RyanSz 3140 Posted April 5, 2013 This boxing/road trip movie with Woody Harrelson and Antonio Banderas as two over-the-hill boxers and friends who get one last chance at a big payday. The movie is fine enough as a look at what guys will go through to make it in boxing, but what makes this movie insane is the conversations that both men have with Banderas' girlfriend who is also Harrelson's ex. From talking about how they each fell out of grace in the boxing world to how Banderas "was a fag" for a year after losing a title match, because the guy he lost to was gay so he thought he could learn some secrets that would make him a better boxer. Â Yet the coup de grace is Lucy Lui who plays a mix between whore and valley girl with a southern accent. There is definitely enough the make this a decent episode with some Jason and June breakdowns. Share this post Link to post
SlidePocket 707 Posted November 17, 2014 This movie reunites Woody Harrelson with his "White Men Can't Jump" director Ron Shelton, who also casted his wife and frequent collaborator Lolita Davidovich (Blaze, Cobb, Hollywood Homicide). While "White Men" worked well for Harrelson and Shelton, "Play It to the Bone" however not so much. Â Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu also went on to work together again after this film with the infamous "Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever"! Share this post Link to post
