stuff that is new to everyone in the room), and the top 5 movies (almost always the overall US box office numbers). If you aren't into pop music and hate popular movies, don't worry, this is probably the podcast for you. Kulap likes some mainstream stuff, but Howard is definitely resistant to a lot of it, movies specifically. So much of the show is them and the guest lightly dissing the popular songs and movies of the week. Kulap is a great host, Howard is a strange man, and that is basically the dynamic. Kulap carries the show forward, and Howard's nonsensical ideas and thoughts will cause plenty of tangents which become hilarious and great discussions as the show goes on. Two Charted is basically an after-show (but its released on Fridays), so after the guest has left, Kulap Howard and the engineer (usually Brett or 'Stard as howard calls him since he makes his own mustards) have a show where they talk about what they want to, whether its the Grammy Awards that aired, or what they did over the weekend. Generally, don't bother listening to Two Charted until you are sold on Who Charted. I was told to listen by a friend, after we discussed both listening to comedy bang bang. I started by going thru the backlog and listening to episodes with guests I know I enjoy, and that's exactly how I would suggest you give it a shot. You might get lost with some topical discussions about the seasons changing but you'll be fine Hope you enjoy it!

Also reminded me of his role on Kroll Show's "Signing Bonus", which was hilarious

I'm a big Pardo fan but that grew out of his appearances on CBB in the past. Started listening to NNF early in 2015 and was quickly sold on it. That said, you may not be thrilled by Jimmy's appearances on CBB but find his show to be hilarious. He's a lot different when he is the guy and when he is the guest, but I think he is always a great CBB "first guest" or "Co-host". For example, near the beginning of this one, Jimmy is just flat out funny when discussing banal topics like sending Scott a picture of his kid holding a shirt that says What up Hot Dog even though it just said whats up dog. On his podcast he is playing more of a character, he will let out biting awful insensitive jokes that I find hilarious, and chew the shit out of his crew (which I also find hilarious). As others have said, give never not funny a try, pick a guest you like hearing. The Scott episodes are great, the TJ miller one recently was great, his show is usually long and very enjoyable. It isn't comedy bang bang, its more just discussing life and a persons jobs, past work, how they got in the business, but theres always funny moments in there. Skip the first 20-30 minutes which is prebabble to the main show when the guest arrives, but as soon as you like the NNF crew, start listening to the beginning, theres almost always great laughs in there. I think it was last week's episode had such a great Pardo joke something like this: Jimmy was at an arena football game telling a story: Jimmy-So theres a group of Armenian guys in front of us Matt-Why does it matter that they were Armenian? Jimmy-Just let me finish! 2 guys with a wife and a kid in front of us, one of them was a nice friendly good guy... and the other guy..... was Armenian! if you don't find that funny, I dont want to find you

I too enjoyed the 'stard laughter faintly audible

Great point made by Adomian about the voice replication on pop songs. Every time I hear part of a Taylor Swift song, which is often since I listen to Who Charted, I'm distracted by the fact that there always has to be 5 Taylor Swift's singing. How bad does her voice sound when its just 1?

More Kumail and Rog!!!! I guess Kumail's been on a lot but I really like hearing his voice, although not enough into his own podcast subjects to listen regularly I think I've been cool to Erin's past appearances but I enjoyed some of this one. It's good when a character brings enough weirdness in premise that it invites Scott and the other guests to ask WYR type questions that make the story exponentially more insane

Polish Howard was hilarious, but I was thinking he was off on Paulina Porizkova. Polish names tend to end in ski/sky and that's not just a joke punchline. Looked it up and it turns out she's czech, but maybe she speaks polish??

I agree, near the end it became apparent that Beck needs to become a regular, at least whenever he's in the Hollywood nights area

StanSitwell replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Hooray Show with Horatio
I support this and want to add, if they did nothing but chat candidly about current events with the occasional comedy bit thrown in, it would definitely put the Hooray Show into my "always listen" group and out of my "depending on guest and if I run out of pods that week" group -
"Bitch where's my Monet?", said the only pimp in history to charge impressionist paintings instead of cash.

