When I first watched Escape from LA I had sooo much to say about but honestly a lot of it is kind of obvious now. I feel like this movie predicted our current political climate pretty spot on and that's terrifying. So I guess I'll see all of my other moral criminal friends in LA when they deport us for whatever reason. I really really don't like how they made Hershe's character. I thought maybe, just maybe, I had missed out on this huge story from Escape from New York since I didn't see it, but it doesn't seem like that's the case. If that's so then why in the fuck did they need to change her voice and say that she used to be a man? What does that actually add to this movie? Like to not only change her voice but then to have Kurt Russell grab at her and say a gross ass comment about what is in between her legs just really left a gross taste in my mouth. Pam Grier deserved better. Transgender women deserved better. And when you think about how the movie is set up at the beginning why is Cuervo Jones (seriously wtf is that name) automatically the bad guy? Like besides dressing him up to look more like a typical anarchist terrorist what were the things that led us to believe he was the villain of this story? A bunch of people seemed to have been wrongly deported for simply not being what the "majority" of America liked and to me he seemed to be just a leader of a resistance that wanted to go against the grain. Of course then you see him murder a bunch of people for fun and really just be super in to anarchy but that was what, an hour into the film? Until that point I was kinda on his side and thought Snake should just like die because who wants to help a tyrant of a president who did away with the Constitution so that he could rule for a lifetime? And then after everything was all said and done he did exactly what Cuervo was going to do anyway! WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS MOVIE!? ANYWAY, Barry Gibb? Nah. Jimmy Fallon dressed as Barry Gibb? Sure.

I was thinking more along the lines of George of the Jungle

If I genuinely can't remember even having seen it then no. Like I know I've seen Dumbo but I can't remember a single detail nor when that happened so I don't include it. Bambi I remember seeing but I think I immediately blocked it out of my child brain so I still include it but I genuinely can't remember that movie past his mother dying lol.

I think this could also apply to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

I think he was more obsessed with The Who as a whole and therefore just really liked Tommy as an extension of that obsession. I just remember him singing Pinball Wizard a whole lot (also Boris The Spider like wtf is that song).

Omg I remember my middle school crush being obsessed with this movie so I tried to watch it and was VERY confused lol. It'll be fun to watch it now as an adult and see if I'm still as confused lol.

Finally got to listen to this episode and I think there was SO much left on the table to talk about! I need to go through all the posts I missed now to figure out what has already been said C&O wise but I really am so fucking angry that this movie severely underused Bruce Campbell. I thought his one scene was hilarious and then that was it and just NO WTF!? Also Pam Grier was flawless in this movie but I have so many issues with her character and that voice shit they did.

She's literally THE national treasure (highly recommend Tallulah on Netflix, the movie she just did with Ellen Page - it's fucking SO GOOD).

I have a ton to say about this movie but I genuinely haven't been able to listen to the episode yet lol

I completely agree with you here that compared to the amount they put in this is cheap. However, that is not the way you worded your point. I appreciate your response because now I can clearly see where you are coming from and that you understand what I was saying. There just seems to be so many people who are outraged that this is happening and people who are outraged at the outrage and then I'm over here like hey everyone has different opinions on the matter lol. I am not for or against the paywall subscription but let me stop you right there. It may be cheap for you, but it is not cheap for everyone so just stop it. America is currently in an environment where we keep having to argue why everyone deserves to make enough money to LIVE while working 40 hours a week. Let alone afford extra things like subscription services. I work in the arts industry, I am a photographer, so I am more than aware of how everyone wants to skip out on paying for work. My prices are non-negotiable yet every time I photograph a wedding people haggle with me like I'm a god damn car salesmen. No one is deciding for Earwolf what to set their prices at. Yeah some people are pissed, but fucking just let them be pissed and move along. Literally all of the other points you made are valid and I agree that people are overreacting but why are we even surprised at this point. But still the whole "It's cheap!" argument is flawed cause you don't get to decide what people can afford.

Fister, I could not like that comment more. In-N-Out is traaaash compared to Whataburger. When I went to visit my cousin and his wife in SF last year we went to In-N-Out and just complained about how it wasn't Whataburger the whole time lol.

Get ready because the stories that have been featured are even worse than I could have imagined. I haven't read her memoir or Going Clear, but I did see the HBO doc. I marathoned all of the released episodes and was emotionally draaained.

That really is an excellent point! And I bet you're 100% right! Just to reiterate my problem is not with Travolta specifically, but rather what I imagined the studios to be thinking when making that casting decision. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that you felt like he didn't fit the mold of previous Ednas. But! He really did bring life to that character and played her wonderfully! I digress but Leah Remini's Scientology show is fucking intense and amazing and I highly recommend it. I feel horrible for every single person that feels like they are trapped in that fuckin' cult.
