halfway in, and the overly self-edited Armen is back. Nick did a terrific of co-hosting this ep, somehow Armen became the guest.

EPISODE 22 - U2 Talk 2 U
OrigamiMami replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
Way back when I was a little boy, hoping to one day become a big boy, all the while listening to U2 Boy, no way would I think 34 years later that I would listen to two lovable lads from Hollywood interview U2. Nope, it wasn't on my mind 34 years ago, and yet it happened anyway. You can't call me Nostradamus, I'm more like Nope-radamus. No t-shirts, no "my wiiiiife", but I was expecting Scott (not Scott), to ask the band if they had a favorite note. Or ask The Edge, "hey Thedge, if you were stuck on an island with only one string on your guitar, what string would you want that to be?" But seriously, last year podcasts were invented with Cereal, this year Maron interviews the POTUS, and to top it all Scott2 interview U2. The circle of life is complete. Now, if I could just stop smiling. -

WISHES FOR JASON MANTZOUKAS AND SCOTT AUKERMAN
OrigamiMami replied to SeanBeaumont's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I would like that we would get in a time machine, and return to my childhood. For a month Heynong-zouks would take piano lessons, and my father would stand behind him saying things like: You are not practicing enough. I can't believe I spend this much on lessons, and you never improve. This better not be like the last recital. How did you grow a full beard by the age of twelve? -

Oh Armen. Schindler's List and A League of Their Own, had the same ending. All the pieces for a grand slam home run joke are right there, and Armen bunted. Come on man, I'm rooting for you, crush that ball! [smiley face emoticon]

Mom? Dad? Are you doing this because of me? Did I do something bad? I'll be good. I promise. I'm so sad, like all the other kids whose daddy ran off with a new podcast network they met on the internet.

Episode 1622 - Lauren Ash

When Jimmy started talking about his Snuggbud earbuds failing, I just wanted to scream. Before larger running events you'll have a packet pick-up, and sometimes running related vendors will sell their wares. That's where I picked up my Snuggbuds, the day before a half-marathon. They were pricey, and fully expected that I would have to toss them out during the race. Nope. They worked great, my race was miserable, but the Snuggbuds worked great. I ordered a second pair. One for running, one for work. Within a couple months both pairs were dead. I started looking at amazon reviews and customer reviews on the Snuggbud website. There were quite a few complaints about the shoddy cables. Since that time, Snuggbuds has eliminated the customer review/testimonials feature from their website. Felt like I need to tell Jimmy not to bother with the warranty process with that company, since the product isn't worth the hassle. Paul was a great guest. It seems like this recent crop of SNL folks is really off the radar, so it's good that Jimmy had him on. -

SHOW! Was that Jane's Addiction I heard throughout? It's like I'm getting a sign. Yesterday I listened to Henry Rollins' podcast, and he talked a lot about Perry Farrell, and Lollapalooza. (I'm old, Rollins, Perry Farrell, and Lollapalooza are things old people know about) (and I saw Jane's Addiction at the original 9:30 Club in DC, when they lost the Hard Rock Grammy to Jethro Tull) I'm old and have arthritis. -

Ok, I heard three cellphone pings in that episode, there may have been more. New game. -
I recall the Parks ep, where they ask her character what she's up to, and she replies, "I'm writing a book about my blog." So many gems in that show.

Episode 1619 - Anthony Jeselnik
OrigamiMami replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
He was in town (Tampa Bay) last year, Cameron Esposito opened for him. They did a great job. This has nothing to do with the podcast, but Anthony goes through his jokes, tries out a couple new jokes, and then asks the crowd if there was something that they would like him to do. A drunk halfway back yells out, "kill another baby." Anthony turned to his side, mumbled into the mic, "kill another baby," and waited for somebody else to yell something else out. I was only two rows back, and for the brief moment that he mumbled "kill another baby," I could read the forlorn look on his face to mean "I can't believe THIS is my fan base." (I'm probably totally wrong on that, he was probably just wondering what quick bit he could perform for us.) I felt bad for him, his comedy has painted him into a narrow crowd demographic. He's entertaining, and I would see him again if he came to town. -

Apologies for the bump, forgot I had created this thread. Here we are in the middle of Jun, and still no recognition. I do have a plan if one day somebody pulls up to me, decloaks themselves as an earwolf listener, and I'll yell back at them "BONOBOS!" (I'm on a motorcycle, so safety & brevity are important.) I also use UTU2TM as an identifier elsewhere. Had thousands of interactions, and still no recognition. Maybe people see the first few letters, and think it's a Utah thing.
