  1. This was my ten:

    259 Charlotte's Website

    260 Tiny Cheeseburger Story

    261 Love Agape

    272 Sex Party Season

    280 DuALity

    305 CattleLickItUp

    306 Project Funway

    312 Grounded Me@

    317 Tash.2

    320 Charging Kids

This was really hard. Wanted to include Solo Bolo, LIVE from RIOT LA, In the Larp Run, Return to Suicide House, The 2013 Holiday Spectacular, the two Wompler episodes, Calvins Twins, and the Fifth Anniversary Special. But I am one man, and I get 10 votes.

Standout moments from episodes I didn't vote for and want to mention now: Victor's podcast, Neil Campbell's character on In the Larp Run.

  2. The other day I was re-listening to an episode and thought it'd be fun if Scott and Scott discussed something like Zooropa role playing as themselves at the age right when it came out. Then I realized that this idea is probably ridiculous, unsustainable, way too high concept, and not even good.

I'm super eager for the U2 tour to start because they will then have be able to create that from-the-concert podcast.

Also, totally into them just sitting down with any comedian and talking U2 with them. Like Howard Kremer.

Also up for the Naomi and Kulap special, if that can ever happen.

What about a Christmas episode? Discuss "It's Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" and any of their numerous live Christmas song performances? I'm also still wondering what happened on the walk home from the record store that Christmas Scott bought "The Unforgettable Fire."

The Scotts must be crazy busy right now. But I hope to hear one of these soon!

  3. I don't want to give up on Riddle Me This! I even just want to hear it done really well one more time. It's kind of fun to watch it crash and burn, too, but when approached properly (like the first few times it was done), it can be a riot.

I guess the question is how to communicate to the guests that the game can have no energy or room for growth if everyone immediately goes to a long, rambly non sequitur.

It's got a great theme song, too!

  4. The moment Juan's detailed description of high school year book club policy began, the way everyone in the room just shut down and got bored/irritated was pretty amazing. I wonder if Juan stayed a big fan.

This whole ep is CBB gold. The stuff of legend. Only got turned onto the show last year, and I'm loving going back and slowly catching up on these. I love the show in all its incarnations, but the ones where a crew like Harris, Sarah, and Benny Schwazz can all just bullshit with each other for an hour are among my favorites.

  5. Brendon Small becoming a semi-regular is the best thing that could've happened to this podcast, and the show didn't need anything particularly great to happen to it at this point to keep it amazing.

And Alex was right on it right from the beginning. This episode was delightful.

  6. I feel like such a child every time it happens, but The Monster Fuck never fails to work on me. The incredible, confident coarseness Nick Wiger brings to each line is a marvel.

How is that the only character Wiger has ever done on the show?

(I'm also a giant sucker for people delighting in really strained, bad Halloween puns--and especially Scott's 1000% horrified overreaction)

Yeah that was awful, though a part of me thinks that he was just trying to piss the commenters off. Also, Coldplay literally recorded XY with U2 posters strewn about the studio walls for inspiration.

I thought that might be more about how their model of stardom works than specifically their music?

    Though I'm not sure.

Of all these bands, I'm actually most invested in U2 (thanks to the podcast!), so the offense just goes over my head.

  8. This was just a magical combination of players today. Everyone seemed to be grooving on almost exactly the same wavelength. Lyonne is a great fit, and Mary Holland brought so much energy and delight, it was wonderful.

PFT basically playing sidekick for a newcomer interview is a formula I certainly wouldn't mind seeing again.

    Also, fuck Aug. Oct forever.

  9. Rick Faber is the funniest concept for a character I think I've ever heard and Campbell knocked it out of the fucking park. That was great.

Dane Cook's initial seg' wasn't what I normally expect, but I've actually really enjoyed the times recently when the bits before the character(s) show(s) up and introduces a world of insanity isn't necessarily wall-to-wall yes-anding bits. It was quite different in tone, but the Adomian/Glass thing this summer was a highlight.

It seemed like Scott was genuinely interested in hearing Cook answer those quests, and if there's one thing CBB shoul ddo, it's just follow the whims and interests of Au[c]k[l][a/erma]n[d].
