Funny cause years ago I switched over to 91.7 and I still get confused and accidentally switch the numbers all the time. Both are great stations but I prefer KXT because of the variety of good music they play plus their local artist support. But I'm really with you in that I kinda stopped listening to the radio completely and just have my iphone plugged in whenever I'm driving. Never get tired of going from Beastie Boys to Beyonce to Hamilton to Alabama Shakes.

Here's a question. Since they are also doing Can't Stop the Music, why haven't they done more Steve Guttenberg movies?

I fuckin' am talking about The Edge! I do remember when they were 94.5 because I think after the switch that became country and I was like W H A T when my mom had turned the radio on. They're kinda back to playing exclusively current music unless Jessie is the DJ because she'll play all the actual good current music mixed in with the all-time faves from the past and it's always a super good mix of music. Otherwise it's a ton of Imagine Dragons, The 1975, Twenty One Pilots, and a bunch of other stuff that I never really consider "alternative rock." I think since they are owned by the same lurking radio management as Kiss FM then they were kinda forced to deviate from their core. What I remember about 102.1 in 2006 is they also supported local artists a looot more. It was how I found out about my favorite band that's from East Texas back in '05. (Actually despite the Nickelback I think the 2006 songs they played were actually rather good now that I really sit and think about what was on). All these non-Texans can deal with our Texas talk since we don't get that Massachusetts shit lol.

Honestly I kinda felt the same way, but this is why I'm purely sticking to the "I thought they were cute when I was also a kid and now as an adult I find them attractive as an adult as well" formula and staying clear of being mean and icky lol. Which is why Rider Strong, Natalie Portman, and the entire Harry Potter cast makes that list for me. We didn't even make it 24 hours. Definitely the fastest we've deviated from the topic.

Okay so I was 16 and in my junior year of high school when this came out so I can confidently say this movie was made for me and my group of friends. Not because of anything substantial but because the guys were hot and there was a supernatural element to it. Briefly, in the mini-thread, I mentioned that the music used was still extremely relevant too, and I'm genuinely not joking about that statement. At least here in North Texas the song they used in the trailer is still played on the "alternative rock" station occasionally, and it was played even more so 10 years ago. I think this movie literally comes down to the physical eye candy element of it all. The guys all look good and the girls all look good and there is magic, y'all. Renny clearly didn't think beyond that and I wonder if I had actually seen this when I was 16 instead of when I saw it at 22 how I would have reacted. Because my gut feeling is that I would have eaten it the fuck up like a lot of those 5 star reviews on Amazon and iTunes. Purely based on the fact that I 100% ate Queen of the Damned up like it was a golden piece of vampire cinema (don't worry I know it's not and I'm really hoping they do that movie soon). But I remember my friends seeing this in high school and non-stop talking it up, but it was never a conversation like, "Oh this is a really amazing movie and you should see it," but rather, "Steven Strait is incredibly hot and this movie highlights all of that goodness." None of us cared what the characters were actually saying or doing. Everyone just wanted to look at him. Oh and this was Steven coming off of Sky High which to this day I believe is one of the best superhero movies ever and I will fight anyone who tells me otherwise. So I think that also grabbed my generation really hard.

Okay on the subject of child actors that got hot I can't believe y'all were talking about Harry Potter and didn't list THE ENTIRE CAST! Seriously like they were the same age as me growing up so I literally always thought they were cute and then BAM literally every person that had speaking lines must have actually been witches and wizards because they are all super hot. I know PlanB mentioned Natalie Portman but let's be real she really did stay good looking. I don't think she once ever had an awkward stage. Also Rider Strong. That guy took all of Ben Savage's looks growing up because he stayed just as good looking forever.

While I agree with you that this movie is a needless farce of a film, I have to say I think they actually timed the release rather brilliantly. If they had released it among the other millions of zombie films that had come out back to back this may have gotten even more tossed to the side than it already has. This way, other than The Walking Dead, they are the most talked about zombie property again. On the other hand, if they had struck while the iron was hot off the publication of the "book" (I hate even calling it that considering I can feel Jane Austen spinning in her grave) then maybe the masses would have flocked to it the way they did with 50 Shades of Grey. Mr. Darcy was always a total dick until he started letting his barriers down and showed his true kindness. I haven't seen this movie but they must have re-written his character so that ~millennials~ could understand how he acted. This whole concept infuriates me and I can't believe that guy made so much money off of ruining one of my favorite books. What infuriates me even more is that even in the trailer they have to show a "sexy getting ready scene" in the god damn regency era.

I never get tired of that list! I love the irony behind so many of them like you can't be young OR old, you can't be poor OR rich, and you can't have a lot of children OR no children.

I knew as soon as I posted that image that I was probably opening some phobia floodgates because I know a lot of people in real life who are also afraid of snakes. Oh I totally remembered Prue doing that! It wasn't something she could do at first and I definitely remember it not being as cool as Paige's orbing.

I also went through a wanting to be a witch phase because of Charmed and Sabrina! I was more of a fan of Prue's powers than Piper's. Probably because I just wanted to move shit with my mind. Phoebe did kinda get the raw end of the power stick though.

As someone who was completely in the demographic for this piece of shit when it came out I can tell you that that song was still in the zeitgeist for "punk/emo/goth" kids from 03-07.

That's how it appeared to me so that's what I commented on. Paul asked her to elaborate on her opinion and she did. So to an outside party it would appear you were just attacking her for stating said opinion because it happens to differ from your own. My only problem with your post was that you called her an asshole and honestly I'm still not sure why you did because nothing of what you wrote seemed to have been given off during those 30 seconds. I wasn't trying to make it any kind of gender comment it was just how it came out. Deanna is in fact a woman and you did call her an asshole. In my mind my phrasing was more to emphasize the fact that you called a human an asshole for their taste in media. I am not a fan of reality tv either and understand all of your points about it but there was just so much anger behind your statement that prompted me to respond to you. It does kind of boil down to that's how she likes to spend her free time. Angela Bassett just said on The Nerdist podcast today that she loves watching trash tv because it helps her tune out and she doesn't have to spend anymore brain energy when she just spent so much acting her ass off. How can we assume that Deanna is not the same way? She works her ass off in this industry and maybe just wants to turn her brain off when she's actually consuming stuff.
