Where's the enthusiasm, the spunk, the integrity of the good old days? I remember when I could rant about something political and PFT himself would tell me I'm a grubby shit person, right here in the forums! Where is the magic, where is the connection, where is the foam corner? I was doing dishes and accidentally shattered my CBB pint glass about three years ago, and I feel like this place has never fully recovered.

Starring Catherine Mary Stewart (Bibi from The Apple), Kelli Maroney (Cindy from Fast Times at Ridgemont High), and Robert Beltran (Chakotay from Star Trek: Voyager), this movie is a must-see for lovers of 80's movies. There are some ridiculously stupid moments, but what campy 80's movie would be complete without those? It's actually a really enjoyable movie and I recommend it to anyone in these forums. I first heard about it listening to an old episode of Improv 4 Humans when Amy Poehler brought it up, then when I saw the trailer I knew I had to watch it and recommend it for HDTGM. Here's the trailer:

For your consideration, Meet The Applegates. http://www.imdb.com/...ay/vi2844655897 Please do this movie! I remember seeing it when I was very young and it really made an impression on me, and Ed Begley Jr. (the father, Richard P. Applegate) would make a fantastic guest. I'm genuinely surprised this hasn't already been recommended, and I really hope you'll consider it! I haven't watched it recently, but I definitely will now. It looks insane but I remember it being pretty entertaining. Also, it's by the director of Hudson Hawk.

Did anybody see Gemberling on Modern Family? I think he was great and I hope he returns, and between this and playing John Belushi in the upcoming David Wain film I really hope he becomes a household name. I hope he becomes so popular that his defense of bestiality comes back to haunt him! Then he'll know he really made it.

FANS! We need your help! What Are Your Favorite Lines From Earwolf Shows?
Darbler Cheesegarbler replied to Shannon's topic in General Earwolf
Before compiling this list, please listen to every foam corner. Twice. Now you have my answer. More quotes from various shows are forthcoming, I know there are some good Beverly quotes in my memory bank, and some of Gabrus's micro-aggressions from I4H. There are also some Spontaneanation moments that are so insane and perfect, and if some lines from June and Jason (particularly June) don't make it on the list then there's really no point in doing this at all. -
I'm confident that Alan Buchanan and Bob Ducca would get along famously, and let's face it: Bob Ducca almost definitely suffers from Wet Crotch Syndrome. I wouldn't be surprised if the two of them are related somehow.

Episode 471 - Shy By Nature, Outgoing By Nurture
Darbler Cheesegarbler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I agree completely that it has nothing to do with their performance, however the observation also had nothing to do with the fact that the guest was female. Making it all about her gender is actually far more sexist than saying something negative in the first place, which isn't necessarily sexist at all. And in any case, the vitriol from this community towards anyone who says anything negative is far worse than saying a guest's picture is annoying. I do regret saying it, as I've said, however the backlash has been overblown and in some cases just insane. I shouldn't have been surprised that someone would needlessly bring it up again when Kate Berlant is a guest, but it's times like this that some members in the community here just have me like: -

This is a perfect example of how batshit crazy some of you are. I say a guest's picture is annoying, you imply that I hate myself and I have a terrible life. I hadn't even thought of any of that again until now but it's nice to know that me, a random stranger on the internet, and my slight against a female podcast guest's picture is evidently eating away at you. Do you have a Tumblr page for fans of Kate Berlant? I'd love to join in on the fun. -
Episode 100 - A Shoe Store: Live from Largo (w/ Constance Wu, Sarah Burns, Marc Evan Jackson, Little Janet Varney)
Darbler Cheesegarbler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
The episodes are slowly but surely catching up to the present day. Personally, I hope the recordings and releases both keep their current pace and we eventually hear some monologues, intros and improv from the future. -

