Episode 404 - The Timeys Leap Year Celebration

A Time Keeper-centric episode?! I'm in! If Neil Campbell is playing the Time Keeper when they stop in Toronto for the live tour, my life will be complete and I can finally commit sudoku and go out on my own terms with some honor. Timey Kangaroo Downsport! Episode 404, disappointment not found.

    Episode 130 - Teen Witch

So, this is fucking perfect (except for the quality): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jALfOrBmRVg Also, now that I've watched the movie and listened to the episode, I feel like enough time has passed for me to post another gif of Jason at Officer Pimento from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Note: he's in next week's episode too. Oh, right, comments about the movie... Well, they pretty much covered everything I had to say including how much of a weird creeper Louise was, how that English teacher was completely inappropriate, how fucked up the condom chant was, and how Zelda's character was a garbage mentor. This is one movie where I completely disagree with everyone though, and I usually agree with Jason: I thought this was fucking garbage. As previously mentioned in the forums, nobody in the movie grows or learns anything, and the message seems to be as immature as the protagonist when it comes to just wanting some high school puppy love for everyone, even if it's meaningless and with a douchebag. Even though this movie was completely white, I disagree with them about people of color too: that one dude in sex-ed, the bouncer, and the guy at the car wash. Also I saw an Asian dude in that final prom dance, and apparently everything non-white counts as POC these days so let's throw that in there too. Edit: that gif played at normal speed and not slow-mo until I uploaded it, so... enjoy?

    Episode 130 - Teen Witch

Just in case anyone doesn't watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine, here's a gif of Jason doing Tai Chi to keep the demons at bay. Alright... I'll listen to the podcast now.

Episode 401 - LOVE Is Thicker Than Water

I was honestly going to ask about this as a potential episode after watching the trailer for Love, and now here it is! Well... Here it will be! Can't wait to listen to this one. EDIT: Gillian PWN'D both Rusty and Scotty on the word prescient. No wonder she's a champ at Words With Friends. OK, I'll continue listening now... EDIT 2: Nope, stopped a few seconds later to say I CAN'T BELIEVE Scott didn't continue the Cosby impression after Gillian said she doesn't trust his cups. EDIT 3: let's take a moment to enjoy this picture of Gillian as her character from Love. I believe she's on a date with Andy Dick at the time. EDIT 4: Alan Thicke knowing about the multiple dimensions from one of my favorite Spontaneanation episodes was amazing.
  6. When Jon was playing Gino on CBB and brought up that he always premature ejaculates in dreams, I had a feeling it was something from his real life. Also, I forgot to mention in my previous post how much I loved them ripping on the sound engineer for looking pissed the whole time. I'm glad he jumped on stage and fixed Mary's mic though!
  7. He (and I) were not disappointed! I was so happy that Adomian went for it. This was an amazing episode from start to finish.
  8. Hey now, you're an all star, this is baseball, punch us if you're angry
  9. Hey Mickey, you're so fine, you're so fine it's making me uncomfortably attracted to cartoon mice
  10. I ordered a pound cake and this only weighs a quarter of a pound! And it's a cheeseburger, not a cake! This is the last time I order from you!
  11. If laughter's the best medicine, I'm Doc Comedy and this episode will cure any ailment! Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor and this episode won't heal you
  12. When a dog does it it's cute, but when I eat grass and then puke and then eat my puke, my girlfriend's all like: "Who are you?! Get off of my lawn!"

Episode 400 - The War on Surfing

I can't wait for tickets to go on sale for the Toronto show! I'm buying four as soon as I can.

Episode 129 - The Apple: LIVE!

The actor who played Alphie, George Gilmour, starred in The Apple and then seemingly disappeared, never to act again. There's a thread on IMDB discussing this and how he might be the "George Gilmour" who was arrested for selling meth in the UK. They also found some pictures of him in a band from Scotland. The thread is worth looking at if you're interested, and in another thread someone claims that George lives near him and was an MC at a local event (in 2008). http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0319597/board/thread/11459548

Episode 129 - The Apple: LIVE!

Andy Richter was the PERFECT HDTGM guest. He did his homework, he had many insightful things to say, and he was just hilarious. Please have him back! I feel like he meshed with everyone really well, including the audience. I have to say, almost everyone in this movie except for Alphie and Bibi, and the landlady and the hippies, seemed like Chris Tucker from The 5th Element. In fact, The 5th Element seemed to take some cues from this movie, which rattles me to the core because I love The 5th Element. Some notes / omissions: This movie could've benefited greatly by showing some tits, especially during that Cosby'd orgy sex scene. Alphie seemed to remember people, like the reporters (including Pittman or whatever his name is), from scenes he wasn't in. He never met those people, as far as we know. The Bim mark is a triangle and it appears everywhere: Illuminati confirmed. This takes place in 1994 and the movie was made in 1980, so presumably all of the characters were alive when the world was normal and saw it transform into this crazy fucking mess. Jewish landlady even talks about the old days. Is there some time travel subtext here? The hippies are "refugees from the 60's", it's only 14 years after this movie was made and everything is hyper-futuristic, and "God" shows up in a golden car for some reason. Maybe we're meant to view time in the 4th dimension and the 60's have been destroyed, somehow leaving behind some refugees in the present, and all of this bonkers futuristic bullshit has been brought back to 1994 from the future. Is this theory really any crazier than the movie itself?

