Those parents should lose their parenting rights cause that's doing it so wrong! I wanted to add really quick that I do think theorizing is totally fun and I don't want to seem like I'm going, "I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT SO NO ONE ELSE SHOULD EITHER!" Cause that's just pushy and rude lol. With the shipping stuff I'm certain there were totally people who shipped Han and Luke just as much. The whole slash fiction thing started with Kirk and Spock in TOS and that was well before Star Wars had come out. But also I believe that Finn and Poe had more romantic chemistry together in those few scenes but that's just me lol.

Oh man I actually did forget to talk about that! It was so weird not only because he was blinking but the eye lids were sideways! So are they trying to tell us that C3PO would have alien like eyes if he could in fact blink? He's a damn robot built by humans those animators must seriously have been just drugged out of their minds to think that was something so worthwhile. Also, speaking of the animation, I'm really happy they mentioned briefly that Han's face was just the worst thing to look at, but I find it kind of upsetting that Boba Fett was talking the whole time. Yeah this was his first introduction so the whole silent thing really wasn't a factor (actually had to be reminded of that by my mother when I complained about this at Christmas) but damn I really didn't like that. It would have been hilarious for a silent type and a wookie to have an adventure. So then just like the rest of the whole special no one would have had a clue what was going on.

For me personally when it comes to this topic, and it's the reason why I didn't participate in any theorizing here before TFA came out, it's because I like to go into Star Wars completely blind. It's how I watched them as a kid and there wasn't my cousins sitting next to me telling me before I saw Empire Strikes Back that they believed that Darth Vader is actually Luke's dad. They didn't know anymore than I did but it would have definitely not been as groundbreaking even in my little mind as it was if I went in thinking that was already a possibility. Of course I have my own theories about things, but with this new internet age everyone starts to think that they must get out everything they think about a movie all the time. And while it is totally fun to discuss things you think about with your friends (which I totally did as we walked back to our cars after seeing it opening night and it's always fun discussing things with y'all here) for some reason hearing every single theory out there just kinda ruins the experience for me. I just don't want too much clouding my perception of the films before I go in to them. Plus if I see a theory I really like (like all the shipping stuff) and it doesn't happen of course I'm gonna be disappointed because expectations always lead to some kind of disappointment. It's just inevitable and I really don't want to be disappointed by one of the first things I was ever obsessed with in my life. There's a good chance that none of this makes any sense at all, but basically the tl;dr version is that sometimes theories lead to expectations and expectations lead to disappointment and no thank you on that front lol.

But she did show gratitude! She was very thankful and said that no one had brought her anything before! And we don't know what really happened after that scene ended, cause he was definitely still there. Clearly it didn't matter how much gratitude she showed that dude was gonna hide under the bar for her like a total creep anyway lol.

Okay everyone has been talking about the cooking segment but no one has mentioned how Harvey Korman was in black face! I mean yes this was a product of it's time and that was something that the media still hadn't realized was not okay but it definitely shouldn't be passed over today like that was nothing. That was sooooo not nothing and really shocked me when he appeared on screen. They talked about how most of these segments had zero jokes in them but I honestly think the entire joke for that segment was that he was dressed as a black woman. :/

Yeah that's what would have made the movie weird lol.

I can't believe I actually made it through this whole thing in one sitting. Probably being on my phone and looking up more interesting Star Wars trivia (about this and the universe as whole) helped get through the long ass Wookie scenes where I had no fucking clue what was happening. I genuinely thought after the first ten minutes it was just gonna be an hour and a half of Wookie's arguing!

I was actually going to link to this exact video because that is also my least favorite Christmas song! Thank the lord for Casey and Scott pointing out how damn creepy it really is. Except I keep seeing people defend it saying shit like, "In the time it was written it was unacceptable for a woman to say yes to her suitor even if she wanted to so the whole song is a wink that she is still being 'proper' while wanting to give in to her actual desire to be with this man. Therefore this is not about rape," and just NO! That still gives an implication that when a woman is saying no what she really means is yes because it's not proper for her give in to what she really wants. It's still rapey. /endrant

This is a joy that I've never been able to experience before and I'm now considering forcing my family to watch it on Christmas because...why not?

I just saw it for a second time last night and am still head over heels in love with it!!! Completely shattered any reserves I had! I took my mom to see it and she is an actual OG Star Wars fan (literally saw all three of the originals on opening day back when they came out and still has a scrapbook of all the stuff she accumulated over the years that she made when she was 13) and she really liked it but thought Also by Cameron's age statement I would say waiting probably is a good idea. There was a kid in my theater yesterday who didn't look any older than 4 and she was completely distracted until she just flat out fell asleep lol.

Okay I'm officially changing my title again because STAR WARS!!!!!!!! So theorize away all you people who haven't seen it yet, because I got that shit under my belt and I am the happiest.

I think they've also said a lot of comedies that fans want them to do have their friends in them (like Lauren as you mentioned above) and they don't want to offend anyone by publicly making fun of their work. Now Lauren does seem like the kind of person that could make fun of something she was in which could be fun but there may be others in that movie that they know that could not take this well. But you're right it was in the Winter's Tale episode and that's still one of the best parts of it lol. I think if they were to do any Sandler film it would probably be The Cobbler, because... why was this made. We know how and really who the fuck cares it's more just like... why!?
