Oh I disagree! I thought he was fantastic in that part! Maybe I think it's because they had a lot of possible plots going on at once to throw us all off the scent of what was really happening which could be frustrating but I rather liked it. My biggest complaint is (SERIOUSLY THE BIGGEST SPOILER UNDER THE CUT SO DON'T CLICK IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT)

I didn't want to ruin anything cause I figured I was the only one who saw it Thursday night lol BUT IT'S AMAZING AND I LOVED IT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TWO PARTS THAT I REALLY HATE BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS SO FUN AND SILLY IN ALL THE RIGHT WAYS AND ALL FOUR OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS ARE PRECIOUS AND I LOVE THEM Also I saw a screening of Moana last night and it is, in my opinion, the best animated movie Disney has released in over 5 years! It's fucking brilliant in every possible way! (PS: the first ten minutes of Up make me sob uncontrollably)

When all y'all were talking about scenes in movies that you cry at every time, I was gonna come in and say that's mine. That fuckin' scene in Titanic where they just show her reading to her children and that old couple, all accepting their fate on that ship. God dammit I can't deal with it.

True story (that I may have mentioned here already) but the last caretaker with the twin girls who murdered his whole family was based on my uncle's boss when he worked at this diner in Estes Park. He grew up there and so of course when The Shining came out it was a big deal to the town that the Stanley Hotel was his inspiration. He told me that the guy was fucking insane and actually kind of scared Stephen King. Then when the book came out he went around the town basically bragging about he was the inspiration for that character (THE ONE THAT MURDERS HIS ENTIRE FAMILY). Also I'm still blaming Shelly Duvall's characterization on the fact that Kubrick was incredibly abusive to her that entire shoot in order to get her to be more hysterical. Not okay.

I still take his opinion with a grain of salt because of how much he hated The Shining when I consider that to be one of the greatest movies of all time. Granted I have not read the book so I guess I can't really properly argue that case.

I completely agree with all of this! I had no idea that this was even in the movie and then hearing Hayes say that the director didn't even consider that rape made me go full Jason and say, "Oh fuuuuuuck youuuuuuu." So I'm happy that they had even mentioned it. And I liked that they all were in 100% agreement that it was without a doubt rape, because there's been way too many people in this country as of late trying to convince women otherwise.

I really really want to rewatch Moulin Rouge now. RE: Ghost in the Shell - FUCK THAT SHIT. I also was never really a fan of the original (if I remember correctly they aired it way too late for me to ever catch it on Adult Swim/Tsunami) but my ex was a huge fan and would make me watch clips of it. So it always seemed interesting and like something I would enjoy if I just actually sat down and consumed it. But fuck this movie. Their reasoning for casting ScarJo was purely for commercial reasons and they fully admit it. I consider that to be bull shit. There doesn't appear to be a single Asian woman in that entire trailer other than a glimpse of what presumably is a stripper. So fucking awesome. I hope that movie tanks and hard.

Re: GotG - I had the same thoughts as you about Hooked on a Feeling but I have this feeling (joke kind of intended) that James Gunn is trying to keep more of the second soundtrack a secret? Idk but it did give me that same sense that Star Trek Beyond did by reusing Sabotage like, "Hey guys remember how much you loved the first move!? Right!? Right??!!!??" Except I have more faith in GotG 2.