ADOMIAN!!! Oh how I've missed you on this show.

Episode 397 - My Silly Moss Man

Not my first concert, unfortunately, but Weird Al has the distinction of putting out the first cassette I ever bought with my own money (The Food Album) and the first CD (Bad Hair Day), probably with allowance or leftover Christmas card cash. I believe I was in grade 2 and then grade 4. I can't overstate enough how excited I am to have him as the band leader / co-host of CBBTV. I can't wait to see what antics him and Scott get up to! I can confirm, this isn't a joke. Apparently The Voblex has a whole wall dedicated to those photos, put together in a very tasteful collage. I got the impression it was Wengert coming in too early, and you can hear a lighter knock a little bit later. Maybe it was PFT hoping to stop in as Jarles. In any case, I'd also love to know if there's an explanation.

Episode 397 - My Silly Moss Man

I don't think that's what he meant, at least I hope not... I'd have to take back my like. Edit: I see miketheninja explained himself before I was finished posting! I can't believe Weird Al, one of my childhood heroes, is going to be the band leader for the upcoming season of CBBTV! I loved Reggie and Cudi, but I'm more excited for the show than ever! I feel like it's going to reach a whole new level in both the in-studio stuff and the skits. Lauren and Joe never disappoint with their characters! Part of me knew that the moss man was just a closeted swamp thing, but also for awhile I was starting to suspect he might be Satan. I don't know why, I guess the biblical stuff, being around for eternity (3,000 years?), and the fact that he's so sneaky. I wonder how many LL characters we can get on that pile of dead bodies before the end of the year.
  19. This is quite possibly the best Monday of Earwolf content I've ever seen. I don't even know where to begin!

Episode 128 - Streets of Fire: LIVE!

I actually really enjoyed most of this movie, especially the sets and the "fuck the police" attitude that everyone had. I only made a few brief notes, and they were: The opening credits are a mishmash of different styles and it doesn't really work. Stick with one! The dirty homeless guy who tells them where Ellen is being kept is Stan Sitwell from Arrested Development (Ed Begley Jr.) Is McCoy a lesbian? Is going to the military a metaphor for her coming out? Tom punching Ellen in the face was genuinely shocking. The last note just says: "Sledgehammer battle?! The whole 3rd act is fucked." Some of these might count as omissions, I haven't listened to the episode yet. I wish this actually was made into a trilogy though, as was originally planned. Now that I've seen this one, I'd watch all three for sure.

    Happiness is a Warm Plug

No problem at all, I genuinely really enjoyed it. Without question one of your songs will be chosen eventually, you clearly have the talent. I actually love the first half of this one, the way it changes but still flows so perfectly, I think it would become a plugs theme for sure! Then again, that's all up to the engineers; maybe bribe them with some Cake Boss (cakeboss!) cake. Related to your unrelated story: my sister is a nurse but also bakes things for different events, and I bought her several different sets of Cake Boss utensils, each one with his face on the packaging. I don't know if I would've chosen that as a birthday gift if it wasn't for Comedy Bang Bang, so even Buddy Valastro is getting the CBB bump!

    Happiness is a Warm Plug

I really enjoyed this, but knowing how Scotty likes them short and sweet I definitely recommend cutting this into two parts. The first half seems to mesh really well together, and so does the second half, but as one whole thing I think it's too long and it doesn't really flow. Either way, great job! I listened three times.

Episode 396 - The Intern Challenge

Holy shit! My brain wasn't ready for this, but my body is. I'm so glad I can't sleep. Without even hearing it yet, Gino has my vote for sure! We need to give him a reason to fly to LA, Marissa can just waddle up from Marina del Rey anytime she wants.

Episode 43 - Pediatrician Waiting Room

I know it's a good episode when even the use of the soundboard thing is making me laugh! Last week was brilliant too, when they used it to cause that rift in space-time. Spontaneanation continues to amaze me! I loved the interview, the location and the improv (and improvisers!); everything seemed to mesh together really well in this episode and even though it was pretty crazy it still managed to tell a very cohesive story.
  25. You say that like it's a bad thing. I loved the improv, but for this episode it's the interview that really stood out to me. Sussana Hoffs is easily one of my favorite special guests so far, and her and Paul had me laughing harder than some of the seasoned comedians do during their interviews! I'm going to listen to the interview portion again right now, just because I loved it so much and it put a huge smile on my face.
