Episode 316 β€” In the Larp Run

I saw Mr Brooks recently and was surprised I didn't think it was bad, and Dane Cook was actually good in it, right for it, and so on. I am surprised to read that a bunch of commenters are younger and were in middle school when he was in control of the comedy landscape. I think Dane was a bit off with his timing, as I was in college and recall him coming to my school, so it had to be around 2003-2005 at that time. I went because a bunch of friends wanted to go, but I can recall already being at the point of "this guy is so overrated and not actually all that funny". He definitely got bigger after that, and he definitely was very funny when I did see him. I thought of him as a joke kind of now, but I was fine with him on the show. The serious tone of his interview was definitely driven there by Scott, some of the most serious questions I've ever heard him ask a guest for sure, so only blame Scott if you thought it wasn't funny enough. I thought it towed the line of not funny enough and just enough gentle CBB tangents to keep me fully entertained and interested. I went away from the Pcast liking Dane a lot more and definitely not holding his past against him in his future endeavors.... but if this special he's advertising for sucks... then I'll go through another Dane Cook-cleanse
  2. haha I enjoyed Scott A's slight mention of Karmin. I couldn't honestly tell if he does truly like them or if he was just being nice as like a "I like (some of their music kind of)", but that damn woman annoyed the hell out of me! If they dont have more pop hits (cross our fingers), this will be an amazingly funny reference in about a decade like a reference to say Snow, Ace of Bass, or Cece Peniston Thanks for shutting that listening sesh down quick, A Scott

    Episode 315 β€” Sandwich Therapy

I think of the same thing, but in my head its Kroll as Gil Faizon talking about mowing down on some nice olive loaf from Sbarr's

    Episode 201.5 β€” 10/10/14 TWO CHARTED 140

Is it possible 'stard, as a music producer, never realized his initials were BPM? Just assuming things here, but.... BLAME IT ON THE WEEEEEEEEE

    Episode 201 β€” What’s Your Hub?

Yeah I wasn't the biggest fan of her from CBB appearances but I really like how she's doing so far on who charted. She blends in much better with Kuku and howard
  6. Hi, you quoted my post, which was quoting the post that you quoted me as the speaker of. I'm not happy about that, don't pretend I'm one of the people upset with Cameron's mention of being gay, because I'm not. Please be a little more careful with who and what you're quoting, I dont like being taken so out of context that you attack me although we share the same view on the subject
  7. I'm still like halfway in so maybe she keeps it on her sexuality, but early on I felt like Scott was prodding her with her sexuality being the only topic, as a joke the way Scott jokes... so if you are taking the early subject use in this, you should be blaming scott for focusing on that, not her.
  8. Comedy Bing Bang, THE place you turn for hastily created ads for tech startups, monthly snack mailings, and payment for archaic forms of written communication.... but this week we're gonna do things a little different. Let's try some comedy

    Episode 313 β€” Gumbo Challenge

I'm with you, I like Horatio on CBB, when I see his name in the lineup on a Monday morning, it makes me as happy as seeing Adomian or PFT there. He might not have been in my all time favorite 10 episodes, but his always are good enough, never forgettable

    Episode 313 β€” Gumbo Challenge

I'm honestly not the biggest fan of the TV show, doesnt make me laugh out loud like the pcast does, but Benny Schwas's appearances have ruined me! They should have used like all of this, specifically the "hit it!" with him dancing on scott

Which Movies Does HDTGM Absolutely Need To Review?

I hope you don't think they would dislike Pain & Gain, it would probably be one of their most liked movies, up there with the recent Fast & Furious

    Episode 199.5 β€” 9/26/14 TWO CHARTED 138

"76 by 14 All Day" better be a DBS album title at some point

Episode 199 β€” Freedom and Abandon

I liked Jensen, first time hearing him, and was annoyed by Nova. I agree with many of the points above, her attitude about other artists, particularly mainstream ones irked me, but I had reserved judgment until listening to some of her music to see if she is as above the pop market as she gives the air of. Her music is pretty trash, not all that different from some cali rap I used to listen to from the likes of say Shwayze. To me, clearly my opinion only, she seemed to think she was like a spotlight guest and we cared that she doesnt know anything about anything. The choosing to live in the ghetto, blowing record advance money on stupidity when after listening there doesn't appear to be any reason to assume she'll get money like that again... Sometimes you should be a little in the pocket with things that will make you look stupid and foolish, rather than basically bragging about them like it makes you such a badass outlaw. and having a Wutang album as your favorite and making that kind of rap music??? confusing to me...

