The First Wives Club (1996)
Ofcoursemyhorse replied to inactiveuser501's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Bump for this movie which I have seen far too many times. -
Its funny that you brought up Face Off in regards to this movie because the cop he plays in the movie feels like it could have been Caster Troy's back story, and he's the same character in both and easily could have worn that suit in either movie.

My favorite part of this movie happens in the last couple minutes when the CIA director says that Farrell was born to be in the CIA and offers him a job. This is of course after he had been duped by Pacino into murdering an actual CIA agent.

The best thing about this movie is that I can all but guarantee that this movie was an attempt to recreate the success of Pretty Woman in a more "family friendly" PG rating. Its like someone watched Pretty Woman and thought "that was fun, now if only if there was a movie about a man falling in love with a prostitute that I could watch with my children too."

Its hard to know which is the more deserving of discussion this or Christmas with the Kranks, because they're both awful.

Good reviews or IMDB score should never stop them from doing a crazy movie. Otherwise we'll never see them cover Bad Lieutenant, and that'd be a goddamn shame.

The signs of a bad movie list

HEY! Stealth was not about nu-metal it was very clearly about Incubus. Stealth would have been twice as hilarious if Korn had been the ones to have had like 8 songs on that movies soundtrack. -
Sleepaway Camp will always be number one to me. The fact that they spent like 15 min slowly and carefully trying to untangle the relationship of the two men and the stepmom and never actually figured it out was absolutely amazing.

What bothers me about this movie is that in no way should it have gotten a wide release. And clearly i'm not the only one who thinks so, otherwise the advertising team for the movie wouldnt have had to actively lie to theater goers with trailers and commercials for this movie that are painting it as something it isnt. There are levels that I can appreciate this movie on. Its beautifully shot and all the actors in it did fantastic jobs. Or that Aronofsky made a film that he knew would make people feel uncomfortable. If he at all had a hand in the promotional trailers designed to fool people into thinking that was a more standard horror/thriller film, it'd be hilarious. But this movie just makes you uncomfortable, even people who enjoyed it have admitted that a second viewing is almost inconceivable.

And this movie landed an F on cinemascore.

I remember watching Holy Motors because it had like a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, my wife was so furious with me for making her watch it with me. I did like Noah and his earlier film The Fountain. Requiem for a Dream was thoroughly depressing but undeniably thought provoking. I just couldn't get into this though, and it just actively made me angry while watching.

Lumping Boys on the Side and Mad Love is unfair for sure. I just remember watching both of those movies when I was like 13 because it was my mom's turn to pick the movies at blockbuster. And to say I wasn't the target audience for either of those movies is an understatement.

Episode 171 - Miami Connection: LIVE!

This was a movie that would have greatly benefitted from an on-set dentist. Had a great time with this movie and episode. I'm confused though, were all the Ninjas the rednecks that Yashito was jamming with at that huge barbeque? Because I was really bummed to not see alot more beer bellies underneath those ninja outfits -
If they do dive into 90's era bad Barrymore movies this is a solid choice because at the very least it's a more fun watch than also bad movies Mad Love, and that other one with Whoopi Goldberg which name escapes me at this moment.

After watching this, Only the Strong and Brotherhood of the Wolf over the last couple months i've realized how criminally underutilized Mark Dascascos has been. He's by no means an amazing actor but his enthusiasm and energy not too mention his obvious martial arts talents just make him so much fun to watch in whatever he's in.

Dr. Otto and Riddle of the Gloom Beam (1986)

I've watched this twice in the last week and a half and I still don't know what the hell it is. If they ever do another Ernest movie it should be this though. The other movies would just be retreads of Goes to Jail. This is fucking bizarre and would make for a fascinating discussion. -
To be fair it's not like The Flintstones cartoon was particularly better in terms of writing or anything. I think the movies biggest flaw was trying to replicate the cartoon too closely. Which came from an era of some very un funny comedy.

Couldn't be happier that Trevorrow lost his star wars movie and that this hunk of garbage was a contributing factor. I've recently rewatched Jurassic World and really can't get over how bad that movie was. Especially when watched after the original.

The scene where Christopher Lloyd dumps that kid on the porch after he falls asleep still makes me laugh. -
Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009)

This would make an amazing episode for Halloween. -
Fosters great and at least he was going for something in the movie. Bruce just kind of listlessly floats through this movie after the delightful opening scene. Kim Coates is easily one of my favorite character actors of all time. He's great in everything he does. X-change is a fun watch to see him in a leading role.

It's hilarious how little fucks were given by him in that opening scene. The dude on the phone is clearly losing his shit and at no point sounds anywhere near calm enough for Bruce to be exhibiting the level of confidence that he does. Ben Foster is just fascinating to watch in this movie, the director was actively encouraging him throughout so his bizarre performance just takes over.

Please tell me im not the only moron who watched Bratz Starrin and Stylin.

There are some amazing movie commentaries. Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzenegger and paul Verhouven is hysterical. Its Arnold basically narrarating everything happening onscreen and disagreeing with Paul on whether or not the events of the movie were in fact a dream. Armegeddon with Ben Affleck is pretty great too, he just openly mocks the horseshit science and logic displayed throughout the movie. Also if anyone wants to know how close Brendan Fraser really is to the character he plays in Blast from the Past should listen to his solo commentary for The Mummy.

I know that Clive wasnt happy with original cut of the movie which had significant edits outside his control. I think the directors cut added at least another twenty minutes. I did love all the costume and makeup work on the monsters they were all fascinating to look at.
