That is a very good point. I heard James Gunn say that he actually refused to see Chris Pratt's audition because he thought he was too fat to play Peter, but then he was forced to and was blown away. So Chris was hired and then lost all the weight. It's definitely just frustrating all around to see so much focus still be on people's bodies. HA! Omg that was a good laugh, thank you! That's exactly what I mean! Ben Affleck does not get torn apart for his physical appearance but rather can he bring the acting chops. I would actually love to instead talk about whether Gal has the acting abilities to pull this off because can we count FatF as these big acting tests? And I have unfortunately already seen and heard stuff about how Brie Larson doesn't look right so it's not like the fact that she just won an Oscar is saving her from any kind of bs. I'm sure it's all just reactionary and not logical thinking because people on tumblr and twitter are really trigger happy with their posts lol. I do believe it about Constantine, though. I feel like Keanu is one of the few men that gets shit on for everything, including looks. I can also see her point and inherently I'm not saying y'all are wrong. Mine is that while it would have been fantastic if a woman with an athletic muscular build had been cast, Gal was instead and focusing on her body and her looks makes me uncomfortable.

Believe me I definitely understand the frustrations of everyone that is cast being skinny and beautiful. But in objecting the casting of Gal based on her physical features it does appear to be tearing down the way Diana looks now because Gal is portraying her. In all honesty, Gal Gadot wasn't my first choice either, just like Brie Larson really wasn't my first choice for Carol Danvers. It's just something I never really see when men are cast into roles about how they physically don't meet the standards. I never heard anyone say that Ben Affleck was too small to play Batman, which he clearly worked out for the role anyway, but it just wasn't talked about. Everything I heard was about his acting skills and that's what's really important. ETA: Also, I didn't mean to come at you in a argumentative way.

Oh I have way too many things on my wall that consists of art, fanart purchased at cons, magazines photos that are stunning, and movie posters. That's why I have to be so snobby about my purchases now, just cause I'm in over my head as it is lol. I think for me it would look great next to this Dark Knight poster of mine. I haven't even hung the Black Widow or Hawkeye posters yet. I think I'm starting to hit that adult age where I actually want to frame my posters instead of taping them to the wall. It's a weird feeling.

I'm legit buying this poster to hang on my wall now. I'm so picky with my actual movie poster purchases (despite my feelings about AoU I do own the character posters for Black Widow and Hawkeye) and this one is definitely coming home with me.

Lights Out fucked me over this weekend. I'm angry.

In all fairness I wrote that post before I finished the episode, cause I generally love his comedy and his crazy blunt personality, but he was a lot quieter than I had expected him to be. He did say at one point that he was always on a lot of drugs so I'm gonna go ahead and assume that he was crazy high that night, coupled with the fact that he really hated this movie. Plus he could have been reading the room and saw how in the moment Jason and June were because they were legit on top of it in this episode. I don't think they've bounced that much off each other in a long time lol.

I didn't watch the movie this week so this is my correction, I guess? I just feel bad for the LA Podfest, which has been around for 5 years now, has had tons of huge podcasts (like WTF, Thrilling Adventure Hour, & DLM), and they can't even get recognized as the actual first podcast festival. This isn't a correction for Paul cause he said that he knew of, but I guess for the people writing the copy claiming that they are the first. Sorry... you're not.

I believe Kevin Conroy is the definitive Batman. I loved The Dark Knight trilogy and I really enjoyed Batffleck but I have to agree that none of them are my batman. At least not like Conroy. And while I understand why this movie could blow Wonder Woman for us, I still really have hope for it. Mostly since Zack Snyder doesn't actually have a hand in the writing or the directing, and sweet babies it's finally be given to a female director. Then again it's DC and their history leads me to be more of a realist and say it'll probably be shit too. I digress but speaking who is our definitive "actor" in a role, I am 100% sick and fucking tired of Jared Leto as Joker and the damn movie hasn't even come out yet. He keeps going on and on about how the role is bringing darkness into his head and in order to channel that he leaves used condoms around set and harasses his coworkers when they're not even filming? That's some shit to the bull right there. Heath Ledger didn't harass anyone on set and even though he was "method" acting he was still reportedly the nicest guy around and would hang out with everyone without acting like a complete tool. Not to mention that Mark Hamill has been the Joker for 20 years now and hasn't let any kind of darkness effect anything in life at all. tl;dr but basically fuck Jared Leto he will never be my Joker. /rant over

I genuinely didn't understand what the big deal about that really was... Maybe I'm just a horrible human being but legit he was saying to the world that these people were horrible and were caught by the Bat and what happens after that is on the people who act on those things. I don't believe this is the same as Superman running into a village full of innocent civilians or having buildings fall on top of thousands of people in Metropolis...

I don't want to get your hopes up crazy high, because even though I loved it unconditionally I still recognize that there are some things that could have been improved on. I especially don't want to do what you had feared with Hamilton and kill it for you before you even get the chance to watch it. But even with all that I walked out of that theater with a huge damn smile on my face, a huge ass mega crush on Kate McKinnon, and watching as three little girls (dressed up as Ghostbusters) excitedly talked and talked and talked to their parents about the references to the original and about how excited they were for the next one.

I wish we could like posts multiple times! AND WE COULD LIKE AVATARS BECAUSE I LOOOVE YOURS!!! Gurl I definitely felt my eyes well up during that exact scene.
