It has become endemic. At home, at work, wherever, I now respond to anyone saying "my wife" with a knee-jerk instant "mah wife!"

 

My wife (mah wife!) has no idea why the hell I keep doing this. It's even gotten me trouble in work.

ME: Mah wife!

CLIENT: What?

ME: What? Oh. Nothing. Just -- sorry. Nothing! Carry on.

ME: mah wife