Paywall Special Announcement
Darbler Cheesegarbler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I'd personally much rather have tons of ads than a paywall, and I'm also hoping that the paywall doesn't prove to be profitable. I imagine they'll actually see the amount of new listeners decline rapidly, as I know when I got into the podcast the first thing I did was go back and listen to the older episodes so I could listen to the show progress. Same with Comedy Bang Bang and Improv 4 Humans; I'd go back and listen to the earliest episodes that had guests I love or otherwise sounded interesting, then I just started listening to all of them. People who aren't okay with the paywall are being called cheap and entitled, but I don't see it that way at all, I simply believe that removing the archives is a failing strategy and if they want more subscribers then they just need to keep making great content on Howl. On the other hand, this is why I think Paul is smart for fighting for what he did. Now new listeners can go back and listen to many older episodes, listen to the howdies, etc., without being forced to subscribe to a service that is still practically unusable on Android devices. -
Paywall Special Announcement
Darbler Cheesegarbler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
He might not say it here, but I believe it's extremely obvious that Paul really fought for this. I can't express how much I appreciate it, and my already very high respect for Paul just went through the roof. This was somewhat painful to listen to because I could tell, or at least I either rightly or wrongly perceived, that Paul still isn't entirely happy about this but, as he said, he's being a team player. Thanks Paul, I already knew you appreciate your fans but this is really going above and beyond in the face of corporate machinations. Also, it's good to know that Howl subscribers are paying for engineer Cody's health benefits! -
A message from Earwolf's CEO about yesterday's episode de-publishing
Darbler Cheesegarbler replied to ErikDiehn's topic in General Earwolf
Will the episodes older than six months disappear from the Earwolf website/soundcloud too? If not, who really cares? EDIT: Oops, nevermind. I see now that they are already gone... I guess I'll have to go elsewhere to listen to my favourite episodes, since the widow Howl app is absolute garbage on Android. -

I've had the Berenstein Bears books since I was a child, and I was reading one of them to my niece maybe two or three weeks before discovering the story about it being an A and not an E online. Even though I grew up with the books, watched the TV show, and was reading one of the books only weeks earlier, I would have sworn on my life and bet any amount of money that it was Berenstein and not Berenstain. I would've called anyone claiming otherwise a damn fool, and very likely challenged them to fisticuffs if they did not concede. Imagine my reality-shattering shock when I went upstairs to find the book I had read to my niece only to discover an A where an E should be. I'm convinced it has to do with a time traveler on Ellis Island accidentally distracting someone and causing a clerical error, or a phase shift between alternate realities causing some inconsistencies in both universes and some confusion among sentient beings. Those are really the only two logical explanations, aside from the far-fetched and bogus theory of widespread human error causing a common misconception.

I want Scott and Paul to know that they are sincerely two of my favourite human beings. Me and my friend went to see them in Toronto but couldn't hang around to meet them because the line was huge and our girlfriends were already waiting for us when the show ended, but damn I just want a chance to tell them to their faces how much they really mean to me, without sounding like a crazy person. For the last three years, these Best Ofs have been a holiday tradition for me and a couple of friends, and I hope that tradition continues for many years to come. Both Scott and Paul are my heroes, Scott basically just because he's Scott and also facilitates so much comedy gold, and PFT because he's one of the best comedians alive and quite possibly the best showman I've ever seen when it comes to live comedy shows. Together, they are one of the best things to listen to. Also, Pepe is not a symbol of white supremacy. Obviously not in origin, but also not in its common use online (even on Reddit and 4chan). That was bullshit from the Clinton campaign and even the Anti-Defamation League recognizes that it's only bigoted when used in a bigoted context, like depicting Pepe as Hitler.

Episode 463 - 2016 Holiday Spectacular
Darbler Cheesegarbler replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Everybody was so funny, and Adomian's Jesse Ventura is alongside Cake Boss with my favourite podcast characters of all-time, but something about Gino constantly ribbing Scott for monetizing everything and being all about that cash really made it my favourite part of this jam-packed episode. Jon has brought it up on I4H too, like the Kulap socks and shit like that, and I felt like I could sense Scott getting frustrated by it and I think it just encourages Jon/Gino more. At least his micro and macro aggressions aren't just based on gender, race and sexual preference; they include money too! Truly an amazing episode, in fact I have a bunch of editing to do that doesn't include audio so I'm going in for a second listen right now. Sidenote: please offer Adomian a conspiracy podcast on Earwolf. It would be a Christmas miracle. -
