Speaking of challenges I highly recommend that while completing the DLM challenge that you work in the 52 films by women. I'm find that easier to complete than any other film challenge and it's a great way to support female directors!

Now that FISTER ROBOTO pointed out that he was actually offered Diane's role I think we need to fix this.

He's definitely one of those guys I would have not talk and just be hot. And sing to me. He has an amazing voice so he can sing to me. I have to put in my two cents on ScarJo because I find her veerrrryyyy attractive. Like she is in my top 3 ladies attractive. Her and Hayley Atwell and Jennifer Lawrence. I don't know what that makes my type as but it's those three. Also Chris Evans is like... otherworldly. I found him very attractive until my cousin lost a bunch of weight and he suddenly started looking like him and I couldn't see Chris the same way anymore. But yes I think the consensus is that Chris Evans is like a fuckin' god all around. (Except with his choice of producing movies because Playing It Cool was one of the worst things I've ever seen).

Are we saying people we like that others don't or people we don't find attractive that others do? Cause I may have answers for both! As far as people who are considered widely attractive that I just don't really understand (it only seems fair to give two answers) it's Channing Tatum and Eva Mendes. I just wouldn't put either on my list at all. And when it comes to someone I find crazy attractive that people have told me they don't get is Jeremy Renner, which I actually find pretty crazy, but I think it's clear that the girls watching Avengers aren't supposed to be drawn to Hawkeye like I am. I still argue that Hook holds up. I just saw it recently and all the jokes still land and it's still extremely heartfelt and well acted. People who hate it are just wrong! For my movie this is gonna show my age but I have to go with Josie and the Pussycats. Someone made a thread for it in the recommendations forum and Shannon and I argued that it was perfect and doesn't meet the criteria but I have a feeling if I showed it to someone now who had never seen it before then they wouldn't get the perfection of the satire. Plus, in my opinion, that music still holds the fuck up cause it still plays on my itunes shuffle.

I have to agree with both of y'all on this matter. It almost feels like we have to read it before submitting any corrections and omissions because the gang won't actually talk about things that Blake has written about in his articles. So if we choose not to read them and think they missed something then we're the dumb ones for not doing all of the homework before commenting. At least that's just how I feel about it.

Y'all Paul is on Doug Loves Movies today and fuckin is already killin it by fighting Jacob Sirof on his awful notions about Star Wars and the Prequels being legitimately good Star Wars Films. Spoiler alert Jacob thinks TFA is worse and is just "fanfiction."

I think the "best" awards shows are just showing how little the people involved actually pay attention to all the great stuff out there. I, as well, am overjoyed that Mad Max is getting the recognition it deserves! But I'm very saddened by the absence of Straight Outta Compton (and specifically Jason Mitchell) in almost every single category plus the absences of Paul Dano, Idris Elba, and Michael B. Jordan in their stunning performances this year. Oh and Carol not getting nominated for Best Picture! The Academy and Hollywood love to talk about how they want to give awards out to the true talent but you are so right, it just seems to go to the same 5 people every damn year. And also to immediately contradict myself I would love to see Brie Larson take Best Actress! I've been a fan of hers for years and am so happy to her get recognition as well! I just hope that it doesn't spark the same thing in her that it did in Jennifer Lawrence and she gets stuck in a bunch of one note roles with a hack director (can y'all tell I really didn't like Joy?).

Like? I genuinely think the ones that were nominated are considered the worst of the worst to come out this year. Except Jupiter Ascending because I have to agree with Lando that was a really fun watch and not as bad as some of the previous Wachowski vehicles.

Razzies, sorry. It seems like every year they pick one specific movie to sweep the awards with because they want to really take those people down a peg (After Earth, Movie 43, etc etc.)

Or the alternate title to the 50 Shades of Black parody.

I hadn't ever seen this until a couple of years ago and I quite enjoyed it. I can definitely see why people think it's the worst and I can see why people think it's the best. It's bat shit insane! But I just don't think it's a good candidate for this podcast. If you think about what this pitch was then it really makes sense how this got made.

Not to mention he's just a terrific actor! That just really surprises me but also I shouldn't be considering the kind of people I've seen at cons.

What does everyone think that they're gonna pick apart this year? My gut is leaning towards 50 Shades or Pixels because of obvious reasons, but my coworker thinks they might go with a ton of Fantastic Four.

This is why it's so hard for me to take most critics seriously (with any kind of media). I've seen way too many people give things that are great bad reviews just because it makes them seem hip and cool. And then a few vice versa because they like to make all the negative reviews seem overly negative and they're really the shining beacon of light. Art is subjective and therefore can truly only be reviewed by you for yourself. Now with that being said lol did you notice any sound issues with The Revenant? The most complaints that I've heard is that the sound mixing is terrible and some of the adr just screams last minute addition. I haven't seen it yet but I've actually never really been a fan of the music/sound mixing in Inarritu's films so it doesn't surprise me that this one would have the same complaints.