    Episode 312 β€” Grounded Me@

Samberg is definitely top 10 best CBB guests, in the way that you can tell they are so comfortable and goofy with each other that they both have a blast being completely weird and random with each other

    Episode 311 β€” Denny’s Boys

Yeah shortly after recording it they must not have had space, but maybe Scott was worried they'd miss a week so he'd hold this one back in case, I'm relatively new (been religiously listening for a year or two) but it seems like Scott never misses a week. This was odd because of the regular episode having another State alum and talking so much about their reunion show at Festival Supreme, and clearly this episode didn't have the knowledge yet. Would have been funny if Scott dubbed in some questions about it and Cody-Cody botched some edited responses of Joe's using his speech throughout the episode

    Episode 309 β€” Tony Macaroni

I literally can't wrap my head around liking CBB but not liking Kroll on CBB or not liking Kroll at all. His performances as Gil Faizon, Stallone, and now R Schrift are great stupid comedy. If you dont like him in that one with Mulaney and Lizzy Caplan, you should just give up I used to be annoyed by Wompler and Lissler but they've grown on me, and for the most part the annoyance was caused by Wompler's shrill voice. Took some time for the comedy to shine past the shrillness

Episode 198 β€” Big Long Lie

Only half way through so far, but I was not a fan of how the guest chose to try to make Howie seem more racialist than he really is, KuKu too to a degree. When he was poking fun at that rap song, many of the words were in English, he wasn't making fun of the different language. I felt like he was making the statement that, like Christian rock, their lyrical topics seem limited. When you hear a lot of foreign hip hop/rap, its like all they feel comfortable saying is stuff like "I'm so great" "I'm the greatest ever", which is like Christian rock saying mostly "He's so great" "He's the greatest ever" So yeah, color me as a non-fan of the guest, if you work for Buzzfeed you shouldn't have this air of being better than others, really

Episode 310 β€” Little Button Puss

I would like to add Pete Holmes into your group, but I fully agree Allison belongs, and I dont recall if he laughed a ton on CBB ever, but when he was on How Did This Get Made his laugh was the most common sound on the recording. The instant I heard Kevin's laugh it took me back to the days of watching The State. His performance as Dan Cortese on MTV Sports changed my life.

    Episode 309 β€” Tony Macaroni

anastasia, I agree, and i find it so hilariously absurd that it took Kroll bringing out the charac on CBB for this 'joke' to dawn on me. I wouldn't say rocks n roll was one of the bits that stayed with me the longest, so I have to go back and watch again to see if I catch any of the bad ways he might display an aussie putting on an american accent I could go for a CBB with Mantzoukas and Kroll as C-Czar, I think thoes two would clash nicely
  21. StanSitwell

    Episode 309 β€” Tony Macaroni

so can anyone else who's a Kroll Show fan chime in here? Kroll bringing out R Schrift made total sense with the aussie chick there, but halfway through that character work something about the character on Kroll Show dawned on me. They do a long drawn out intro to the show in which Kroll does the voiceover with that thick thick aussie accent that he used on CBB here, however when it gets to the actual show... R Schrift's 'character' of the renegade geologist speaks like a Californian or something, but plainly American, right? Hearing this episode made me wonder if this was an elaborate and yet subtle joke on the kroll show that I missed, that he's an aussie, but he doesn't sound like one at all
  22. StanSitwell

    Episode 309 β€” Tony Macaroni

yeah, and throw some "ohh shuuua"s too. I am a big fan of throwing those and some pained "yyea"s into conversation unexpectedly
  23. StanSitwell

    Episode 309 β€” Tony Macaroni

Can Kroll just please start his own podcast where he just rambles as Gil Faizon? He jumped into his old jewy voice early on here a bit, and there might be nothing that makes me laugh more on the planet Earth I don't need high intensity well thought out bits, just him reading a shopping list as Gil would be enough
  24. StanSitwell

    Episode 309 β€” Tony Macaroni

Am I the only one who was really thrown off by the title in the iPhone's podcast app? It usually says the ep# and then the guests, today just "Tony Macaroni", so I was relieved to see that Nick Clown and Jimmy Pardo were on it and not some weird indie parody group called Tony Macaroni
