It seems like it was a vicious cycle, but they mention in the movie that people are addicted to Zydrate. However, when mentioning Amber's addiction they say she's addicted to the knife, but then of course show her begging for the Zydrate. So which is it???

I LOVE THIS MOVIE! True story: Our office had two mice running around for a long while (yep) and I named the larger grey one "Rattigan" and the smaller brown one "Basil" for obvious reasons. It actually stuck within our department and I was kinda sad to see Basil go cause he was genuinely super cute.

I know we've all moved on to discussing An American Tail in a new thread but I finally found time to finish this wild ride and come discuss it. I loved Amber Sweet and I never thought I would ever say this, but honestly I wanted more Paris Hilton. There are a few things I'm still confused about. 1. No seriously why did Amber's face fall off? The surgeons couldn't even stitch her together? 2. How come her facial surgeries ended up being so amazing but her brother's (I can't remember which has which name) is stuck on by clamps? Was that his choice so that he could easily change at will? It looks fucking horrible so like why??? 3. Was it just me or at one point did it totally seem like they were going have Shilo fall for the Graverobber and try and ~make him better~ which would have been a total goth trope back then that I can see happening. 4. When Shilo first meets the Graverobber he's legit just standing up and singing while taking the shit out of the dead person's nose, but no one can see him just standing there? I mean even Shilo is doing a horrible job at hiding behind that grave stone so those "police" really should have seen them earlier. They are terrible at their jobs. 5. If people are so addicted to Zydrate then why even go through the surgeries at all? What's the point? Just get the drug and feel no pain cause there's literally no point in even going through with the rest of it if that's what you're after. 6. WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT SHILO??? No seriously her character was fucking boooorrrriiiiinnnnnggggg. It was like she was supposed to be this big heroine but she whines and complains and tells people to leave her alone or she'll get in trouble every fucking 5 minutes. I hated her. I hated Alexa Vega's singing in this. She's pointless to the story other than just being a talking plot point.

My college roommate forced me to watch this when she found out I had literally zero memory of it! We were in the photo studios and pulled out the white backdrop and turned it into a movie screen just to watch An American Tail lol.

So for Mother's Day my mom and I went on a road trip and I got her to listen to 4 episodes of HDTGM. After listening to My Stepmother is an Alien I had to make her listen to Mannequin 2 for the, "Where does the butt start???" reference. During the talk about why Barbie doesn't have nipples my mother says, "They put'er in a brar" Y'all my mom has officially become one of us.

Also simultaneous virgin shaming??? Like beautiful women HAVE to have sex y'all. It's required to have sex if you're gorgeous and from this planet. No choice just do it or you're clearly an alien!

My God, I didn't even watch this movie and I feel like I need to do a "This Week in Feminism" just on that tagline alone.

Oh yeah this entire time I've been thinking about Alexa Vega does not have the voice to support this style of music. Like I don't want to say she's a weak singer because I can hear that she does have talent there but you need a specific kind of power behind the voice to support the notes she's been given. I feel like Haley Williams of Paramore would've knocked this out. Or maybe it would work if they didn't give Alexa such low notes? Cause she seems to struggle with notes that force her to sing from her chest rather than her head. Also this music just really sucks. Sing talking isn't fun when it sounds like they're just making up notes as they go.

I mean I got to the random punk outburst of Alexa Vega singing about being 17 and I just laughed so hard and said "kay I can't handle this anymore tonight"

My computer is the only way I can watch Prime movies and I'd rather be able to actually see it! Or else I honestly would have just had it on while I did some writing and editing lol.

I am known to single handedly (that doesn't seem like the correct spelling but whatever) contribute 4 pages alone Last night didn't work out either for a movie watching night. When you're actually inspired to get some writing AND photo editing done you use your computer for that while you can lol.

I'm seriously hoping tonight will work out!

I have a feeling it'll be more like how she typically does the first Largo shows and doesn't stay for the late ones now. So since the screening may push close to midnight she may just be not up for that.

I really want to make it my goal now to get Paul to read one of my "This Week in Feminism" posts. Or better yet if June came on as a guest again and read one. That would make my day.

Happy 45th Birthday to our one and only

This is one of those movies where you really have to take into consideration that we are not the target audience. My four-year old cousin LOVES this movie and I can't hate how many times she quotes this (and the Madagascar penguin movie) just cause it's so cute coming from her.

I have a feeling that they all were very aware of how their cars were being used so I don't think anyone was mad or fired.
