I argue that society creates situations where these guys end up acting so, cause Duckie acts like a major tool for a good part of the movie as well. Except James Spader, his character is just a fuckin' tool no matter what. -

I only chose Gosling because of the love surrounding La La Land. I figured his win at the GGs was more of a Matt Damon last year kind of a situation? I'm leaning more towards Denzel now than before because I really do think the talk around the accusations really could do some damage.

But if you think about the history of psychiatric hospitals it wasn't just us deciding that they were evil. There were a looot of cases of abuse and just all around horrible things happening at Asylums up until most were shut down in the 70s and 80s! Plus when you think about how easy it was to get thrown in??? If you were dyslexic they had grounds to put you into a hospital! Of course there were serious cases where people needed a place to really go to but the fact that they were being lobotomized and beaten and left to sit in their own filth was not the way to go about that. Therefore asylum managers = evil lol- 169 replies

What's funny is that I'm still salty that Mark Ruffalo got a nomination for that movie lol. Mostly because I thought Andrew Garfield in Social Network was far superior and he didn't get the nom. UGH! But also I was on the Natalie Portman train that year. Literally all aboard that train lol.

While this entire thing is absolutely BRILLIANT and could explain a lot I still don't think Cogsworth can control the wilting of the flower. My understanding of the enchanted rose is that since she says that he has until his 21st year to find true love the rose does not start wilting until he turns 20. That's not true either. A friend of mine worked at Disneyland for a long time and got to meet Glen Keane and asked him this very question. His response was, "We never gave him a name."
