    Serendipity (2001)

This movie makes me mad on so many levels. I don't understand how John Cusack got cast in so many romantic lead roles. He is entirely devoid of anything resembling charisma or charm in this. That aside, both Cusack and Beckingsale are both terrible people in this movie. They meet each other in a mall randomly while dating two other people and have a flirty encounter that goes nowhere. That by itself is one thing. The fact that they then spend next few years continuing to date their respective significant others to the point of getting engaged, while simultaneously searching for each other is another. At least Beckingsale's character has the benefit of being engaged to a Yanni facsimile, so its understandable why shes got cold feet. Cusack is engaged to a perfectly lovely woman who seems to genuinely care for him and Cusack spends the movie running in terror from her. It just blows my mind thinking back at all the big rom-coms that end with a climax of the two leads essentially dumping people at the altar so they can run off with whatever person they've been emotionally (or physically) cheating with throughout the movie. And were supposed to root for those people at the end.

    The Jackal (1997)

Bump for this, theres so much to talk about. Richard Gere's accent in this is so terrible it should almost be considered a hate crime. The wigs and disguises they put on Bruce Willis are an absolute joy to behold. Also features an early and delightful appearance from Jack Black

    Daylight (1996)

Bump for this awful movie. Watching Geostorm made me think of the rash of ecological disaster movies that were playing in the early 2000's/ late 90's. Volcano, Dantes Peak, Twister etc. I remember going to see this in theatres as a kid because of how much I liked Demolition Man, boy did I leave disappointed.

    Carbon Copy (1981)

Watched Ricochet the other day, and it made me think of this also early Denzel Washington role. Even at the end when George Segal "learns his lesson" that all of his and his friends horrifically racist pre-dispositions are horse shit, this movie still manages to feel racist. Which is impressive in and of itself. But Denzel Washington is amazing in this. Its incredibly easy to see how he catapulted to fame in subsequent years.

    Carbon Copy (1981)

Since were talking about Soul Man. I don't know if anyone else has seen this gem but it's amazing. It's all sorts of wrong. http://youtu.be/Mwv655uA_Gw

    Freaked (1993)

Watched this the other day, the jokes and writing dont particularly stand the test of time all that well. But the creature effects and prosthetics that are clearly designed after the artwork of Ed Roth are still pretty impressive, especially given the budget.

Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009)

This movie was just put back on Netflix. Regardless of whether or not they cover this movie at some point, I really recommend it for a watch. John C Reilly is committed and gives a very fun performance. Just a genuinely bizarre movie all around.
  8. In terms of movies based off of goofy YA vampire series. I think that this would have been a much more fun watch for everyone. And strangely enough also has a bunch of different weird side species of vampires. If you havent seen this yet, its very much worth if only for a delightfully campy John C Reilly and Ray Stevenson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxWMY-OyUbE

Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde (1995)

This movie is all sorts of fun I highly recommend giving it a watch. It's so incredibly bizarre, the morphing scenes with Tim Daly and Sean Young are a sight to behold.

    Derailed (2005)

So I figured why not celebrate the downfall of The Weinstein Co. with a trashing of their first U.S. release. Genuinely terrible in every way. There are very few people in this movie that you arent actively rooting against throughout, and that includes Clive Owen as the lead.
  11. The casting of this movie really is unfortunate. Bruce Willis had exactly zero fucking charisma in The Fifth Element, the reason it ended up working despite the lead being as captivating as a loaf of bread is that everyone else in the movie was chewing all the scenery all the time. Milla Jovanich, Gary Oldman, Chris Tucker, Tiny Lister, etc. were all behaving like lunatics the entire movie which made it alot of fun despite how nonsensical both the plot and dialogue were. This movie felt like everyone was Bruce Willis. It also makes me sad for Clive Owen, everyone should watch Children of Men and remember he's capable of so much more.

    Episode 183.5 - Minisode 183.5

Yea it was a super wiggy season. I'd love to hears June's thoughts on the wig work this season.

    Episode 183.5 - Minisode 183.5

I get that they were going for a recurring theme with various stages of addiction being portrayed by several characters. It was just so ham fisted in terms of its implementation into the story.

Jade would be an awesome excuse to bring Amy Schumer back............

Rewatched this fairly recently. Still as terrible as I remember while still being incredibly watchable.

Bump because this movie is everything.

    Episode 183 - Ladybugs: LIVE!

Finally getting back to my usual routines, just wanted to pop in with my sole omission here. Cant believe none of the hosts pointed out that the girl who listed her interests as boys several times, also listed A Wrinkle in Time as her favorite book. It just struck me as an amazing coincidence considering the movie is now in theaters. Also now that we've proven that covering a Jonathan Brandis movie doesnt automatically make it a bummer, can we do Sidekicks too..............

    The Skateboard Kid (1993)

The kids mother may not be spiritually possessing his skateboard in this one. But if any of you have ever wondered if Dom Deluise ever voiced a wisecracking animatronic skateboard, consider that part of your life fulfilled.

    Ladybugs (1992)

Credit goes to PlanB for reminding me of this crazy mess. There are at the very least two things that necessitate this movie being done: Jackée Dangerfield teaching a 13 year old girl how to be sexy.

    The Skulls (2000)

Such a terrible movie, although Billy Petersons southern accent is pretty fucking wonderful. I can only imagine that the university secret societies wish they had an estate with a dueling arena.

    Episode 173 - Virtuosity: LIVE!

So it'll take me a couple of days to catch up and rewatch this movie, if only to see Russell Crowes glorious bubble butt. I live in Sonoma County which just had some horrific wildfires i'd encourage anyone whose able to donate to some of the relief efforts. My wife's family lives less than a mile from Coffey Park which is one of the neighborhoods being shown on TV that looks like an atomic bomb went off. My family are all okay but there are tons of people suddenly without homes.

    Bird On A Wire (1990)

I unironically enjoy this movie, Goldie Hawn and Mel are both great in this. The plot may be a bit by the numbers but overall it's a solid 80's comedy.
