    Episode 71.5 — Minisode 71.5

The art direction and the costumes for "Toys" are really good as well, which is the reason why it ended up earning Oscar nominations for those achievements (it lost art direction to Howards End and lost costume design to Bram Stoker's Dracula). Barry Levinson got nominated for a Razzie Award for Worst Director for his work on this movie, but lost that trophy to David Seltzer for Shining Through.

    Executive Decision (1996)

Well he was nominated for his work on that movie, but Seagal didn't win. He lost Worst Supporting Actor to Marlon Brando for The Island of Dr. Moreau.

    Disorderlies (1987)

That film's soundtrack even has the hit single "I Heard a Rumour" by Bananarama, as well as Bon Jovi's "Edge of a Broken Heart" out of all the songs on that album.

    Sliver (1993)

I think you were talking about Final Analysis with him, Kim Basinger, Uma Thurman, Eric Roberts and Keith David. That one is pretty silly too.

steven segal is THE GLIMMER MAN!!!

He's talking about Steven Seagal's career, just as his success was beginning to peter out by that point.

    Gone in 60 Seconds (2000)

Sounds funny that you asked that, but Gone in 60 Seconds actually came out in theaters one year before The Fast and the Furious was released.

    Episode 70.5 — Minisode 70.5

I actually just happened to watch Keenen's followup to "The Glimmer Man" the year after that, "Most Wanted" just a few days ago. It also casted the likes of Jon Voight, Jill Hennessy, Paul Sorvino, Eric Roberts and Robert Culp. In addition to starring in it, Keenen also wrote the damn thing! And the director who made this, David Hogan, also happened to direct "Barb Wire" the year before! How crazy was that?

The movie has just been picked for next week's show!

    The Jackal (1997)

I originally only saw the trailer to this film when it was attached to my VHS copy of "Liar Liar" and a few years later I finally checked it out. Man it was terrible! Not only does this version pale in comparison to the original, you also got to see Richard Gere speaking in one of the worst Irish accents put in film. That accent probably gives Julia Roberts in "Mary Reilly" and Brad Pitt in "The Devil's Own" a run for its money!

    Getaway (2013)

There's a movie called Getaway that is out this week. No it's not the Steve McQueen/Ali MacGraw movie, nor the Alec Baldwin/Kim Basinger remake. Instead, it is a thriller about a man whose wife gets kidnapped and must go on a car chase with help from a teenage runaway. And it stars Ethan Hawke as the concerned husband, Jon Voight as the man who arranges the kidnapping, and who plays the teenage runaway? None other than Selena Gomez! Another bad sign for this film was the director Courtney Solomon, whose one of three credits that he has made was the 2000 disasterpiece "Dungeons and Dragons", and so far "Getaway" is holding a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes! Let's look at the trailer.

    Favorite Character Name

Probably my favorite character name from just recently is Cypher Raige from "After Earth", played by Will Smith.

    Paranoia (2013)

The box office opening weekend for Paranoia was released and it crashed and burned big time! It debuted at #13 with just $3.5 million (on a budget of $35 million) and it definitely looks like it's gonna be gone from theaters within the next three or four weeks.
  13. 1. Showgirls 2. Basic Instinct 2 3. The Avengers (1998) 4. Surviving Christmas - Another bad holiday movie with Ben Affleck in it, and it was even worse than Reindeer Games! 5. The Cat in the Hat
  14. Here's an omission on why "Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles" did not perform as well as its two predecessors did. The #1 film the weekend the film opened (which was April 20, 2001) was "Bridget Jones's Diary" with Renee Zellweger, which was followed by "Spy Kids" at #2 and "Along Came a Spider" with Morgan Freeman was #3, while Crocodile Dundee 3 opened only at #4 and it just went down from there.

You are right, Hogan actually did win a Golden Globe for his work in the first "Crocodile Dundee", plus that film was even nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay!

