There are so many things I want to say about this comment but I'll just stick to this... He says something (and I don't have the exact quote) to Gayle like "We're gonna be working together for a while. Why rush it." -

Yes!!! I think that was really gonna be my main "this week in feminism" post but honestly June did a beautiful job covering it with that one statement! -

I missed this post originally but I might have an answer for this moment as well. Gayle liked Jason pretty immediately and he told her he wouldn't even go on a date with her because that was basically moving too fast. Jessie comes up and naively tells her she slept in his bed and Gayle makes this assumption so she's like, "THIS FUCKIN GUY WHAT AN ASSHOLE," and then just out of curiosity asks how the sex was. Cause gosh that could have been her dammit! She even says, "If you don't mind my asking," which is a pretty respectable way of starting that kind of conversation lol. -

I thought that when Hollywood told him the story he included the part about a lover breaking the curse. And, as Disney would have us believe, a kiss from your one true love does the trick. So I watched that not thinking he was a creep, but just testing the curse to see if it would bring her back if she was in fact real. -

Off topic and bringing up a Mini-Thread discussion but someone in my office just talked about Pokemon as the new "zeitgeist" that people will get tired of and he has definitely used it before this during discussion of other topics. I think that's officially the word/phrase that I can no longer stand because the person is just trying to make themselves seem above whatever the topic is. We get it, you hipster, you don't enjoy popular things. -

Just to comment on Hollywood - I don't think it's him that's offensive to LGBTQ people. I think it's how everyone else responds to him that's offensive. In the first movie the security guard calls him names and imitates his voice while talking to Andrew McCarthy and he just flat out says, "Oh I'm sure it'll be better than working with a bigot," which made me go "YAS! DRAG HIM!" But throughout both movies he gets called "pansy" "fairy" etc etc and that makes me cringe every single time. There are fem gay men, and there are certainly over the top gay men in real life. I loved Steve mentioning Tituss from Kimmy Schmidt because he's the modern version of what I assume Hollywood to be and I think it's still very important for this to be represented. I can definitely see why the gang thought this was presented as a caricature of gay men considering the time this came out, but I didn't actually take it that way. Especially since the heroes of these movies came to his defense and were really close to him! I love Hollywood! He's definitely my favorite part of these movies! -

Actually this isn't true. He knew it was a mannequin, but everyone was freaking out so much that he said he would save her. Then when he was in the water he thought she was alive because of the necklace moving and making her come to life for that brief moment. -

Unfortunately, events out here took my attention for the night. I'll attempt to watch it tomorrow, but this week isn't looking to be in my favor. -

I'm sure this comes as absolutely no surprise but any sentence that starts with, "Well, actually..." makes me want to go punch a child. And I'm slowly starting to despise the word "nuance." -

Wait did you not get that question!? It asked what do you call a place where you can drive through and pick up alcohol! I've only actually seen 1 in my area but then it closed, but I've heard that Louisiana is rampant with these places. -

I disagree with that. Cause at least in my town we call them cougars and apparently that's a Pacific Northwest thing? I'd go with the "beer barn, brew thru, etc" question as the kicker. -
