Xanadu was actually a spiritual sequel to the 1947 film Cover Girl, which also starred Gene Kelly where in both movies, his character's name is Danny McGuire.
-
This movie and "A View to a Kill" are going to be covered by the gang at Largo next Friday!
-
Anyone want to take a stab as to see who the All-Stars cohosts will be?
-
The theme for Largo next month is Bad Sequels. Anyone care to guess what the two films will be?

This movie reunites Woody Harrelson with his "White Men Can't Jump" director Ron Shelton, who also casted his wife and frequent collaborator Lolita Davidovich (Blaze, Cobb, Hollywood Homicide). While "White Men" worked well for Harrelson and Shelton, "Play It to the Bone" however not so much. Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu also went on to work together again after this film with the infamous "Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever"!

Here's this video from YouTube that showcased Miley Cyrus's "intense" acting scenes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL7Yoqlhf5Y

You get to see Sylvester Stallone with a beard, plus he disguises himself as a woman at the end of the film in order to kill Rutger Hauer. Other notable fact about Nighthawks was that this was Hauer's first US production after years of Dutch work.

Time to add Demi Moore on the list thanks to Nothing But Trouble and LOL!

What about one of Vince Vaughn's bad Christmas comedies with either Fred Claus or Four Christmases for this year? Oh, maybe Jonathan Taylor Thomas trying to make it as a movie star after leaving "Home Improvement" with I'll Be Home for Christmas? Not only did this film fail, we haven't heard much from him since!

81% from critics and users on Rotten Tomatoes, 7.1 out of 10 on IMDb.

Early in the show, you said that Paramount was the studio behind Rhinestone when talking about the film's trailer not showing enough scenes, but it wasn't them that was 20th Century Fox by the way.
-
I'm assuming Rhinestone will be up tomorrow, considering the minisode was up last Friday by the way.

Going Overboard with Adam Sandler (1989)
SlidePocket replied to DrewFruen's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
This is the one thing Adam Sandler is clearly embarrassed by early in his career. When you look through his website on his filmography, Going Overboard is not even listed on there, meaning he is deeply ashamed about that movie! Plus Billy Zane and Billy Bob Thornton of all people had very small parts in it! Also on the IMDb Bottom 100 by the way. -
What about Sharon?

This movie and the Planet of the Apes remake later in 2001 tried to make a star out of Estella Warren. But Driven bombed and while Apes did well at the box office, her performances in these two films were largely criticized and she won the Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress for both films. Following Kangaroo Jack, she basically disappeared until she got arrested for acting completely crazy a few years ago.

This and "The Long Kiss Goodnight" the next year tried to make Geena Davis a huge action star considering she and Renny Harlin were married at the time, but when both faltered at the box office (even though the latter was actually pretty cool), their marriage ended and Davis's movie career never fully recovered. Matthew Modine beat out a very long list of actors to play the male lead in this movie. Michael Douglas was the first choice, but dropped out because Davis's character was more expanded upon than he is. Other choices included Tom Cruise, Keanu Reeves, Liam Neeson, Jeff Bridges, Ralph Fiennes, Charlie Sheen, Michael Keaton, Daniel Day-Lewis, Tim Robbins and Gabriel Byrne, before Modine was eventually cast.

The live episode is finally coming next week!

This film reunited Travolta with his "Urban Cowboy" director James Bridges and you would think that lightning would strike twice, right? Nope. Perfect further derailed Travolta's career for a couple of years while Bridges made one last film, "Bright Lights Big City" with Michael J. Fox before his death in 1993. It's also listed as one of the funniest bad movies ever made according to the Official Razzie Movie Guide.

There's already a thread by the way: http://forum.earwolf.com/topic/10755-tango-and-cash-one-of-the-craziest-buddy-cop-movies-ever/

Well I must say, this is got to be one of the most talked about posts on a minisode ever! I wonder what minisode holds the most pages on the forum by the way?
-
Can we also talk about Vanessa Williams's aborted French accent for a change? Based on what I saw from the trailer, it seemed pretty weird to me.
-
Of all the films listed under there, only Suburban Commando hasn't even been covered yet!
-
In the film which was set in 1983, Mariah Carey performed "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On". That song didn't exist until the next year which was first done by dance singer Cherrelle, where it was most famously covered by Robert Palmer in 1986.

This was also directed by the guy (Jon Avnet) who previously worked with Pacino on none other than 88 Minutes!