    Favorite Bad Movie Quote

From "Showgirls" my favorite bad movie quote is: Cristal: You have great tits. They look very good. Nomi: Thank you. Cristal: I like nice tits. I always have, how about you? Nomi: I like having nice tits. Cristal: How do you like having them? Nomi: What do you mean? Cristal: You know what I mean. Nomi: I like having them in a nice dress, or a tight top. Cristal: You like to show them off. Nomi: I didn't like showing them off at the Cheetah. Cristal: Why not? Everybody looked at them there, we all looked at them there. Nomi: It made me feel like a hooker. Cristal: You are a whore, darlin'. Nomi: No, I'm not! Cristal: We all are. We take the cash, we cash the check, we show them what they want to see. Nomi: Maybe you are a whore Cristal, but I'm not. Cristal: You and me? We're exactly alike. Nomi: I'll never be like you.

    The Canyons

According to Rotten Tomatoes based on its 23% rating, they considered the film to be oppressively misanthropic, was shot ineptly and serves as a sour footnote in Paul Schrader's career, but says that it does feature some decent work from Lindsay Lohan in her late-period career. It was ineptly made?!, considering Schrader's famous background in his directing and writing career?

    Episode 68.5 — Minisode 68.5

Can we all stay on topic and focus about the movie that's being covered next week, please? For Crocodile Dundee 3, this film was made by Simon Wincer, the guy who helmed "Free Willy", "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man" and "The Phantom", plus he directed the Lonesome Dove miniseries! His work is completely diverse by the pics he chose.

    Episode 68.5 — Minisode 68.5

I remember commercials for "Crocodile Dundee 3" when I was a kid in 2001 because it was rated PG and I had no idea it was part of a trilogy. We can all agree that part 1 was the best, part 2 was a bit mediocre, and part 3 went way low! Has an 11% on Rotten Tomatoes, was nominated for a Razzie for Worst Remake or Sequel (which lost to Tim Burton's "Planet of the Apes"), and did not do that well at the box office as the first two did. It came in 4th place behind "Bridget Jones's Diary" (which went to the top in its second weekend), "Spy Kids" and "Along Came a Spider". The same weekend (April 20, 2001) this movie came out, "Freddy Got Fingered" was also out in theaters! So how's that for trivia!

    Cocktail (1988)

Tom Cruise is the hottest bartender in New York, becomes friends with Bryan Brown, falls in love with Elisabeth Shue, must endure trouble where Brown's lifestyle is self-destructing and was forced by Shue's rich father to stay away from her before things work out again. Has cool bartending scenes and was filmed beautifully in Jamaica, but was so bad it was unintentionally hilarious. Razzie winner for Worst Picture and has a low score of 5% on Rotten Tomatoes. Thoughts?

    The Smurfs 2

The first Smurfs film was covered two years ago, so why not revisit it by reviewing the sequel that is out this weekend as that one is getting terrible reviews from critics like the original? What does everyone think?

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991)

I saw this last year and I found it to be pretty terrible, plus I did not expect that Simon Wincer was the guy who directed that movie before he had done "Free Willy" and "The Phantom" respectively, and it even has a very early Vanessa Williams role, a pre-"Wayne's World" Tia Carrere and a post-"Masters of the Universe" Chelsea Field. That is one heck of an interesting cast who found themselves drawn to this project.

    Blade Trinity (2004)

Oh this has to be done. I read that Wesley Snipes was angry at the director David S. Goyer for reducing his screentime in more favor of his co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel despite being the main character and that he sued Goyer and New Line Cinema for cutting him out of decisions regarding this movie, which could be one of the many reasons why "Trinity" got so much crap from both fans and critics alike. Plus it has some bad dialogue and even worse acting from the likes of Dominic Purcell and Triple H.
  25. I am actually ashamed to admit that I own Gone Fishin' on VHS! I have never gone through the whole movie, but once I will watch it in its entirety, I'm definitely not gonna see it again.
