I'm not sure if this one was already posted or not, I searched like 5 times and couldnt find it. It would really surprise me if I was the first to suggest this fairly insane movie. Rewatched this on Netflix a few days ago, I hadnt seen since I was a kid and it was on regular rotation on HBO. There are so many weird aspects to this movie. I think the most glaringly WTF scene has to be the one where a tiny spaceship gives birth to three smaller spaceships, one of which turns out to be stillborn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJmvsb13dA8

*Batteries Not Included (1987)

Now now I didnt say I didnt like the movie, when the artist dude (whom I'll always remember as the douchey attorney guy who always went against Jack Mccoy in Law Order) shows the pregnant woman the portrait he's painting is her with her top open, I knew this was my kind of movie. That being said one of the main characters in this "comedy" is a woman going through full blown dementia, and not even the funny Mr. Magoo style dementia. And I really cant stress this enough, this movie has a pregnant spaceship in it. -
This really is a solid episode waiting to happen.

Am I crazy or did this movie actually do OK in the box office much to everyone's surprise. Also Ray Liotta looks pretty darn coked out throughout the entire movie

Never Talk to Strangers (1995)
Ofcoursemyhorse replied to Ofcoursemyhorse's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Karl Pilkington still thinks shes a viable choice for his movie. Dennis Miller was never going to work as an actor, first off he cant act. Second the only roles he was ever going to get were smug pricks who served as "comic relief" before getting unceremoniously killed off or the asshole boyfriend who loses the perfect girl he had no business being with in the first place. -
Awful movie, Antonio Banderas makes it far more enjoyable than it has any right to be.

Worth it for the scenes where Gina Gershon and Judd Nelson have full conversations while standing motionless as living mannequins. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/flinch/ The full movie is on youtube and I doubt anyone who owns the rights to this one are going to be making any attempts to remove it.

Is high spirits the same one with Peter o Toole? Because I unabashedly love that fucking movie. It really is a bad movie, but i'd still rate it higher than In Dreams just because at least High Spirits has a little bit of fun with its premise. Peter O'Toole being seemingly drunk throughout filming and Liam Neeson's amazing performance make it an exceedingly fun watch. In Dreams is just weird, bad, and thoroughly depressing.

Yea this is a fucking weird movie. I think the premise alone would bum June out.

This episode is going to be amazing if only for when they talk about the scene with everyone dressed as fucking teddy bears.

Watching this movie again, Barry has like a million times more sexual chemistry with the bully than he does with Winnie from Wonder Years. I'm also sad that every single dream sequence werent realized as full length features after this movie came out. I think every one had the potential to be solid gold.

The fact that this movie is so watchable is entirely more reason why I'd rather see them cover this one than some other terrible generic action movie from the 80's. It also has Joe Piscopo playing what I think is Mongolian in one of the kid's fantasies. Theres alot wrong with this movie even though its a genuinely enjoyable movie to watch.

The Mummy Returns (2001)
Ofcoursemyhorse replied to PeterMustain's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Its definitely entertaining. And I did really like that instead of having Rachel Weisz be the damsel in distress again they gave her a bunch of action scenes. But when I was watching it again, there was just so much crazy shit happening. Theres just so much curses between the scorpion king, and then Imhotep having to do the same curse he did in the first movie only he does it in one scene on the train. Somehow Brendan Fraser is in the same order as Oded Fehr, because he was tattooed as a child (apparently solarbabies had it right). Rachel Weisz may be the reincarnation of an egyptian but she looks identical to her ancestor. And I really dont think that ancient egyptians looked much like Rachel Weisz. Oh yea and John Hannah's character randomly having the magical spear they needed to kill the Scorpion King was also glorious in its not giving a fuck about making any sense.- 7 replies

Never mind, I just rewatched this on Netflix. Holy shit this one is bad. Theres so much shit going on, somehow Rachel Weisz is egyptian in this one, and apparently so is Brendan Fraser. Theres also like five active curses throughout the course of the movie too.- 7 replies

Am I losing it or did Paul say this movie was pretty good or something along those lines on the Top Dog episode? I think he and June should rewatch this gem and see if his opinion on it stays the same.
-
Jeremy Irons makes this movie more watchable than it deserves to be.

Anyone whose ever been a fan of John Lithgow ( which should be everybody, the mans a goddamn national treasure.) should give this movie a shot. It's insane but very watchable.

I remember reading that a significant portion of the audience walked out on this movie at Sundance.

Episode 135 - Solarbabies: LIVE!
Ofcoursemyhorse replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I also dont understand how shoulderpads and plastic jacket knew exactly what Bohdai was like immediately. They were talking about how much credit they were going to get for finding it, and they even had a device that seemed like it was specifically built to destroy Bohdai. -

I also loved the "fight" scene in Tire Town. Because they have to fight on rollerskates it severly limits their abilities to do anything resembling fighting, so they just kind of spin around poles alot into people, and alot of guards are dispatched by just pushing them over like dominoes. As for Flying man's ethnicity in this movie. This greatly confuses me, because based on the symbol he has on his back and the blanket covering his bunk looks native americanish. But then when he finds his people and the first guy he meets looks like Hugh Laurie, my mind was blown. -

The greatest thing about the entire movie is how much an asshole Bohdai is. That orb can fly on its on own, dematerialize and then reappear. So the fact that it keeps letting itself get stolen the whole movie is pretty insane. Not too mention it takes until the end of the movie before the orb releases the water. Coincedentally after the orb has killed a woman. Which leads me to believe that apparently its human sacrifice that Bohdai needs to activate its water powers.
