They get my favorite line in the whole movie! So he really (in my opinion) had already made this decision during the Christmas Present portion of the story but they really just needed to hammer home how little people cared about him by showing him what would happen after he and Tiny Tim passed away. And when Future takes him to his own grave it's like "oh shit I'm the one that dies and literally no one cares."

I think you'll really love Get Out then because it's not a typical horror movie but just as you said what Babadook uses for their fear Get Out uses racism and it's really stunning. Jordan Peele fuckin' knocked it out of the park!

Oh Honorable Mention (but I still don't think it quite cracks the list) for I Don't Feel At Home in this World Anymore cause I just saw it and it was GREAT!

Omg this is like my high school days coming back in full force! We had to perform the final song from SA1 my junior year and then my senior year we watched SA2 during a slow day and my friend group and I became obsessed with Lauryn Hill (not like we weren't already in love with her but specifically her in this movie cause she is amazing).

Paper Towns wasn't that bad but she's honestly in it for maybe a combined 15-20 minutes. Also this reminds me that I got into a twitter argument with James Gunn cause he was going on about how people should get tons of experience in Hollywood if they want to land the kind of jobs they want (not entirely wrong) but I pointed out that a lot of famous actors and actresses hit it big pretty immediately and his entire fan base attacked me for daring to disagree with him lmao. I only mention it now because Cara is a perfect example of this. She's a gorgeous model but did she have anything that let people think she would have been a good actress? No because even IMDB lists that she had no formal acting training / coaching before she was cast in Anna Karenina but she was already getting big in the fashion industry and probably knew all the right people / had good auditions and boom now she's a famous actress. That's how that fuckin' town works.

I didn't mind the "We Saw Your Boobs" song because it was played as it was supposed to be bad and that made it more self-aware for me and easier to throw away as just a bad part of a bad bit. Although the sock puppet Flight re-enactment saved that whole thing in my opinion.

Omg yeah I think so! It's the longest interview I've ever heard Marc do cause they were just so in the thick of a big conversation about James's life and making The Disaster Artist that literally things didn't even seem long until the 1:45 mark and finally James was like "I have one more story but I know I need to get out of here" and Marc was like "No go ahead" so he told another 15 minute story about Tommy lmao.

I watched 20 minutes and literally couldn't continue.

I still think that it was a horrible idea to place her with James (who I now learned from his WTF interview was trying to be the straight man to her wacky comedic performance and none of it ended up working) My favorite hosts were Hugh Jackman and then Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. Those guys in my memory fuckin killed it and kinda set the tone for Anne to come and do song and dance stuff, which could have worked if she had been paired with someone who was a song and dance person.

I agree, however, while it's not taking away from regularly scheduled content I was also highly looking forward to this as Valerian is also on one of the few streaming sites I pay for (well technically my mom pays for since I'm using her HBO password lololol). When podcasts say they'll have live shows go behind the paywall I always completely understand - Jackie Kashian's The Dork Forest and James Bonding both exclusively put their live shows behind a paywall because that shit can get expensive and I wouldn't expect them to hand that out for free. But since half of the shows HDTGM does now are live it just seemed odd that they would have specifically put this one away. I get that it was probably out of their hands due to the festival and I'm honestly not trying to bring up that paywall announcement bull shit again, but it just would have been nice to have known from the get go that the Pee Cast Blast was always going to be Stitcher Premium content so that I wouldn't have gotten my hopes up.

Oh I completely agree. I guess my point was that he can seem super racist but after hearing how he took care of the black actors on set of Django and how he was very considerate of their mental state since your brain doesn't know that you're just acting when you have a bunch of white people yelling the N word at you all day then it seemed like he wasn't as racist as I thought he was. However, yes, that doesn't mean he isn't or can't be. All of us white people consistently need to better ourselves and strive to keep learning.