I like it as just "Bitch wheres my Monet?" -
Gu Cruise video is definitely more glorious than I had anticipated. Also nice to hear a guest finally say something not negative about that "Dance with me" song. I wouldn't say I love it, but I think its one of the less nauseating radio songs that comes on in my brief radio listens (sometimes you run out of fresh podcasts to listen to on the commute)

So I read online today that the new Pixar movie "Inside Out" has a fan favorite character called Bing Bong (great creativity there by the way Pixar team!), so does this mean that Scott will no longer be able to lovingly call his show Comedy Bing Bong without paying royalties to that damned mouse on the train?

If witches and butts were candies and nuts, this witch costume I bought would suddenly make a lot of sense -
Seriously? Have you listened to U Talking U2 To Me? because I didn't really notice it until listening to that. When all the talking sounds like the same damn voice it hits you quick

Brooks definitely sounded a little like TJ Miller to me

I cant believe Obama went to Maron's garage, and I wish he included the Earwolf studios as a part of his podcast tour. I can't even imagine what it would be like to listen to Barack Hussein Obamacare mixed in with a somewhat normal episode of CBB. Who would you guys most want to hear on an episode with Obama? Theres a lot to think about but Adomian's Bernie Sanders would bring a lot of fun discussion
-
hey Bernie Sanders' son, I'm not sure if this is an attempt at comedy but if it is you've gone too far for it to be comedy. Besides, your suits are off base because this is called "Talkin' 'Tang", not "Talkin' Tang"
-
Brooks' Howard definitely had a dash of Lee involved but it completely killed me. Please Brooks, join Howard for this whole East coast tour and open the Boston show with pure unadulterated Howard impression
-
No worries bud, it's freakin glorious, thank you!!!

This really was some episode. Early on the HeyNingMan talk made me almost hyperventilate behind the wheel, I definitely lost my composure when the ET - No homo discussion came up, as well as all of those scott puns that zouks and PFT lambasted. This is a definite dream team, I need more Zouks as co-host of CBB
-
That Mantzouks Heynongman picture is friggin excellent, you guys are always so amazing with the multimedia on here. If I were still in college, I would probably waste weeks putting together this type of stuff but now I sit here and comment at work, so that isn't happening. While listening to the episode, I was thinking I would buy a poster of one of those "hang in there"s with a kitten hanging from a tree, but obviously it says "Hey Ning there" instead. So if anyone makes that, I will buy it for an appropriate price (I'll print it in a shitty 4'x6' and tape it up in my cube)

Glad I could help, this is what my brain is invited to think about when my morning listen encounters a slow traffic jam
-
Not bad art work there, I was thinking it would be great if the boobs were attached to a torso and were the type that hang a little low and to the outside of the torso. That way the boobs would be at the correct angles to be the open and close type of apostrophes for "Talkin' 'Tang"

Episode 1618 - Dave Holmes
StanSitwell replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
Hey gang, its June 12, so its time to laugh it up all summer with the gang from Orange is the New Black. I've got my plans for the weekend, side-splitting gut-busters of lesbian prison rape baby!! -
Thank you for your honest opinions, but your comment about the beatles saying "yeah" in their songs does not pertain to me issue with these new pop hip hop songs. I'm talking about when "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" in a quiet voice is literally a part of the beat for the entire song, like the beat is a recording of a guy saying "yeah", not like in the lyrics the singer says the word yeah a few times, I'm fine with that. I wouldn't say I hate all of this type of stuff that I lump together, for example your mention of Rae Sremmurd, I think they are the artist behind "no flex zone". I wouldn't say I 'like' no flex zone, but I find the chorus and singing along to be addictive or fun as you explain you find Trap Queen, I just cant connect to it at all in any way
