At the end of the Blair Witch episode, Amy, Devin and Simon touched on loud audiences in the theater and how Simon was looking forward to watching Blair Witch with as rowdy a crowd as possible. I gotta say I'm in agreement, depending on the movie of course, that a rowdy crowd can sometimes really enhance the experience. One of my favorite movie going experiences was for, of all things, Freddy vs Jason. I watched it Saturday night, opening weekend at Whitestone Cinemas in the Bronx (which is sadly now closed). It was like being at a title fight. The crowd was electric! Shouting stuff at the screen, hooting and hollering while cheering on their favorite. It was a hell of a time. Really added to the whole thing. There have been other times when this went down (mostly horror flicks, naturally) but that had to be the most memorable one for me. Anyone else have a similar experience they can recall?

I would love to get a Preston Sturges film into The Canon, ideally in a verses episode. My personal favorite is THE LADY EVE, but I think SULLIVAN'S TRAVELS tends to get the most love. A fight between those two would ensure that either victor would be a winner. But I wouldn't rule out HAIL THE CONQUERING HERO, THE PALM BEACH STORY, or THE MIRACLE OF MORGAN CREEK. Nearly every film he made was a great one. I adore the films of Frank Capra, but I think in many ways Sturges was more on point with his depictions of quirky whimsy of small town life. And I think that Sturges' edgy satire rivaled even that of some of the films of Billy Wilder. I'd also be very curious to see which Sturges films are Amy and Devin's favorites.

Spurred by rewatching both in prep for the upcoming films with both heroes. Both are often considered the best of the earlier superhero era, so there's historical context to judge. Plus, would like to hear Devon's general hate for Singer's X-Men and/or Amy's thoughts on them in general.
