EPISODE 24 - Sports Club/Live at Largo
Bumpy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Whenever there was a pause in the show and the audience aplauded I kept expecting the Thrilling Adventure Hour end theme to start. I made myself sad. I'm going to have to listen to the April Fools show again. -
What's up, hotdog junior? Knew your father, I did.

Not sure the Hollywood politcs reason holds up. Were these episodes they dipped deeper into the 'on the spectrum' jokes? I know there's been some blowback from that and those jokes have dried up in more recent shows.

Faint praise? Really, I love the energy from the live shows from both podcasts. -
EPISODE 11 - Tara Copeland - Spotlight On: Becca Foster
Bumpy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Womp It Up!
It's so funny when the ladies nearly have a normal human emotional response to things. Becca as Marissa's secret/shame friend makes so much sense in this world and Tara Copeland was great. Anyone else think this show flies by? Even though most episodes are about an hour whenever they start wrapping up it catches me off guard and feels way too early. More Womping, please! -
That's a good ep!

EPISODE 22 - A Clown Cemetery

And all his replies are in the form of piano playing. It'll be like when Mr. Rogers would talk with Trolley! -
EPISODE 42 - Big Grande: Teachers' Lounge
Bumpy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
A lot of comedy shows with great performers go in weird places sometimes but the idea of a high school where the theater teacher forces a student to pretend to be a pretzel who is then literally cannibalized by the rest of the class as an acting exercise is probably the most bizarre premise for a joke I've ever heard. -
To do a flawless Vin Diesel saying 'My family' just put your entire hand in your mouth first.

EPISODE 23 - A Miami Record Store In 1967
Bumpy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I was waiting for him to pull out a 'Leave him alone!' "This is a time of social turmoil, especially here in Miami... I guess." I could practically here the look being thrown at Derek Waters. Lastly, I am not affiliated with Oxy Bump and have no endorsement on the efficacy or lack thereof of their product. -
I want, no, need a collaboration between Whistling Pete and Dalton Wilcox.

EPISODE 41 - John Early: Celebrity Wow with Tyler LIVE
Bumpy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Just means we get to relisten to it more! "We've all heard Jason's side of the story." three minutes later... "Jason was dead." A joke that dumb should not be making me laugh this hard. -
EPISODE 22 - A Clown Cemetery
Bumpy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Wizard. Go with wizard. The last couple of weeks the repeat guests have reached the point where they aren't afraid of ruining their buddy Paul's show and are going in more weird places. In other words, this show keeps getting better and better. -
EPISODE 10 - Jason Mantzoukas - Spotlight On: Eric "Gutterballs" Gutterman

Phew! I was starting to go through withdrawal when I didn't get my fix Monday. #snax4all -

Naming a character pretty much the exact same as one two episodes ago? Cutting edge! Really funny and great energy. -
Great, you just made want a podcast where Denzel Washington tells people stories about his life and they always interrupt to remind him that they were with him when it happened.
-
If only we'd been getting the episodes on CD! What a bunch of Andy Dalys we've been! Also, to take this thread back to the subject of the actual show, while listening I had an alarming epiphany about where Scott's 'wordplay' is leading.

Is this show available on CD?

EPISODE 39 - Pam Murphy: Mary, Mary, On the Contrary, How Does Your Garden Grow?
Bumpy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
I thought Diana was going to have a problem with the tomatoes because they would just be begging not to be eaten. So is Lauren getting the premises for the episodes beforehand so she can pick out appropriate Help Me Rhonda questions or is she pulling relevent ones out in realtime? -
You know, 'It doesn't exist!' is a wonderful addition to the list of things to yell at guests they won't understand and I hope to hear more of it. Also, as a lifelong Maine resident I can confirm that if you live here you will randomly cross paths with Stephen King a ridiculous number of times. I am not saying this as a joke.

Sarah Burns 'Sarah Burns!'-ing Paul made me think of the U2U2TM where Scott (Aukerman) gets annoyed and Paul asks "Is it because people are doing to you what you do to people?"

You know what you really have to do.
